From what I heard just the Alien stuff was but the two parents weren't and that was graphic. The alien stuff involved a minor and was rightfully censored IMO.

And Europeans calling us Americans the conservatives pfft.

Anyway I agree with Maria about Leliana being an any thing goes kind of person and Isabela being more demanding when it comes to sex. (She wants it and she wants it in a way that will make her feel good, where as I think Leliana is mostly in it for the personal connection and pleasing her partner, but she obviously finds it fun too)

I do think Merril is a bit of a closet perv tho. Like she might say "eww" when Isabela suggested anal play advice to Aveline but I wouldn't be surprised if she eventually tried it herself later out of curiosity.

Germany doesn't have a problem with mature content. It's just the violence. Sex and nudity in games are totally fine.

FYI the Dragon Age games have an 18+ rating in Germany while The Witcher 2 has a 16+ rating. Now which is the more mature game?

I don't think she's horribly broken. At the end of Leliana's Song, she was, but then she spent a couple years in the Chantry trying to put herself back together. She has some complex issues but I'd also say she has a rather robust mind.

I'd like to think that being sexually tolerant is more than a sign of psychological damage.

Except healthy BDSM is completely consensual and is mostly something done for show that barely hurts and comparing the two is rather unfair. Like they have bondage in common but that's it.

Well, the Witcher games are more immature in handling things so that makes sense.

The human mind is a wonderful thing. It thinks up all kinds of sexual ideas. In games though....if a game is rated Mature and has some sex scenes in it, then those scenes should be Mature...as in not seeing them making love in underwear.

 

Why does nudity frighten devs away form showing it. It is rated Mature...Mature people will play it

 

If you want to see a good example of what sexual maturity is like in games, take a look at 'The Witcher 2'

 

I don't know about The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt because i didn't buy it. But in TW2 it is quite good and tasteful.

People who have suffered traumatic events will sometimes have flashbacks or experience distress when they encounter something similar. It might be that being tied up or doing sensation play triggers her. If so, yeah, she wouldn't be down for that.

Alternatively, she might be fine with it. I've known people who've used BDSM specifically to 'replay' traumatic events because then they're in control of the situation.

It's one of those things where the impact is unpredictable, so it's hard to speculate on how it might have affected her.

DA II suffered from truncated development time, but I considered the sex scenes an improvement. I am sure that with DA:I, scenes will range from romantic to lurid.

One of the cool things about having eight different romances is that you can tell lots of different stories. Though with that many, I find myself wondering how they're going to do them all justice. I worry we'll get a ME 2 where not doing a romance meant hitting a brick wall in the relationship.

Well yeah but nearly anything could do that. I imagine that you brought them up because you find then similar somehow but I wanted to say that they really aren't.

Leliana does seem really insulted when the warden tells Isabela that she bites though so maybe she isn't into any kind of rough play
