It would be easier not to support Leliana as the divine if she wasn't the perfect divine. There needs to be a better understanding between the mages and non-mages...and only Leliana ensures it. She abolishes the circles, and it works!

My warden was a city elf...not sure if that would be a problem. We know Celene gets away with it ;)

Meh. There was emphasis put on the 'For now.' after it said her reforms were successful, they could still go south. Cassandra reforms too, but in a way that's less likely to crash and burn. Circles still exist, but they're loosened and mages can govern themselves. That seems like the wiser course than tearing the entire system down. I still much prefer Cass for the role. Her conversations earlier on indicate she might improve the lot of non-humans as well.

Even with Cassandra there are some calling her reforms as going too far and talks have to happen. No one is perfectly happy with any of the new Divines.

Yeah, all of their endings are very similar.

Each of their slides starts out positive about how they control things peacefully as Divine and each slide ends with a slight but...

So yeah, all three Divines have their ups and downs, I guess its up to the player to decide who's best.

I think Cassandra is a better divine if you chose the templar path. But all of my major choices were Leliana choices (mage allies, reconciled Celene and Briala, allowed Wardens to stay), I guess she would become divine even without my support.

Very likely, I did the same except reconciling Celene and Briala, and after doing some variations in dialogue for the sake of experimenting (not supporting Leliana for example), it still seemed as if she was locked to become Divine.

As for the concept art, It seems to me that they did some changes to how you could behave as the Inquisitor in the final game. I just quite didn't get the impression you could act like the tyrant those concept arts depict. Shame we couldn't put the elder one's head on a pike though, that would've been awesome :D

edit: So I just read what Matt wrote under said concept art and wow...

Hmm, on my first playthrough I allied with the mages and had Celene as ruler, but supporting Cassandra made her Divine.

I'm still convinced having a lot of influence when you support a candidate can tip it in their favour regardless. Though that would make far too much sense, it's probably not how it works at all. :S

I mentioned this in this thread here http://forum.bioware...ons/?p=18109621

And it appears there was/is content regarding Leliana and Morrigan discussing her dress at the ball. Now it is just dialogue strings so you can't really tell if it's just text that got cut, a scene, wartable banter, voiced or how/if it's implemented but I assume it's Leliana that's talking giving how well it links to that DAO banter. The second part looks like it's via the Skyhold messengers that roam around.

Ditto. I would have loved to see interaction between Morrigan, Leliana and Kieran. Funny thing: in my game, Alistair was the father and Leliana seemed to know it. She remarked how polite Kieran was and that it wasn't surprising considering who the father was. I guess Alistair told her. I don't think Morrigan would have.

Or the Warden told her. Leliana seems to know how close she came to losing the Warden to the Archdemon, so I'm guessing they explained the Dark Ritual to her no matter who does it.

Same thing for my canon, Alistair is the father and she acknowledges it. Apparently it occurs with Loghain too, oddly. Didn't think Leliana was terribly fond of him...

Well, she was the only one to be openly friendly to him at first. He hated her on sight because she's Orlesian (culturally speaking), but dang did she try to make friends with him. DAO Leliana tried to be friends with everyone.

Well, the dog was too. :S

Gotta say though, didn't like him tearing her up for it but he had a point, she identifies as Fereldan but...she really isn't very Fereldan is she. :P

Well, genetically she's Fereldan (that red hair!) but culturally she's Orlesian. I'm pretty sure Fereldans don't make such a big fuss about shoes, the Grand Game and other such things.

That makes her exotic and familiar to both cultures. No wonder she ended up as the Nightingale of the imperial court.

Lurked for a while, wished to pitch in and say I really liked Leliana this game. I was a huge fan of her in DA:O, and while it made me kind of sad to see how her Sister Nightingale role sor tof hit the undo button on what my Warden tried to convince her of herself in DA:O, it was an interesting development, one that thankfully ended the way I liked because I had the foresight to suggest she should take Butler in for questioning rather than kill him. Who would have known that choice makes or breaks her. Interesting that it's kind of the reverse of how it was in DA:O - in Origins she's trying to act nice and soft on the outside but is actually tearing herself apart with doubt on the inside, leaving her liable to embrace what she fears to become or continue to strive for something better...then in Inquisition she's so sure the merciless spymaster persona is who she needs to be, and this time you can nudge her to a resolution that perhaps it isn't what she needs to be after all.

I hope you're happy, Warden.

Thank you BioWare for not going and making her a romance option again, by the way. Her whole star-crossed lovers thing she had with my Warden, and her longing remarks about her gave me serious feels. I'd take that over throwing that away with a new romance any day of the week. :')

Y'all who managed to unharden her on their first run, without meta-gaming...I'm jealous. I wish I knew. :S

Wonder how many actually managed to do that, statistically. Killing Butler was something I hardly even thought of first time around.

Managed it easily enough. This is a Bioware game and playing Mass Effect taught me to hammer the upper right option every time during a first playthrough and then roleplay the second go in.

Yeah, I'm usually doing the roleplay thing the first run, and I didn't really feel like it was my Inquisitor's business to tell her how to do her job at that point. I just stayed silent.

I was so happy when I had both Morrigan and Leliana at Skyhold at the same time. I was even happier when I had Alistair at Skyhold at one point as well, so I had all three at the castle simultaneously.

I've never been more disappointed about something not being in a game than I am now. Regarding the interaction between these three. Why does it hurt so much. Ugh. I'm gonna play Origins and watch the three interact again.

Thinking about it, Bioware should have had this cutscene in DA:O when getting into the final room where Andraste's ashes lies and there is a huge wall of fire blocking your path.

[Leliana, Morrigan, Alistair and the Warden walks into the room]

A - Great, a huge wall of fire. Just when I thought things were getting easy.

W - Morrigan, can you dispell it somehow?

[Morrigan tries a varity of spells and tricks to no avail]

M - Tis' seems the temple's spells are too powerful.

W - Anyone else got any suggestions?

[moment of silence]

L - I've got an idea! LET'S GET NAKED! [Begins stripping off armor and clothes]

Doing nothing just negates you making a choice.. As a general rule, it's something I always want to do. Be part of the game somehow.

I've seen what not taking a choice looks like though. It seems better than outright encouraging her. She doesn't take any pleasure in it that way.

Just saw her role in the Redcliffe mission. That mission had so, so much potention to trigger an romance with her. Single Leliana really should have been an option.

Not going to lie I ship her with the female mage qunari from the demo so hard

The Warden probably told her.

In my playthrough the canon was a male Cousland Warden who romanced Leliana and did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan. In DA:I there was conversation with Leliana where she tells the Inquisitor that she's thankful for what Morrigan did (referring to the DR) because without it, the Warden would be dead.

So I'd guess that the conversation with the Warden occurs regardless of who did the DR.

Actually Leliana's ethnic background is partially Orlesian as well. She's half Orlesian and half Ferelden.

In DA:O in one of the dialogue options with the Warden she reveals that her father was Orlesian. It only happens in one dialogue choice so it is easy to miss. Its also the only time as far as I'm aware that she ever mentions her father.

My impression of her background given the time frame, is that her mother probably fell in love with someone who was connected to the Orlesian occupation of Ferelden in some capacity, whether military or civilian. That might explain why her mother left Ferelden. In the real world, look at how the French or Dutch women who were involved with German soldiers were treated following the liberation of those countries in World War Two. I would imagine a similar mood would be present in Ferelden following Orlais' withdraw.

I did that too, I just could not make Celene reunite with Brialla, I think I have to do something more at the palace for this option to be enabled, other than that I supported the Mages and the Wardens... (die Templars diiiiee! :P ).

I tought it was so stupid that if you support the Templars all you get are some "low ranking soldiers"  (it would be much better if we had the Seekers instead  !) No way they would help to close the breach like the mages and the missions to get templar's support were so "meh"... no fun for me...besides, all my Inquisitors are pro-mage
