Out of curiosity:

What was her outlook on the whole thing? Did she kill Sister Natalie in her personal quest? Did she want to become Divine? I know those things can vary a lot between playthroughs, so I'm interested to see if that factors into the end result.

I wish I knew the right decisions to make. It is so complicated...and not just with Leliana....all through the game it is so hard to say the right things....not like in DA:O and DA2 which was a lot easier.  .

My Warden is gonna be piiiisssed at my Inquisitor. She begged her to keep Leliana in the light, and now she's taking children as leverage hostages.

after setting Leliana on the right path again (as the warden wanted in his letter) I hope she reunited with the Warden for good this time (like she said)

When I heard from her that she somehow wanted to become Divine I was like Wtf? What about your plans with the Warden?
So even though I wanted more change in the chantry system I didn't support he and instead went with Cassandra

 

Do Divine's even have lovers? My poor Inquisitor will probably have to break up with Cassandra

but I'm more invested in the Warden/Leliana romance at this point so thats ok

Not to me, Cassandra is definitely more legitimate candidate then Leliana, heck I even feel Mother Giselle is better candidate. Leliana is the one who when she becomes divine forces her hand on those who she dislikes. A perfect example is with the bard who was telling lies and on the War Table, she pretty much says "Hey I'll just have my agents literally cut her tongue out of her mouth to stop her from talking."

Yeah.... no to me Thedas doesn't need another brutal leader forcing what she wants on the populace. Yeah her goals are admirable but the way she goes by them I don't abide by. Thedas needs another Divine like Justinia V the one who was making reforms and planning years ahead of time with kindness. Leliana is the opposite of that (Hardened at least.) She even disowns Justinia after trying to figure out "I Failed you" from the spirit.

Cassandra is the one who is level headed and isn't massively emotionally damaged by the war as she has steeled herself by being a Seeker.

Just my 2 cents.

I think what's making it more difficult is that the game is new and nobody's 100% sure what affects it and which decisions carry more weight. I'm sure in a few months everyone will have it down to a science

I think we can pretty much agree that all three iconic Origins companions  (Leliana, Alistair, Morrigan) get screwed by the choices the Inquisitor makes one way for another, the worst being Morrigan. :'( I just want a DLC where they reunite with the Warden and go on hell-yeah adventures with him/her again.

Regardless, I loved the character development of all three of them and can only hope in a future DLC we get some questions answered, like whether Divine!Leliana reunites with the Warden or not!

We.need.closure. And a satisfying one. :x

She seemed to consider the idea, though she seemed torn. I had no choice in her killing Natalie for whatever reason, I told her not to but she did anyway.

To do that in her personal quest you need to

Stop her from having the agent in haven killed AND tell her she did the right thing in pulling her agents back at haven when Cory attacks in a convo in Skyhold. Sucks that 2 early choices decide whether you can stop her in her personal quest way later on especially considering the Wardens letter if romanced. I guess this is part of the whole "choices matter" plan Bioware has been pushing this game.

Her personal quest seems to play out very differently in tone depending on how you've shaped her personality in previous conversations from what I've gathered. If she doesn't kill Natalie she'll express thanks to you for stopping her and talk about having the realization that she's lost so much of herself in assuming the role of Left Hand. The message from Justinia was a release from her duties/obligation. I'm hoping this means she's not going to put herself forth as a candidate, since I can't imagine that being where she'd want to go now. No idea how this conversation plays out if she kills Natalie, but I gather it's a bit different.

Just reached that point and...Leliana now seems really set on the idea of becoming Divine. This worries me.

Cassandra is Divine. Allied with the mages, Celene is ruler. I think what views you express and who you support matters much more than anything else.

 

Now Leliana, the Warden will be back one day. Now go and be happy. ;_;

What are you talking about? That doesn't suck, that's awesome. Too often, games featuring "choice" make the outcome of said "choice" painfully clear as soon as you make them OR the game makes it too easy to reverse your decision even if it's been inconsistent with the way you've been playing. But this quest? It really makes you feel the sting of your decisions.

 

I'm also wondering if it's really only the two conversations that determine how Lilliana reacts when you find Justinia's box. I let Lilliana kill the traitor early in the game, but I also told her she did the right thing in pulling back the scouts after Haven fell. However, I've been using her quite a bit on the War Table. When we were on her personal quest, I couldn't stop her from killing the sister and when I told her to accept Justinia's release of service, she said "after all things you've said and done, you want me to let it go?" I thought , "Wow, she's calling me a hypocrite because I have no problems using her to assassinate targets or destroy reputations in the quest to establish the Inquisition as a major power".

You know she's not the only character who gets a kick in the face regarding the game's choices? Cassandra's situation is equally disturbing.

And there are characters with worse consequences...like Morrigan and Warden!Alistair for example. And that saddens me. :/

I'll admit I'd jump on the Leliana for Divine bandwagon in a heartbeat as long as I get to see her and my Warden getting married by Mother Giselle in future DLC that will hopefully be helping our Warden end their Calling.

Leliana still my favorite character in the DA series after finishing Inquisition. Though I prefer her personality in DA:O over her darker/serious personality in DA:I ......... well she seemed "hopeful" in the very end of my game. Ah, wish she can be a companion >_<
