Strange... I told Leliana I'd support her as Divine... but there's nothing on the war table. No support Leliana operation available either, upon reloading and talking to her again.

Is this a bug?

There are certain requirements outside of telling them you will support them that you need to fulfill to make them Divine. I don't remember what but someone made a thread about it i'm pretty sure.

It's not to make her Divine, but rather to have the option to support her as a war table mission that I'm talking about. I mean, the Support Leliana operation does go to that objective, but I'm talking more about the journey (I want to support her) rather then the destination (she ends up becoming Divine). I'll go through with the operation of course, but there's no option available at all on the table. So it kinda renders the idea of "You'd make a good divine" pointless if I don't have the opportunity to support her (even should it fail in the end).

I supported the Mages and she mentioned that, but to be honest I've heard people give so many varying accounts where they say they did X when another person did Y and yet both got the same result that it can't be due to certain requirements can it?

Several people (including me) have talked about not getting the war table mission but still getting her as Divine. It may be a bug. It may be WAD if you've made a lot of decisions which would lend her candidacy support, such as allying with the mages and giving Briala power in Halamshiral. Backing up her politics and candidacy in conversation with her and others should help. If you've been doing most of these things, (especially the first two mentioned) you probably don't need to worry about not getting the war table mission.

I only had the war table mission for Cassandra too...and hardened Leliana became my divine (I'll try to to get "niceness before knives" Leliana on my second playthorugh). But I told them both that they would make good divines (Vivienne didn't even ask me. She told my inquisitor that she should support Cassandra  :D  ).

A little video from Dana Duchy with all the introductions at the Winter Palace. An interesting little tidbit about Leliana in there...

I haven't seen a wartable mission to support Leliana but I've gotten her both times as Divine.

I was wondering if we were going to get a surname reveal like we did Cullen. Guess she doesn't have one after all. :S

First game I freed the mages, didn't exile Wardens, Celene rules with Briala/Gaspard exiled.

Second game I conscripted Templars, Wardens not exiled again, Celene/Briala reconcile.

She was born out of wedlock. It makes sense she doesn't have a surname.

Yeah, that's what I always figured. We never really heard of her father much but I'd always assumed she was some Orlesian lord's bastard daughter with his servant or something.

Hard to say. Her father could have been a servant. Heck, her father could have been an Elf! We have seen that human trumps everything else genetics wise. Except maybe Qunari.

Heh...my Mahariel's face if she ended up being elf-blooded would be priceless. :S

Not to mention Leliana's face.

Leliana: Elves are valued as servants for their grace and elegance.

PC: Your mother certainly thought so.

Leliana: What?!

I found this while browsing DeviantArt. Spoilered for size and actual spoilers if you haven't finished Leliana's personal quest or a certain story quest.

That needed to be an option at some point. I mean it was with Varric. My Qunari gives warm, firm, healing hugs. :3

I would have done many nasty things to have a scene of her reuniting with her pets Schmooples II and Boulette. I want to see Leliana hug someone or something!

Aaand, one more video. Judging a box leads to interesting correspondence from Leliana.

I think it seems highly likely, and wouldn't be surprised if the writers confirmed Leliana is elf-blooded. Many people have speculated about this, given Leliana's fascination with everything regarding elves, her positive disposition toward an elven Warden (it's no surprise Leliana x Mahariel is probably one of the most popular Leli pairings out there, rivaling Leliana x Cousland).

The fact she supports Briala (an elf) for the throne strengthens this belief further and  she is also the best advisor for the Lavellan Inquisitor War Table missions. She seems to be really familiar with elven customs, society and language.

Regarding her parentage, I think her mother was an elf and her father was human. We know her mother was a servant to an Orlesian noblewoman, and that Lady Cecile had more than a few elven servants. (Leliana mentions after her mother's death she was taken care of by an elven servant of Cecile for a while). She seemed to understand elven language and learning their songs even when she was little.

It kinda makes more sense for her mother to have been an elf rather than human when she was a servant in Orlais given elves are more common in that department.

Wouldn't she have mentioned it though? She talked about her mother a fair bit to the Warden. She inadvertently makes a racist remark about Elves to an Elf Warden. I doubt she would have done that if her mother was an Elf. She would have considered herself 'part of the people' as it were. It makes more sense to me that, if she has Elven blood, it would come from her father, whom she didn't know.
