Pretty pragmatical
Curiosity drives a kid to try diffirent experiments on the world. Like burning ants with a lens
It is not because a kid is evil. The kid is just... curious. Yet still cruel

I think you should look up pragmatism before you make further claims.

Not those which have characters humiliated
A warrior dying to save a village is tragic and beautiful
A smith dying in a pit, starving to death and laughed at by other people is sickening

Nobody asked (at least in this thread) to see Leliana humiliated though.

That would be neat, but I don't think so. There was some speculation about her being infused with red lyrium/infected with something.

Would we be able to see that clearly if she was in full armor?

Either way it would be reason enough for it not to be shown at e3

Maybe she has gained lyrium veins like Fenris.

Good question. They did say the model used for the demo was not the final one, so possibly the actual model has different clothing that show the damage. or she will have red spikes growing out of her. That would be pretty noticeable.

I am not upset by violence. I am violent myself
I am upset that people enjoy and demand seeing other people suffer.
Life is cruel, life is violent. But people and animals have to be this way to survive, they have no other choice
Yet survival does not demand cruelty. One can kill for selfdefense, steal for food and lie to live another day
Cruel people though dont just do that. They kick a stray dog, rob the poor and take advantage of disabled.
Or, another type of cruelty - indifference - when people see suffering and dont do anything to stop it because they either dont care or enjoy it. This coldhearted pragmatism when a child cuts a fly's wings to see if it can fly without them
It is not just about the game. This is an attitude which touches both real and fictional worlds

People's indifference is more tied in with bigger cultural issues, and problems with the law. When people can get sued for trying to help someone, than yes it's going to make people wary.

But regardless, I don't see bioware biting the bullet and releasing it as an R18 game. It will be slapped with an MA15+ label, so immature teens can still play it.

And how it relates to a video game is a mystery.

Games are art in a sense that theyre artificial, created by humans thus influenced by culture, mentality. Any art also influences humans
It is a never-ending circle. Thats why the art (including even things like garbage or forms of candles) is used to research human history of culture, lifestyle and psychology. Everything is connected

I cut off lizards tails as a kid, to see if they bled. So I don't think that a child would nescarily be cold hearted by cutting of a flies wings, curious more likely. not in all countries, no. What I mean is that they will keep the violence to a certain level to get the biggest market share possible..that a 'mature age ' game can get.

I think Australia has some of the strictest rules concerning game ratings.

Which is a good thing in a lot of ways, but restricting in others. It still doesn't stop 8 year olds playing GTAV though -_-

You cut off lizards tails? Ugh. Poor things
No. Cruelty is natural, as sad as it is. Nature is cruel. Indiffirence and many forms of abuse come from a person's lack of empathy. People simply concentrate on what they feel rather what others do. Hence some psychological research which indicates that some home abusers dont even realise how they hurt others. This only proves that indifference is no lesser evil than cruelty itself

In the states a game can be super violent and get M (17+) ratings. It's once nudity get's involved then AO (18+) becomes a possibility. I have never seen an AO game in person.

No, it certainly doesn't. A lot of it come down to the parents. I'm amazed how ignorant some parents are about the stuff they get their kids. I remember a story on Not Always Right about a woman buying Princess Mononoke for her 5 year-old kid. Thankfully the cashier told her just what kind of movie she was getting. A Disney flick it is not!

They banned Bully too. That game is pretty tame as far as Rockstar games go: no blood, no deaths. The worst crime you can commit is hitting a little kid.

It still hurts, you know?
It is still a shock, you know?
You still held a living being, struggling to get free, and cut a part of its body including not just flesh but also bones, you know?
