I don't think her 'returning to form' (not sure thats entirely true, anyway...) is reason to harden her.
Dunno about everyone else, but I'd rather she improve as a person rather than regress.
That was one of the many reasons I hated hardening her. By the time I got that letter, it was already too late.
Well this makes me think that I missed a letter. I remember her saying I'd gotten one in addition to her, but since I never saw it I figured it was just the text of the successful operation. Where is that letter found?

Whereas DAI Leliana is a driven, determined individual playing the Game because it serves the greater good. Which can drive her to greater ruthlessness.
Even unhardened DAI Leliana is hardly soft. I mean she's still the one giving you the "have them assassinated" options on the war table.

After Adamant Fortress, talk to Leliana. She'll have some very warm and fuzzy things to say about the Warden, and afterwards you'll get a war table mission that will end with the Inquisitor and Leliana getting letters.

Thanks for the response. I actually did that mission and just assumed I'd read the letter when I didn't see it in my quarters or Leliana's...attic.

Yeah, there's my trouble, thanks. I never check that. I wonder what I said to me? I'll have to check it tonight when I get home. Too late to un-screw up Leliana, I'll have to leave that to Other Me.

I only wish we could have snooped on the private letter 'of a personal nature' the Warden also sent Leliana. To my knowledge that's nowhere to be found.
Was hoping she'd leave it lying around her desk or something.... :S
I had the Inquisitor running around in circles looking for it.

Is that the letter Leliana apparently receives after the 'Contact the Hero of Ferelden' operation?

Yeah. It says there were two, one for the Inquisitor, one to be delivered privately.
Disappointingly, that private letter is...private. Damnit it was technically me who wrote it. Once. Kinda.

I know, right...
It was Morrigan in my playthrough but the outcome seems to be the same regardless. The letter you do get to see sounded like meaningless PR speech to me.

No way they'd let us read it, but maybe if we could get a scene where someone *cough* tries to steal/read the letter and gets caught by the its proper recipient... Heck, that would be a hilarious Josephine scene considering something Leliana did to her according to a war table banter...
Is there a compilation of war table banters somewhere? Some of them are hilarious.

Shame that the letter from my Morrigan romancing Warden doesn't mention her and Morrigan completely forgets about him if you didn't go in the eluvian with her. This is what I get for putting duty ahead of love.

It simply didn't seem important enough to intervene. She doesn't even ask for our opinion, we more or less overhear the whole thing.
If your Inquisitor is morally opposed to the assassination, then whether or not anyone is asking for their opinion, they should speak up.
Not sure how to make it make sense with the practical side of wanting to question him instead, but I guess that could just be an assertive Inquisitor. A human Inquisitor may very well be comfortable giving orders without being asked first.

I think it can work with all backgrounds. Mercenary, Carta thug, Dalish hunter/Keeper's First... They're all people who could give orders to others.
The last time I had this convo with her I got her to spare the guy and told her I expected better from her. She looked mad at me, but she complied. This Inquisitor is a 'tough love' kind of guy. Push people to be better and lead by example. He's fun. And head over heels for Cassandra. ![]()

Happy its private. A generic letter would likely not do justice.

Yeah, I actually agree with that. The letter for the Inquisitor was very business like and could get away with being generic...the personal one for Leliana would probably need to be different for every Warden. They wouldn't be business-like with her.

Ditto. My latest Inquisitor is a ginger, so it's a bit awkward when IB goes 'mmmh. Redheads'. If he is referring to Leliana though... I'll just head cannon my Warden getting a sudden urge to visit her lady love when that happens.

Because she's TAKEN!! RAWRRRR!! *ahem* Leliana is spoken for and the Warden is possessive. *nod nod*

She's only taken if she's taken.
And DAI Lelliana is clearly hardened, regardless of what happened in Origins. And hardened Leliana is a libertine. Hell, she'll jump into bed with Zevran, whom she doesn't seem to be too fond of before hardening her.
