What she says was that as a bard she preferred "less violent means" and that sometimes those methods were fun for both parties.  You also have to take into account that at the time she was kind of like Marjolaine's trained puppy, and I get the sense she justified a lot of what she did because it pleased Marjolaine.

Leliana seems like the type who gets really involved in her romantic entanglements (not exactly sexual ones). Maybe if she doesn't fall for the warden she recognizes this and that's why she's not interested in a committed relationship.

Well it is clear that she still thinks about that same way and well it is still what i was saying. She cleary enjoy manipulating others even marjolene points that i don't see that as bad doing same to her.I mean i did the same didn't i and she is angry because of that.

Leliana's Song had some interesting revelations.

Like the fact that Leliana used to enjoy killing people and also the fact that she turned against Marjolaine over spying against Orlais.

So much for her claims she self-identified as Fereldan.

Uh she kills dozen of people DA:O, as does everyone else on the team, without much objection unless it's innocents involved. Absolutely no one is innocent when a member of the game as well.  Also you can roleplay Leliana as someone who isn't as quick to violence in Leliana's song. Which makes it even more problematic because a lot of what she does and how she acts is up to player choice.

You can easily play her as someone who is concerned for Marjolaine committing treason and the implications of what that means for their relationship if she gets caught, or someone with stronger loyalties to Orlaise then Marjolaine.

I edited it for correctness.

My Warden got into a flirty entanglement with Alistair while already with Leliana, but that was because of a bug/misunderstanding.

It's like she can't say she 'Likes him' (as a friend) without it translating to 'I'm going to shag you silly.'

more then 3

I'd say less than 3.

Well her dlc if truly shows what happened says otherwise besides that she even lied before.

Also she said she likes play others i don't see what is bad in manipulating manipulator pretty much we can even point that to her when she becomes angry with warden doing that she lose her words.

I think the story Leliana told the Warden is the truth, while the story of DLC is just Leliana playing bard and spinning a yarn to an audience. She even admits in the narration that bookends the DLC, that not all the details are truthful. Also the narration of the DLC doesn't sound as if she is spilling her gets to a close friend or lover, unlike in DA:O.

Where her DA:O backstory and the DLC story differ, I think the truth is in DA:O.

I'd say less than 3.

Why?

The last confirmed mention if you even consider the scene canon was via a king alistair appearance at the beginning of act 3 in DA2.

Aka 9:37 Dragon

It is now 40-41 Dragon.

So presumably its four to three years.

Doesn't mean they disappeared the very next day.

It seems to me like the search was only started recently as of DA2's final scene, and if they were missing for four years before that, one would think they'd have started looking sooner.

According to this article Leliana like hanging out in the rookery of Skyhold. I wasn't aware that a castle can even have a rookery...

Someone explain this to me.

Unless its a rookery of nugs then that makes sense.

A rookery is a nesting colony for birds. It could be for Nightingales, since she takes the name for her missions.

She didn't turn on Marjolaine over loyality to Orlais. Leliana was afraid for Marjolaine because the punishment for spying is torture and death. She tried to convince Marjolaine to abandon these treasonous actions out of fear for her lover's life and instead was set up to take the fall for the spying.

Mages can't be Paragons.

Because only dwarves can be Paragons, duuuuh.

A rookery is any area where birds breed. I'm guessing there's a tower that's open to the air where lots of birds have set up nests.

Speculation ahoy...

The tarot card of Leliana that you have as your avatar has her with a crow perched on her shoulder. Perhaps DA:I is borrowing from A Song of Ice and Fire (a.k.a. Game of Thrones) and using crows to carry messages? In any case regardless of the species of bird used the rookery might be used to send messages back and forth to far flung outposts and agents. If that is the case it might make sense for Leliana, as your spy chief, to be spending a lot of time there.

She probably employs birds as part of her duties as a spymaster, using messenger pigeons and such to send correspondence to her agents.

It also explains why in one of the trailers Leliana is show with birds flying around her. I thought that was just a little call back to her nightingale code name but it turns out she actually hangs out within Skyhold's Rookery (bird nest).

Crows and ravens are not very good messenger birds in real life, but some allowances can be made in a fantasy setting. (They have been used for espionage, though ...)

Believe it or not, it is the humble pigeon which is the type of bird used for carrying messages. The British have even awarded a medal to some of these pigeons for their service in WW2. Seriously, not kidding. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Dickin_Medal

Leliana has become so obsessed with the Nightingale persona, that she sits in the rookery with actual Nightingales on a perch and sings with them. She is learning bird-speak.

Yeah, I've heard that before. We've been using messenger pigeons since before the time of Christ.

Does she have a bird costume as well?

Or maybe she's just eating the birds, being Orlesian and all.

Maybe she's up there chowing down on some Ortolan bunting.

Damned Orlesians.  :P

Day 134, and the birds still do not suspect anything.
