She still loves the Warden, as was made abundantly clear in DAI. I don't imagine you'd even get the option in a world-state where that happened. Leliana wouldn't do that.

I'd still keep Warden/Leliana as my canon if the hypothetical option did exist. Because the feels her references to the Warden in DA:I bring>>>>>>>Another romance, tbh.

Oh I know... but if the option were there when she didn't romance the Warden... sorry, Warden :P

Because I'd never break up the Warden and Leliana...

but yeah, the feels brought up by her references to the Warden in DA:I are enough anyway. Poor Leliana, though.

I wasn't fond of how they were too lazy to set it in Orlais and just stuck it in Denerim, but more Leliana is more Leliana.

Since it's bookended by Leliana telling a story to someone, I think that we play through the version of the story she is telling and not necessarily the real events. Basically I think the DLC is similar to the initial exaggerated intro to DA2 that turns out to be Varric stretching the truth.

It's the only thing that makes sense IMO, since the story she tells the Warden differs significantly in some details from what we saw in the DLC. Also the rather lighthearted manner of Leliana's narration in the DLC suggests she is in story-teller mode (like a Bard) rather than spelling her guts to a close companion or lover, like she does in DA:O. Where the two versions of that story differ, I think the version told in the main game is the correct one.

Or at leas that's my head canon to fix the discrepancies. I'm not sure if the devs ever gave it much thought beyond, "Hey we need to set this in Ferelden so we can reuse old assets."

Does anyone know who Leliana's friend that has two names and that she misses dearly? Is it the Warden(imported world state where they are together)? This happens at the end of Cole's quest, when he wonders how will he put honey in her wine.

Welp just did some fast traveling out of skyhold and back and got the Sera stealing Josie underthings one  . Can't believe I missed these maybe it's because I usually fast traveled to her.

Sigh, I'm finishing the game and I never got any of these dialogues. The only dialogue I can trigger when I go to the rookery is:

"At your service, my lady"

"Anything I should know?"

"I've nothing to report at the moment"

"I'll leave you to your work"

-_-

The gossip in Val Royaux is usually right, if my 2 first runs are any indication.

Yeah, there's always been chatter about the right hand becoming Divine in my playthroughs, and Cassandra has always become Divine afterwards.

Well you don't actually talk to her. When I go up the stairs to her sometimes the research lady is telling a messenger stuff so I stop and listen to that. Then I go up the stairs to Leliana and sometimes there is a messenger and they banter together which is kind of funny since they usually aren't even facing each other and are far apart. The messengers aren't always there so you may have to leave and return a few times. For me Cullen's messenger is a female dwarf and Leliana's is a male human and I have only seen them with the advisors, I haven't seen them with the companions yet.

I was skulk... wandering in the rookery and I came across this note. Leliana apparently plays favorites...

Leliana has a convo with a messenger but I have no idea who 'he' and 'she' are.

Leliana: *angry* I thought this obsession was over. Has he been drinking?

Messenger: I don't know. I'm just the messenger.

Leliana: Tell him to drop it. I am not going to discuss what she was like.

Ideas? I'm guessing 'she' is either the Warden or Marjolaine and someone is asking for dirty details.

Another one.

Leliana: Why not tell me in person?

Messenger: You make him nervous. *dramatic tone* Her eyes stare into my soul.

Leliana: He has a soul?

I have a sneaking suspicion...

Spoiler

Also this:

Messenger: *reading Josephine's note* Leliana, the interlude is for us to connect as colleagues and friends lest we lose sight of shared goals in the fog of petty differences. I am deeply disappointed.

Leliana: She used the word disappointed? Merde! (sh*t)

Messenger: The Lady Ambassador wields guilt like a knife.

Sounds like it might be related to Cullen's Amell/Surana infatuation.

Thought he had more tact that to pry about it twice, though.

Hmm...can't really see that as Blackwall. He's too broody and secluded.

He does ask Sera, yeah, but they're, like, total BFFs. He's way more open with her.

Is 'merde' the only French (Orlesian) word Leliana has used in dialogue?

I can't recall any others.

She uses 'petits fours' at the end of the game. And it sounds sexy.

Iron Bull then? He drinks and he has a thing for redheads... and he wouldn't be shy about asking.

The 'he has a soul' part makes me think it's not Cullen. He's not afraid of her for one, and she doesn't dislike him. She sounds nasty when she says that. It must be someone she really doesn't like. I think it might be Blackwall. He is afraid of her. He doesn't want to use any word but nice to describe her because he doesn't want to wake up with a dagger in his kidneys.

And she would have reason to dislike him.

It's tricky... but I am getting an Iron Bull vibe. Just a little bit.

Blackwall is a possibility as well, though.

Offtopic somewhat, but one thing I like about Leli in DAI is that her role makes sense no matter how you handled her in DAO. I like her romanced just as much as a world state where you killed her at the Sacred Ashes.. her attitude makes sense whatever you do. I probably prefer it though if your Warden is dead (romanced) or you killed her. That puts her in a dark place (but something I'd like my Inquisitors to help her out of).
