Who thinks Leliana has the potential to be an enemy in DA4?
Leliana is one of my favourite characters, but someone can only take so much betrayal before they become vengeful.
Hypothetically scenario:
- Marjolaine seduces and discards Leliana, must endure betrayal from a lover and torture.
- Warden claims to love Leliana, then tosses her aside for Anora when the throne is in reach. Leliana finds him with Morrigan in Redcliffe before last battle.
- Divine Justinia claims to care for Leliana, but Leliana's services are too useful to her power/(or stability of the nation) to reach out and bring Leliana back from an increasingly downward spiral of expediency and ruthlessness.
- Inquisitor befriends and relies heavily on Leliana and her agents for the survival and expansion of the Inquisition, utilising their abilities far more than the other advisors. When the time comes to select a new Divine, the Inquisitor supports Cassandra; because either knowing that as his lover he will extend his power, or not wanting the rebirth of the Seeker order and another military faction to compete with.
Leliana, like a dagger under the pillow that is clutched so tightly during the long night, is then discarded by all at the first rays of dawn.
How many times can someone be cast aside or put in second place before they strike back? Leliana's faith has carried her a long way, but once both the Divine and the Herald of Andraste both use her, perhaps that religious faith will finally break?
So in DA4 I could potentially see a bitter and hateful Leliana, who would perhaps be a lieutenant for the Big Bad in the game, before he betrays her as well (as is the way of so many other badguy lieutenants).
end scenario / rant.
I really feel bad for Leliana, of all the characters in games I like, she has to be both one of my favourites, while also being one I feel most sorry for.
Darth Traya: It is the destiny of all beings to betray and be betrayed.

That you Leli?
