Note that the Redcliffe mission is the mission where you side with the mages, if anyone cares.
It doesn't happen at all if sided with the Templars?

I want to make peace between the mages and Templars. Is that possible?

Correct. Also, Redcliffe is only open to you if you side with the mages.

No, sadly it is like DA2 where you have to pick a side and the other side becomes enemies you can't reason with.

So many possibilities and outcomes... goodbye social life.

Really? There's no way to try to appease both sides?

Yes, there won't be a peace option. Really, people expecting a peace option were just deluding themselves. You'd think the Breach killing all the moderate peace-lovers would have tipped people off, plus Gaider's comment that he didn't like the fact that there was a geth/quarian peace option in ME3
I know, and it sucks. It seems romancing her is the only relationship path that's going to have an effect. :/
i doubt that, eatlier in the closed keep beta: the option to get the grimore for her, was not present, neither was marjolines,or allistars personal quests. But the romance tiles and whether you did the ritual choice was. After feedback from the keepers, the quests were added, and I belive they will be used to determine whether or not allistar, lelliana, and morigan are your friends.
However, those were added when the game was in the final phases of production. Pretty much just a few weeks before the game went gold.
I doubt they have any effect.

Yep.
Gaider hates people having good options apparently. Instead people should only have their choice in flavors of failure.

Just reconcile Vivienne's faction with the rebellion, and you'll have your good ending.

We still have to decimate a faction that in the real world would agree to put aside their differences until The Elder One is dealt with at least.
It is just like the final mission in DA2, which a majority of the fanbase hated how that went, but on an even larger scale.

If there was a peace option, why would anybody want to side with either faction? See the quarian/geth peace option where not getting it is considered a failure and choosing the other two options is bad. Creating peace removes all difficulty from the choice.

There are many players who hate either side for various reasons, so I wouldn't be surprised if the peace/compromise option wasn't the only one selected. Especially if they made it hard to get.

Even though I agree that there should be a peace option the negativity in your posts is annoying
it almost seems like you are disappointed in everything about the game (about what we know so far) just because some of your "fears" have apparently come true

There was no negativity in the post you quoted at all.
As for being disappointed and negative about things in general, I have a right to be. For years Bioware goes on about how the Inquisition is about "saving the world from itself" when all we do is escalate the conflicts.

In the real world, the templar equivalents are the ones with all the cheap bombs. I don't think that not being able to have a reconciliation is too unrealistic.

And finish them.
Unfortunately, dragon age is a Grey franchise. So, Reeh? What did you expect?
I expected grey, not black. They advertised the former but by all info so far are giving the latter.

Except it is a video game. Unrealistic things happen in them. Shepard would never have gotten all those sides to work together against the Reapers in six months, and yet we did.
Finishing fights by eliminating a side is not "saving the world from itself".

Of course there will definitely be a few things to criticize in DA: I its not as if the game will be perfect but from your posts in the last few days it seems like you are disappointed in almost everything so far and that you won't be able to enjoy the game like everything you feared for is happening
