My ideal expansion for DAI would kick off with the Inquisitor attending the coronation of the next divine. It gives us a reason to explore the rest of Val Royeaux, and for an event like that they've good excuses to throw in some cameos aswell :)

After that, have the Inquisitor investigate something on behalf of the Divine and let us bump into wardens, darkspawn, a certain wolf, depending on the plot :)

That sounds like a good layout, perhaps go with Varric's rule of adventures always starting with traps. So have an assassination attempt against Victoria and then her sending you to investigate. Or the next DLC will be activated at anytime like Dragon Age 2 DLC.

Not DLC, DAI needs a proper expansion, and I'd gladly throw my money at Bioware for two of em :D

Yeah I enjoy expansions like Awakening more then I do DLC like Legacy or Mark of the Assassin. I really still hope to have at least a cameo of the Warden in a DLC/Expansion. I'm even willing to settle for the Warden to appear in full warden armor with a helmet hiding their face. Have them wear the unique dark steel and gold warden armor from Soldier's Peak to make them stand out.

But I don't see why we couldn't just customize the warden like we did Hawke. Dragon Age Keep would have  the customization down to what race and gender you were and boom finished... But I fear Bioware is still going to enforce that "The Warden's story is over."

I already had resigned myself to the fact that the Warden's story is over, and that we would never see the character again, but then Inquisition tells us of his/her quest to cure the Calling. Couple that with the fact that Inquisitions core game barely has any darkspawn, and suddenly I am not so sure anymore.

We'll see eventually what they'll make of it, but the whole thing just screams future expac/DLC to me ;)

I really don't want to have an NPC Hero of Ferelden on screen.  I found Hawke jarringly out of character, and they have the advantage of a returning voice actor and the "personality" system.

That's the problem in a series where all the stories intertwine. The Warden could easily fit back into the story, but since dying was a possibility in the first game I don't think they will make the Hero of Ferelden come back in the flesh so to speak.

I wonder if any DLC we get for Inquisition will deal with red lyrium considering what we found out in Inquisition about it.

I get the feeling we're going to be exploring more about the blight in general considering red lyrium and the warden researching the calling.

Strange... I told Leliana I'd support her as Divine... but there's nothing on the war table. No support Leliana operation available either, upon reloading and talking to her again.

Is this a bug?

I'd love a Kal-Sharok expansion or DLC. The dwarven ruins and bits of the Deep Roads were great already, but they always felt like a tease, for more to come. And I really want more.

That being said, a Divine-related DLC, set in Val Royeaux, would be so much better, at least in my opinion. Maybe give us more chance to play the game, and get a good feel of how our chosen candidate would look on the Sunburst Throne. I wouldn't mind seeing such a DLC end Leliana's story and song in the world of Dragon Age permanently. No, I don't mean killing her off, but simply ending her story. As much as I llove Leli, it's time for other characters to take her place, I feel. And her appearing in DA4 might make for an outrage in the fandom. "Leliana is in everything!"

Alistair was awesome in DA:I. Especially Warden Alistair. Well, right up until the end. Then it was sad. :(

But yeah, you're right. It's just that most of the fans have already drawn their conclusions as far as Leliana goes in this regard.

As I keep saying, DAI needs a proper expansion, so why not both? :D

And yes I agree, we should get to explore how the next divine is in DAI, any appearances in future games would only be fitting as cameos in my opinion.

I just want to see Leliana take on the Game proper, be it as Divine or as the Inquisitor's spymaster. Sure, her being at the Winter Palace was great, but I kind of want something... more. But that's it with Leliana. I always want more.

So, I've been replaying DA:O (since I miss the non-murderous Leliana), and I got to the Circle tower where a templar is bewitched by a desire demon. Normally, my party for this quest is always Alistair and Morrigan, but I tried taking Leliana just for a change. I've always killed that demon in the past, but I decided to let her live this time and Leliana approves, because at least he's happy. Totally not expecting that.

Well Marjolaine seemed like kind of a demon (as in, she was a b*tch), but Leliana was happy with her. So....

The DA:O Toolset says of Leliana that "Her concept of good is more "nice" than "good"".  I guess letting the templar be happy with their demon comes under that.

I'd say she's rather changed from that in DA:I, but you could consider her "mages should be free" under that logic.

Well, they could always pull a Leliana's Song and make us take control of them again for it. Just let us customize them again, choose from a few voice actors, and boom.

I just really don't feel like the Warden's story is done anymore. Perhaps they just set up that curing the Calling quest and hinted at the Leliana reunion just for the purpose of headcanon, but I find it hard to do that when we're not sure whether or not it's a plot point for the future. Which it really felt like.

I just feel like there should be more to that.

I know I'm extremely late to the club, but I basically just started actually paying attention to the adviser input in war table missions, and this chick literally wants to assassinate everyone  I was just taken aback by the degree to which she has been hardened between Origins to now.

Incidentally, I was on a new playthrough and blitzed through the pre-Skyhold part of the game, and when I finally got there and started dialogue Leliana acknowledged to my Quizzy that he never took the time to talk to her or get to know her until now  :crying: This made me sad and almost consider reloading a few hours back just to talk to her in Haven... She may have just guilted me into making her you-know-what on this playthrough  :P

The discussions on who is best Divine reminds me of the DA:O days where people argued whether Alistair or Anora would be the better leader, how Alistair was too immature and disinterested in ruling Ferelden, how Anora was too power-hungry, yet in Inquisition those choices seem to hardly have any effect. Both leaders seem to do a pretty good job as King/Queen.

I think people are looking too deep into what Leliana/Cassandra/Vivienne would change once named Divine, as I don't think those will have any drastic effect in future DA games, especially DA4 since it seems it will take place in northern Thedas.

All three make great Divines, some of their decisions may be bad, but this isn't the first morally ambiguous decision we've had to make in Dragon Age and it won't be the last. There's no such thing as good or bad choice in this series, be it the Bhelen/Harrowmont or Mage/Templar decision.

For me, unhardened Leliana as Victoria is the best outcome, followed by Cassandra, but I didn't want to make her Divine because of her romance with my Inquisitor. At least Divine!Leliana will remain with my Warden regardless.
And it fits well with my headcanon for their romance; my older, more wiser Warden wanting to settle down and continue serving the Wardens from one place, while being near Leliana. He for sure loved adventuring with her across Ferelden after the Blight when they were younger, but he's had his share of thrill and travel. He's all for settling down and having a family now...before the taint takes him away from his love.

Hello all,

So, in my new playthrough I'm planning to make hardened Leliana the Divine. Yes, you read that right. Don't get me wrong, I love Leli as she is, but the prospect of moar drama in Thedas' future is too enticing to ignore. The question now is, how do I ensure I bring this about? The catch is that I'm also playing a nice-gal kind of Inquisitor, who only wants the best for everyone.

I'm just before the scene where she finds out about the traitor in Haven. If I don't intervene in the conversation, is that enough to start shifting her to hardened? Or do I explicitly have to say that killing the traitor is the right thing to do?

I read the thread about how to choose the Divine, and it says that handing Briana power will give mucho points for Leli. What does this mean exactly? Is it enough to reconcile Celene and Briala, or is it actually possible to make Briala empress of Orlais? That would be pretty extreme from a lore point of view.

Anything else I should look out for?

It's very easy to get her hardened, just let her go on about her stabby business and don't be critical of her.

As for choosing her as Divine, Leliana is big on freedom so supporting the mages will swing towards her.

Not preventing her from killing the traitor is enough to lock you out of softening her. So just say nothing. In terms of giving Briala power, I think that could mean either having her rule behind Gaspard, or having her and Celene reconcile. If you get all three to work together, I don't think this counts as giving her power. Dialogue after the mission suggests she lost out. Also, this is critical, in order to reconcile the two, you have to find the locket Celene's keeping behind a MacGuffin door and show it to both of them in the ballroom.

For my part, I allied with the mages and reconciled Briala and Celene, and Leliana became Divine. I supported her in conversation, but never had a war table mission. (perhaps because she was already winning?)

I'm starting to think the War Table mission to support a candidate is there if two or more candidates have an equal chance of being elected so that you can push the vote to the one you want.

Well, I got one for Vivienne and I can't imagine she was close to being elected in my PT. I didn't even bring her candidacy up in conversation, but I didn't bring up Leliana with her either. I was trying to be diplomatic... I was really nervous when I saw that she had a War Table mission and Leliana didn't. I needn't have worried, apparently.

It is incredibly hard to ignore the feels when I hear her laugh genuinely during her personal quest. The DAO feels are strong in this one.
