...Me ten years ago...2004 i was going through basic.

Now here i am two wars later, on three different types of medication, i see a counselor and therapist twice a month and i am obsessed with Anime and collecting firearms.

I have also been involved twice with the same sex...

I would be alien to myself ten years ago.

Wow.....that makes my past 10 year old self look lame in comparison.Mine was filled the deaths of two family members,a broken foot, and nearly severed finger, and tons and tons of family problems.

*salutes*

I originally intended to join the Army myself. Come to think of it, I'd be ending my basic around this time, had I made that choice.

Well, becoming a soldier is a huge sacrifice. Thanks for making that sacrifice - you may have saved more than you think.

Anyway, ten years? Oh, I was just a little kid. With perhaps too much interest in firearms. I wasn't such an a-hole back then though. I guess it's entirely possible that Leliana is much more keen on violence, from my example. Maybe she wouldn't let Marjolaine, anyhow, after those ten years.

I don't know about her VA, but her writer said some stuff in the character interview. Here's the relevant part:

[DA]: How has her personality changed since her introduction to the series?

[SC]: Those who played Dragon Age: Origins might remember Leliana as a cheerful, optimistic young woman who tried her best to do what she thought was right. It’s now ten years later, and lots of things have happened. She’s not as carefree. Even if she wanted to show that side of her personality, she can’t.

[DA]: Why’s that?

[SC]: She’s a high-ranking member of the Inquisition with a great deal of responsibility, and she has to present herself a certain way for the Inquisition’s sake. However, if you prove that you're trustworthy, and that you understand where she's come from, she might let her guard down a little.

Hi, Leliana fan and lurker here. This interview brings up a good question. Regarding Leliana's character progression from DAO to DAI (including her appearances in DA2 and the novels), what developments in DAO do you think make the most sense for her character changing? Romancing the Warden and then losing the warden to self-sacrifice? Killing Marjolaine and being hardened or maybe letting Marjolaine go and tracking her to Orlais?

My headcanon is that Leliana romanced the warden and killed Marjolaine, but she then lost the warden when the warden killed the Archdemon. If Leliana is going to be more closed off during DAI I want it to make sense to me.

It's not actually 100% confirmed, but it is assumed to take place at the beginning of Inquisition. What with the big explosion and all...

I remember it being said that the Chantry leadership, mage leadership etc. are all killed in the initial explosion, so it makes it pretty clear who's going to go.

Basically, RIP Divine and Fiona.

Are we sure this specific person would even attent that meeting? For all we know, this person may have sent an envoy, because this person may be busy with something of more importance. Such as, you know. Certain faction's business in Orlais.

As a side note, I need to learn the use of spoiler tags.

I actually suspect Fiona may still be alive. Gaider did say in his interview with Lady Insanity that the whole "Fiona is Alistair's mother" thing will be resolved in Inquisition. The only people who know she was his mother are Duncan, Fiona, and Maric. Duncan and Maric are dead, so Fiona is the only source of info on this.

Hm, true. Perhaps she isn't going to be there, or someone else is going to be standing in for mage leader. Like Adrian. Maybe Adrian can die in an explosion instead?

...in any event, I'm just glad Cassandra and Leliana evidently end up running late or something.

What if I told you...

That Leliana may be suffering survivor's guilt because of that.

Hah! I bet none of you thought of that before!

Oh, wait, you probably did.

I hope so.

Because I want to see Fiona vs. Vivienne.

I wonder why...does this happen shortly after they were in Kirkwall?

Maybe they were just running errands elsewhere and not actually supposed to be there... Then again, Cassandra does show up in time to find the PC passed out on the floor while the bodies are still smoking. Can you imagine how she feels coming up to the peace conference to find everyone dead? Her reaction to the PC being largely unharmed comes off as pretty calm when seen from that perspective.

Varric decided to tag along with them, no? Maybe he was talking too much along the way from Kirkwall to Haven, and ended up unknowingly saving their lives because he slowed them down. :S

I don't know.

Holding a freaking LONGSWORD to somebody's throat doesn't seem all that calm to me. Especially since it's just one right movement of your hand... if not just your wrist... And your head may not be gone, but good luck living with your neck arteries severed.

Yeah, I can see her sending a representative. That or the other First Enchanters asked her to stay behind since the summit is about diplomacy and let's face it that is not one of Fiona's strong suits. Plus she is the only mage with a lot of military expertise so is necessary to lead them militarily.

As for Adrian, I expect her to live as well to be a source of problems.

Cass: "Shut up already, Dwarf!"

Leliana (points to the horizon: "Oh Maker!"

*explosion in the distance*

I meant that she is not screaming/freaking out. She is speaking fairly calmly and asking questions instead of just beating us up. Holding the PC at sword point is just being careful.

Well, the calmness does seem forced, IMHO.

I get the impression of her wanting to go "WHY ARE YOU THE ONLY ONE ALIVE, ANSWER NOW OR I BEHEAD YOU RIGHT NOW!" in a hysterical fashion, but her years of experience tell her she HAS TO STAY CALM.

Maybe Leliana talks Cassandra down from just killing our poor delirious Inquisitor then and there.

Kind of sounds like she throws us in prison or something to me.

The dungeon at Skyhold, presumably. I can't really blame her, to be honest. Huge explosion kills hundreds of people, one survivor with weird mark on their hand... Yeah, I'd lock them up too.

I don't see Cassandra getting hysterical.

There's no way she feels 'calm' though...no one would in that situation...but she's not going to behead the only survivor.

I do wonder if our Inquisitor will be forced to submit right away or if we'll have a chance to have a mini-battle against Cassandra in which after one or the other loses a certain amount of health Leliana and/or Varric step in to calm and explain matters

Not to mention the Inquisitor was the only there that survived the explosion. S/he is basically the only witness they can question.
