Just as a heads up, I added spoiler tags to your spoiler.

You can do so by typing out [ spoiler] SPOILER TEXT HERE [ /spoiler]

Just remove the space after the [ for the open and end tag.

To enjoy means to "take delight or pleasure in (an activity or occasion)"

I take delight that a video game was able to bring out an emotional response out of me.

Unless one is a masochist negative emotions such as sadness, anger or pain are not enjoyment. Excitement, maybe. But not enjoyment

From the wikipedia definition of Pleasure (which defines enjoyment according to your definition)

Pleasure describes the broad class of mental states that humans and other animals experience as positive, enjoyable, or worth seeking. It includes more specific mental states such as happiness, entertainment, enjoyment, ecstasy, and euphoria. In psychology, the pleasure principle describes pleasure as a positive feedback mechanism, motivating the organism to recreate in the future the situation which it has just found pleasurable. According to this theory, organisms are similarly motivated to avoid situations that have caused pain in the past

I bolded one particular mental state, which is entertainment.  Entertainment encapsulates a lot of things (and I do not think is that far from Excitement that you list either).  I find something like the Walking Dead game entertaining.  It was emotionally moving and memorable.  So yes, I will say I enjoyed it.  I'm glad that I played it because the experience was one I found interesting.  If I were to experience the same circumstances in reality, I would not enjoy it as it's no longer a story being told in the comfort of my own home.

Synonyms for enjoyment include words such as thrill, amusement, satisfaction, recreation, diversion, fun.

of TWD is why I dislike the series. There is no hope, no any kind of justice. I look at these characters and realise they have no hope of survival, no hope for even revenge often. I despise Rick for how coldhearted he became in third season of TV series: leaving some quite innocent people to die and even looting them. I agree with Dale from 1 and 2 seasons : "'Cause at least I can say when the world goes to ****, I didn't let it take me down with it."

Is it safe to say, then, that what you find entertaining differs from what other people find entertaining, and that we move along in this discussion?

I can understand reservations about people feeling that Leliana needs to be in a particular condition for the scene to be appropriate, but the semantics argument is going to derail the thread further so I think it's in the best interests that it stops now.  We disagree with what someone means by the term "enjoy" in this context, and I don't expect that to change, so I don't think it's particularly productive to continue on this path.

At least you understand why I feel so strongly terrified when people demand Lelianna to be beaten up for "immersion"

As someone that isn't specifically targeted, I think I can understand yes.  People lack context for the scene specifically, and I think jump to the quickest conclusions about what must be happening (and must have happened) and, as Maria hinted it, it's in large part because they're so used to coming to that conclusion.  Which I agree IS a problem (or rather, a symptom of a bigger problem).

How?  Does it put her in Lululemon combat armor or something?

I am seriously in pain because I can't 'like' this more than once.

That's an excellent question, and one the games fail to answer in a satisfactory manner.

I can listen to a piece of music and say 'This sounds like Jade Empire' or 'This sounds like Star Wars.' I can't do that with Mass Effect or Dragon Age, though ME is still much better.

Then again, three games in and Dragon Age still seems to be struggling to be visually distinct.

The most memorable piece of music from Dragon Age II is I'm Not Calling You a Liar by Florance and the Machine. The most memorable pieces of music from DA:O were elven ballads that would have felt right at home in Lord of the Rings.

I'm also a big fan of Vigil as well. :)

I absolutely LOVE the latest (final?) iteration of Leliana.  I think she's strikingly beautiful and her VA comes through so well in the bits I saw today! ^_^

I know it's titled an appreciation thread, but rather than having multiple threads for the same character pop up, I'd rather all discussion for a character be kept together.

That said, it IS still a bit odd to receive a question as to whether or not we can kill Leliana... >.>

Stuff like that is firmly in spoiler territory anyway so it's not something I'd be willing to share.  But teasing that I think we did a good job on Leliana's character traits I'm perfectly okay with doing B)

I imagine that her looks are roughly the same as they've already revealed her. Maybe a bit of polishing? Or you might be talking about specific scenes that you're encountering that feel 'Lelianaish.'

Don't expect her to change much from the picture shown on the previous pages, no.  But it does seem like some final touch ups have occurred in the current build, at least, that I think people will appreciate.
