Had a dream last night that Leliana was into "rock/alternative" type music in DA:I
It was kind of weird.

Do the Leli rock.... ![]()
If the warden has remained alive, I would love to have some news about the warden from her especially if she was romanced by him (or her).
There's gotta be some, especially if you talk to her in the Skyhold.
Maybe she'll mix up her singing in skyholdHad a dream last night that Leliana was into "rock/alternative" type music in DA:I

I really love Lelliana's song!
I like the song, but I hate the cutscene.

Yep. Song was nice, lip syncing wasn't.
I usually just close my eyes during it and listen. :S
I always loved Morrigan's reaction to it though. It was like the animator was shaming themselves.
I thought Sten's reaction to it was the most interesting. Still can't tell if he was sad or angry. Maybe both.
Besides the animations, the whole thing just feels goofy. It's a musical interlude in the middle of the game which has had none up to that point; it's very obviously not Leliana's voice; and the whole song is in elven so it's essentially just gibberish.
And she doesn't give you a choice! That dialogue will always occur after Nature of the Beast! Sure, you can skip it, but there's no option to say "No, Leliana, I don't feel like a musical number right now." **** YOU WARDEN YOU WILL HEAR LELIANA'S SONG AND YOU WILL LOVE IT
I hope she sings again in DA:I.
In French this time though!

Well, Corinne Kempa apparently can't sing so we'd still get a voice double. Maybe she could play her lute? And I have a vague feeling of deja vu for some reason...
Leliana should juggle
what's this, heresy in the leliana thread?
I hate the sin but love the sinner. ![]()
F*** sake, out off all of the characters, I was going to romance her (I prefer redheads) and now I find out she isn't even an option! Bioware! What is this s***?!
...well I guess I have to ride the bull. Why? Because every other option is just not enough for me.
This should have gone to a public vote or something, not just done in house because I feel... I feel like my genitals have been crushed with a boulder like some poor medieval torture device. Reading some of the comments in this thread, I get where Bioware and other people are coming from, for example, just go back and play DA:O or "It could upset players who romanced her with The Warden" but I'm pretty sure most people would want to romance her again in DA:I... I mean, look at her! She got like 10x more gorgeous.
What was the figures that Bioware revealed in one of their panels? Something like 70% of all play throughs romanced Leliana? Well it was definitely the majority of play throughs. That is a lot of people that like Leliana. Now if there is some discussion within the game about her not being interested in romance or about being faithful to The Warden or something and not just leave it hanging in the wind then that might make up for it, so long as it is believable.

Some people pay good money for that experience. Take it as a freebie. ![]()
Have to disagree about the "public vote" concept; games should not be written by the fans. It's great that rpgs are interactive to a point, but the writers should tell the story.
And no doubt, Leliana has aged very well. Heart-breaker, she is.
I knew I made the right decision on romancing her with my canon warden!

So, will there be a line of her referring to what happened to the warden (if he/she was alive in the end of witch hunt) in DAI? Or their relationship? It seems unlikely that she would just walk away and left the warden alone if she was romanced.

I think there was a play through where I didn't get her to sing, either the first or the second, I cant remember.
I just realized the lyrics for tht song is exactly the same with what Merrill said on top of Sundermount

I get that it is the developers story to tell, but it's also ours to an equal or possibly larger extent. In RPGs and more so in Bioware's games, the story that is told is the story the player crafts to fit in with there ideas and there choices and Goddamn it my choice will always be Leliana.
I agree that voting on how a story or an element about a game is not the best route to take when making a game I mean, did Tolkien need reader input to write The Lord of the Rings? No (I realise that these are two different medias), but then they were all original characters that he created within that universe and none off, or at least very few were reused from previous stories. Those that were reused for example Gandalf wasn't put into a predicament the reader didn't like because it was a coherent story, there was no choice beyond 'read it or don't'. With Dragon Age, we have a character (Leliana) many off us have fallen in love with and was, unfortunately, missed in DA2 (fixed slightly with DLC and there was the ending of course). We as players got to learn more about this character through choice; we chose to ask her about her time as a Bard in Orlais or whether we helped her defeat her old mentor/lover. I know this isn't Mass Effect which would let you carry on a relationship across all titles in the series because it's focused on the same small group off people with the same protagonist throughout which works and in the case of Dragon Age, it's a lot harder but not impossible and judging by what some off the writers and programmers etc. at Bioware have literally thrown themselves onto a grenade in order to make things work for example, making Iron Bull romanceable across all characters regardless of race or gender. I'm pretty certain that they could have made Leliana a love interest in DA:I and it does boil down to whether people want it or not.
I've actually just thought of a way they could fix it, (probably to late now anyway but maybe for DLC?) use the Keep. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'm sure there is an option in there that will let you choose who The Warden romanced. If you don't pick Leliana, well boom, you can romance her in DA:I. Why don't they do that.

Sorry, this reads more like a rant than me making a point. Once again, I apologise.
I am glad she isn't romancble but if the warden romanced her it should come up. And if they do the "oh we are on a break" or it didn't work out I am gonna have a brain anurism

some medival torture device...like the pear of anguish? (shudders)
I liked Leliana in Origins a lot. But she really shouldn't be coming back without the Warden. Unless she was just seducing him for some reason and never intended to fulfill her promises of love and dedication.

I think he was quite surprised to hear such a beautiful song but he couldn't smile though.
The dog had the best reaction though...he stopped barking ![]()
