A blank slate character is like the protagonists of every Bethesda game. They have the barest minimum of a backstory (usually nothing more than 'You start as a prisoner') and practically no personality whatsover, with very little dialogue to define the character.

The DA:O protagonist isn't voiced but he or she isn't a blank slate. The Warden has a defined backstory (see the Origin stories) and plenty of dialogue that helps define who that character is.

I don't talk about backstory they have one i speak about personality they don't have one so the warden is blank character that don't have any defined personality traits.

Can't the same be said about Hawke then?

No hawke have 3 possible personality sets that have traits in it the warden is more complex as you give personality traits to the character instead selecting 1 ready personality.

I'm hoping she'll be reunited with the Warden in this game, especially since I'm not a fan of the disappearing act. I want my Warden to go back to being Warden-Commander of Amaranthine and Chancellor of Ferelden.

Ayus. Apologies for poor joke. I just wanted to contribute because I feel bad not discussing her. Just avoiding spoilers and she was in a recent demo with info I didn't want to see, so.

Who thinks that she is a sociopath, anyway? Has that always been an argument? I disagree 394829354% she is certainly not. Her savviness can be concealed under her sugar-sweet voice and demeanour but she isn't... unable to be empathetic and has a genuine reaction to things around her.

My Warden left the Wardens and the Arling, so I hope she becomes a...wandering nomad clinging to Leliana's leg.

Yeah.

Meh, there are some people who argue that she was just manipulating the Warden to further her own ends and that her becoming Left Hand of the Divine is suspiciously good luck for her. I don't see it myself, but since we are not inside her head the best we can do is speculate.

Hm. I can see the argument. It'd be an interesting route to take with her, but her original attempts to join The Warden were such a longshot and she does give up after a couple of declines. I always loved how the vision of hers is entirely up in the air with no proof (as are most supernatural occurances) and that could be a hint that she fabricated it.

I think Leliana's Song puts that theory to bed. Though she displays her cunning, playful and manipulative side, she is as genuinely caring and has as much integrity as she possesses in Origins. I just think she is a person who can be influenced strongly by those around her. I think even the sweetest of people can be manipulated like that. She enjoyed it all because Marjolaine wanted her to.

Though I find it an interesting theory.

Mmm Caring? Integrity? No, you can murder, steal, frame and etc for money and have a luxury such as integrity.

Ultimately we don't know if that isn't just acting though, ultimately i think the only real emotion even presented in that DLC was anger directed towards her former master.

And personally i think the only reason she even got upset by that was because she didn't see it coming, which she admitted, she saw herself as too useful, too needed.

She expresses sadness at Tug's death, her shock and horror at Marjolaine's treason and then the fact that she says although the story changes with different people telling it, the fact that she refused to kill Marjolaine speaks volumes about her integrity. I guess it was just dizzied away by Marjolaine and their poisonous relationship. Seriously, I think that part of her life was all because of the fact that she got carried away by a beautiful and manipulative psychopath. It's a very old story that happens much too often.

No, "We'll bang, OK?" won't work on her.

Face it. You're not Commander Shepard.

This was confirmed like... months ago. It's also (so helpfully) written in the thread's name.

She expresses sadness at Tug's death

In front of a person whom actually cares about the Dwarf, does she mention Tug any time after the dungeon where he died in?

No.

the fact that she refused to kill Marjolaine speaks volumes about her integrity.

She actually explained this bit quite clearly, She could have her caught AGAIN, do you think had she struck against her then and there that wouldn't have happened?

I don't see integrity, i don't see compassion, or honesty or morality.

I see a bard who is good at her work.

Hmm I don't, or at least I don't think she was a good bard in Leliana's song.

Mainly because she couldn't see Marjolaine's real plans because she was blinded by her love and compassion for her. She didn't realize what was going on until it was far too late to really do anything about it.

I dont really know if the Masked Empire death happened recently or not. I just remember Celene noting that Marjolaine came to her demise in Ferelden (which she could be refering to Origins).  Imma go check

I'm sure Leliana was hardly the only person who wanted Marjolaine dead. Even if the Warden and Leliana did not kill her, perhaps one of her other enemies ensured that Marjolaine did not return to Orlais.
