Sigh, this again. It would have been a waste of rescources, just go and romance her in Origins. Or just change the romance tile in the keep. Geez it's not that hard is it?

I also have noticed that those who want Leliana back,(in most cases) tend to be the males who complain and whinge about how 'ugly' cass and josie are. It really does remind me of a toddler who is spoilt. The toddler usually gets red jelly; and when he is served green jelly he throws it back, cries, and throws himself to the floor.

It would have been no more a waste of resources than that of all the other romances they added in the extra time they were granted, even though I'm personally fine with the options that we do have available, both male and female.

It's also hardly think it's fair to call people who wanted to romance her in Inquisition spoiled toddlers or tell them to just go back to Origins if they want to experience romance with her, as that's basically ignoring the fact that so many people did want another shot at romance with her, especially if they didn't romance her in Origins?

For me, part of the reason I would have liked the option basically boils down to character development on her part. While I loved her character in Origins, frankly, she's become far more interesting in my opinion because of all of her experiences over the past decade, from being the Hand of the Divine, to her role in DA2, the novels and helping reform the Inquisition with Cass.

I can understand Bioware's reasoning for not including her as a romance option, due to her past potential romance with the Warden and that a romance might not fit the story, but I dislike that there is such dismissal towards anyone who wanted that romance, when they're allowed to express that opinion? After all, if we didn't all love Leliana, why would people care if she were romancable or not?

It strikes me odd that people were equally crushed when Varric wasn't made a LI, yet I don't think I've seen anyone come down on Varricmancers with such vitriol at those who wanted a Leliana romance? Especially as the same could be said of which gender wanted that romance the most, as it seems that the majority of (but not all) Varricmancers tend to be female?

Spoilers for redcliffe regarding Lelianas famed appearance change (Dont complain about spoilers, consider yourself warned. But note that I HAVE tried to keep it at an absolute minimum).

Spoiler

I don't know, I like the explanation and the resolution.

Aye, sorry, just felt the need to point out the slight double-standard.

You're right, damn there are a lot of feels there! Have you seen the unromanced one?

Aye that sounds pretty sweet too. Romanced one totally validated my headcanon though.

Shame those converstations seem a bit easily missed.

This is very sweet, we couldn't have gotten a better reference. :)

Also the warden did have his journal in DAO. I like the idea that the warden-commander was invested in sending out letters :).

It also fits nicely with the epilogue of Awakening where the Warden helps Oghren with his letters to Felsi and his kid. :)

So, you think her character is suddenly better? That's your reasoning to have her back as a romance? That is not viable, either because the same could be said for the other returnig characters, like Morrigan/ Allistar ect.

Varric was never a romance option in any other game; so their dissapointment is more understandable. Also Varricmancers are not whinging about how ugly the other LI's are.
Why would people care?

1- It would mean a new character would have to be scrapped, in placemof an OLD character.
2- Not everyone likes Lelliana
3- It would be pandering to some prevlidged male players who are throwing tantrums.
4- Bioware would be going against their equality image, that they keep talking agout at cons.
5- More content for other groups> than content for the already excessivly catered to male players in the overall game market.
6- She was already romanceable in DAO.
7- It will ****** off a lot of people.

In the overall game market..Should have put that there 'edits'

Too tired to argue more of this. I'm sure someone more capable can explain better than I.

Err, why is that not a viable reason? She's evolved as a character and why shouldn't that make her more appealing as a love interest?

Look at the Mass Effect series for example. In ME2 both Tali and Garrus were made LI's (yes, I know it was initially fanservice) in the second game and both of their characters had evolved significantly since the first game and as a result, their romances were some of the most popular in that series?

A better comparison is Liara, who in ME3 was (again) made a romance option even if you'd romanced two completely different people in the first two. Like Leliana, she'd taken metric ton of badass over the course of three games, especially after becoming the ultimate spymaster and as a result, her character was far more interesting in the third game than that of the first.

There will always be some people who complain for complaining's sake, sure, but you shouldn't dismiss the point entirely just because of them. That'd be like saying that the Mages in DA are being entitled for wanting to be free of the Circles and ignoring all of their valid points for wanting to be free, all because of people like Anders, Adrian and Fiona who decided it was better to throw down rather than seek a solution peacefully?

While it certainly sucks that Varric, Leliana and Viv weren't romance options, either due to it not fitting either the story of Inquisition or their own personal stories, my point remains that it is that unfair to ignore anyone who admits to having wanted them as being "yet more overprivileged male gamers throwing a wobbly", ignoring that there were also female gamers who may have wanted them? It's those sort of blanket statements that actually irk me far more than anything else, as people are entitled to have and express their opinions (unless they're obviously trolling).

But anyway, Snook was right earlier that we should probably drop this matter, lest it descend into unwanted bickering and disrupt the thread? :)

Cass is easily the best LI just from what I've seen from flirt opportunities as a female quizzy and it makes me a little sad that I can't have her. I can't wait to romance her as a male quizzy(Also Josie is beautiful dey cray)

I would love to trade Sera for Cass omg please. Uhg she gives me a headache... she's like everything I don't like in a woman.

The mass-effect series is a really bad comparision btw. That series was very much catered for straight males in romance content.Hardly, any females have complained for Lelliana to be a li in DAI, and I havnt seen a single thread requesting for Allistar/Morrigan either.Yet I have seen at least 3 threads calling the Male options ugly, and those threads often end up with posts like 'LI in DAI are ugly, they should have let us romance Lelliana.' It sucks that people couldent romance Varric and Viv, but not Lelliana because she already had a romance in DAO.

But yes, lets drop this..

So, anyone run into more references to a romanced Warden by Leliana? I hope there's more than that one conversation in Haven. It was very sweet, but I hope it's not the only one. :)

This seems to be a very common reaction w/ a certain part of the fanbase.

"I love that Bioware did a lesbian character!" *pause* "but why did it have to be Sera!?"

And no trade, Cassandra is awesome.

Dayum. Dat lore is deep son...

So I guess the more friendly you are the more she will open up to you, and about her and the Warden. :P

Also, does anyone hope Leli gets to meet the OGB, since

Spoiler

I think it would make a pretty interesting scene, especially since my import involves the Warden in a Leli romance, but who also did the Dark Ritual. I have this bad feeling that decision is going to backfire at that point in the game, if that scene happens. XD

Is her seeming really, really concerned about the missing Wardens when you get Blackwall something for a romanced import? Seems like it could.

Hi all, sorry if this has already been answered, but 306 pages is too many to check.

When is the first possible reference of the Warden by Leliana? I've just got Blackwell, and I want to make sure I imported Keep correctly.

Thanks.

Every time I check this thread, someone is complaining about not being able to romance Leliana in DAI.
