As for the Redcliffe mission, sending Cullen myself, best option I feel to deal with a bunch of cray cray mages, ex-Templar and all that. Take em down with force, don't care much for a soft approach in this situation.

Plus someone you don't care for that much, amirite?

Lol. Nah I just reckon his approach would be the best, time for action, strike em down.

Can she even fight? Or is it just mad Persuasion skills?

Well, noone said the whole "Care less than Josie and Lels" isn't an added bonus to the logical bit of him being a Templar in lead of your armies...

She asks if she can get in under the pretense of being invited for tea?

She doesn't like violence, so...I'm not sure how effective the 'pen is mightier than the sword' approach would be against blood mages... :S

And the tea she got was absolutely awful, leading her to be bitter and believe all mages everywhere must be killed.

Don't be silly, Josephine wouldn't go into a murderous rage because of bad tea.

But bad lemon cakes?

I might be imagining things, but I think I read somewhere that it isn't necessarily the advisor who personally goes on missions you've assigned them to; they can have someone else within their circle do the job for them. You only have them handle the matter, and how they do so is up to them.

Her persuasion skills have the entire Venatori faction betray The Elder One and join the Inquisition.

Not as far-fetched as that may seem, given that Alexius didn't seem to even like the Elder One and only went along with him due to feeling that his victory was inevitable. I don't see why the Inquisition couldn't convince him otherwise (and I definitely don't see that he'd necessarily bring the entire Venatori faction with him, so we could still fight them later).

I would probably send Cullen to Redcliffe too, if my actions should lead to it being taken over. Or if you can, go myself and take care of any nasty business. :bandit:

This ain't an IMDB message board, this is a character discussion board not one where we discuss the right and wrongs of the Templars and Mages, you want to do that, go visit the right topic for it.

I have no problem with someone having a different view on a character. I'm not a fan of Cullen and will probably be civil enough to him in the game. But I don't go around and bash him. And bashing is what you are dangerously close of doing concerning the topic we're all discussing.

But hey, whatever man.

It looks like you misunderstood me ,because i said almost nothing about Mage-templar war only what said character (that topic is about) did ,well in fact mage matter but yes it has strong connection to mage-templar war because character was involved in it.Pretty much whole post was about leliana ,what she did and what she can do in dai ,well almost because there was little about other subordinates.

Well it may be bashing if pointing negative things about character is bashing ,but i do that a lot even toward characters i like.

I do wonder if it'll be possible to completely avoid Redcliffe being taken over. If that turns out to be the case that would be wonderful! :D

As others have clarified, sending Leliana to Redcliffe is apparently optional and the consequence of ones previous actions. So maybe it is possible to avoid Redcliffe being taken.

Or it is part of a main quest and the only thing one can influence is what happens within its walls.

It doesn't necessarily imply we can prevent Redcliffe from being taken over though. It could be a plot point that happens at some point regardless of what you do.

With that being said being able to prevent it would be as noted before, awesome  :D

Assuming we can choose any of the three advisers for that mission, he would probably be the best bet. I can't imagine that negotiation (Josephine) would work.

Lets also not forget that they said that they didnt prepare Leliana.

Maybe that can also be a factor in wether she'll succeed or not.

If it meant closing the fade rift i would send Leliana to her death in a heart beat. If you think this means i have a low opinion of her you are wrong. If I sent Leliana on a mission and she got tortured but it was critical to the success of closing the rift again I'd sacrifice her good opinion of me in a heat beat. Stopping the destruction of the world is far more important then her good will or life. Anyone's life.

I'd rather sacrifice Cullen :P

Though all joking aside, I think that there will be numerous different scenarios when it comes to the ending. One Golden, where everyone lives, and one totally Bad, where all is doomed. And then of course a lot of variations between those two.

I'm reasonably sure that it's worth a shot, given Alexius' clear ambivalence.
