Ran across this compilation of war table banters
Hmm, yeah, I'm not sure her mother would have been an elf - in her dialogue with an elven Warden she says she knew very few elves, one would think her mother would have come up in that discussion were that the case.
Her father could have been I guess, but I still think he was probably just some Orlesian hanging around during the occupation. Maybe a relative of Cecile or something, or some soldier, whoever. I don't believe he ever came up, so I'm guessing either something happened or he ran off afterwards.
I'm pretty sure Leliana never knew her father. It could be that it was a one night stand even. We know her mother was Ferelden and that's about it. Loss and betrayal is kind of a thing for Leliana. Lost her mother, betrayed by Marjolaine, lost Justinia, betrayed by the Maker (Leliana certainly felt that way). If romanced by the Warden it could be another loss/betrayal depending on player choices.
I hope she gets an happily ever after eventually. She deserves it at this point.
My mom ironically could not stand to watch me play Origins because I'd listen to the stories that Leliana would tell the Warden, but likes her a lot more in Inquisition.
I think Leliana really evolved through the games.

Indeed.
Hence why, as I've said before, despite being my favourite character in the series I kind of hope her story is done if not made Divine. Would be nice to be able to think she's just off with the Warden, being happy for once.

That is definitely one development I didn't like. She sends the inquisitor to the library! What happened to "I love stories far too much to keep them to myself!" ?

Too busy with her position I take it. During the Blight she really didn't have a big role like commanding all espionage and missions. So being at camp the Warden could sit down by her and they could yimmer yammer all night.

Also she didn't sing. It would have been cool to wandering up to the Rookery and see her strumming the lute and playing/singing one of the bard songs.

*snip*
She does sing. It's just very brief.
I also thought of this wouldnt your warden be upset that if later he/she finds out that leliana just got to be divine without even consulting the warden first. It is a very big decision that affects them both.
I don't think it's a job that you can reasonably expect your loved one to turn down. It's too big a deal
I think it's something there would usually be a discussion about, but that's kind of hard to do with a continent between you.
It's not like she leaves the Warden if she does get elected anyway, I'm just going to take the fact she never brings it up as an indicator she had no intentions of following those particular rules from the get-go. When she said she'd let nothing come between them I guess she meant it.
If Warden marries Anora they can stay committed to one another, so probably from Leliana point of view this is no different. A political necessity that won't get in the way of her personal life with her love.
Well, hardened Leliana will stay in a relationship if they married Anora/Alistair. Otherwise she dumps the Warden. Though it's perhaps different since that's a relatively new relationship, not one that's lasted 10 years.
Though I do think the scandal of a relationship between a reforming Divine and an Elf or Mage could be extremely damaging. And even if Leliana is prepared to say "to the void with the rules", is the Warden necessarily OK with that?
Hardening isn't something really accounted for in the Keep.
Maybe indirectly, as some scenarios require a hardened character. But the only one that comes to mind is Alistair marrying Anora while allowing Loghain to become a Grey Warden.
You can still desecrate the ashes with an unhardened Leliana as long as she isn't in the party, or is that wrong?

Depends what kind of Leliana is divine. I doubt hardened would tolerate unrest caused by her private life whilst unhardened seems relatively successful navigating mediating the already pretty radical changes she is making.
As for the warden, well any relationship that's lasted 10 of periodical separation i'd expect to be able to cope with her becoming divine.

went to talk to her and had the Divine conversation. I didn't like the way that was done. Leli sounded like she'd just smoked the finest elfroot.
Flat out told her I didn't support her. Nope you need a break Leli...from all of that ish.
yeah I did the same my Inquisitor was with Cassandra but I'm more invested in The Warden x Leiana romance so I told her I wouldn't support her
Its time for a happy ending for both of them even earlier in the game she said that she will join the warden "for good this time" then suddenly she wants to become Divine ?? hell no

It would be easier not to support Leliana as the divine if she wasn't the perfect divine. There needs to be a better understanding between the mages and non-mages...and only Leliana ensures it. She abolishes the circles, and it works!
My warden was a city elf...not sure if that would be a problem. We know Celene gets away with it ![]()
