I'm trying to appreciate hardened Leli more but it's not happening organically.

Seriously. We get a song about Sera of all people, but not about the person whose sacrifice ended the Fifth Blight? And if that bard belts out Empress of Fire one more time when I go visit Cole, I will ... do something that my spirit buddy will probably disapprove of.
I'd have loved a special scene with Leliana performing that ballad for her closest friends among the Inquisition, maybe on the eleventh anniversary of the Battle of Denerim. Between Hawke this and Hawke that, and various references to and from a surviving Warden, a little nod to the folks who chose the sacrifice wouldn't have been amiss.
I agree, it would have been better if we'd gotten a ballad of the Fifth Blight written by Leliana, since she mentions having written songs about her time with the Warden when Hawke meets her in DA2.
It'd have been nice to hear a triumphant one for Wardens who lived and a more sad and melancholy one for those who didn't.

Leli talmbout she doesn't like her thighs. Girl, stop. Those thighs are meant to conjure praise to whatever god one serves.
I'm trying to appreciate hardened Leli more but it's not happening organically.
Those two elements combined reminded me of those 'buns of steel' bootcamps.
I'll show myself out.

What i hope is that it is more behind it then just finding a "cure", that it is a mystery and it involves stopping the blights once and for all.
I have always felt that in romance with leliana, that it sounds the warden is selfish. When talking to leliana, nowhere in the conversation does it say that it for every grey warden. A scenario like this is what im hoping for:
Warden says in conversation: " finding the cure for the calling was partially true, but the whole truth is a bit more complicated. If i told leliana the whole story....i dont know how she would have reacted. I didnt want to give her the ultimatum between divine justinia and me. It was safest for her that way"
Then at least it sounds more importent.

Wait a second, I was just playing DA2 and...
Inquisition flat-out states Leliana joined Justinia and became Left Hand of the Divine upon her coronation in 9:34.
So...what the heck is Leliana doing at Chateau Haine if you do MOTA in act 1? In 9:31? With Cassandra mentioning they 'had someone there.'
I realize it's probably just something they hadn't considered but I guess for immersion's sake I'm only ever doing MOTA in act 3 now. Didn't make much sense even before DA:I, makes absolutely zero now. ![]()

Never really made much sense even before DA:I tbh given that we already knew Dorothea hadn't become Divine yet.
The one time I did MOTA in Act 1 I kind of just plugged my ears for Cassandra's line about the Chantry agent thing, imagined she was just there for the cheese, and that my Warden was sh*t-faced drunk in a bush somewhere. Made more sense that way. :S

Piffle! The Warden was warming the bed! Leliana likes the sheets nice and warm. ![]()

I always do Mota in Act 3.. I thought that was recommended by the devs themselves. Same with Legacy.

That works too. I doubt Leliana would have been able to drag my reclusive-arse Dalish girl off to some fancy Orlesian party so soon after that final coronation fuss anyway. :S

Both of them do seem to work much better there.
I do think Legacy could work in act 2, though. But I kind of prefer the sibling interactions in the act 3 version, tbh. Same with the Leandra scene, because I'm a sap.

Well, the living warden already got the war table letter. So I reallt think only a dead warden should get a ballad tbh.Seriously. Well, she was going for an audience with a Grand Cleric as early as Awakening. So she was probably doing some sort of work for the Chantry before she was left hand

So what is the difference between doing MOTA in Act 2 to doing it in Act 3? Also what about Legacy? Personally I think Legacy was the best DLC Bioware made, by the way.

I found this kind of interesting. Patrick Weekes did an interview here about all sorts of stuff
http://www.nerdappro...patrick-weekes/
He starts talking about faith and at around 38:30 he comments how similar the arcs of Leliana and Cory are about being burnt believers and how they adapt to it. Never really thought about it like that. I thought it was interesting.

Well, never thought about that connection before. To be honest, when I was very early in the game I thought Leliana had the potential to become a villan in Inquisition, because of the same reason as Corypheus; they were both betrayed because of their devotion to the Maker, but I doubt Corypheus had someone like the Warden and Quizzy to sway him away from the dark path, so Leliana has that going for her, which is nice. :3

So far, I've never been much into Leliana fandoms, but after playing DA:I, I think Leliana is the most remarkable, fleshed out character I've seen in a video game. The aspects of her personality and the development she goes through is just amazing.
From the first appearance of her as a naive cloister sister "let's just all be friends and talk this out" to the scarying spy master who will kill without a second thought, she has come a long way. And she's everything: the sister, the storyteller, the spy, the archer, the killer, the political player, the fashion victim, the humble servant of the maker and the one going through an religious crisis, the sinner and the saint.
One moment, she loves to talk about shoes and how to play naughty on a party, the next, she chokes her torturer with her legs.
There are so many sides to her, so many moods, but they all fit together. I really think the writers have done an amazing job with her!

Leliana is probably the character I could most see becoming a villain, as her character has struggled with her dark side in both Origins and Inquisition.
Not that I'd actually like to see it ever in canon, but if we were to have another Alternate Universe DLC, it'd be an interesting twist to have. Perhaps in a universe where the Inquisitor did not survive their initial attempt to seal the Breach during the Prologue, her hopelessness and despair over Justinia's death ended up consuming her and causes her to lose her faith altogether?

I like Leliana a lot, I just have a hard time trusting she won't flip back into callous brutality yet again after I manage to soften her a bit. She definitely has a "potential villain" vibe about her, especially if you don't try to pull her back from the abyss. That makes it really hard for me to decide between her and Cassandra for the Sunburst Throne. Cassandra is far more stable in her personality ... but she's also so utterly straightforward and no-nonsense that I fear a position that requires some political acumen would eat her alive. As refreshing as her impatience with pomp and circumstances is, she'd really need someone like Leliana to keep things from falling apart.

My Warden was with Leliana but sacrificed herself -- I could never pick another ending, really, it was simply perfect for what I wanted from that game. Going by Leliana's dialog, that is probably part of the reason why she went Bardic scary mode again despite me not "hardening" her in Origins. I think Leliana's situation and personality in Inquisition actually make the most sense with the Warden either dead or not very close to her.

The living Warden's letter also gives some serious incentive to unharden her, which I like.

Leliana as a villain? Only way I could really see that working is if hardened Leliana became Divine and forgot why she fought in the first place; if mercilessly uprooting people who she saw as a threat to her Chantry and the peace she was trying to create gradually became tyrannically crushing any and all dissent. Being the ultimate authority, alone at the top, I could imagine her feeling more and more justified in her actions.
Otherwise, I just don't see it; in the Inquisition, being surrounded by equals and people she likes/respects would keep her grounded I think, and I'm not sure unhardened Divine Leliana would compromise her principles in favour of results.
