Since we're discussing it, what does Morrigan have to say about the different Wardens? The only one I remember was US, in which she said the thing she regrets most is how they parted. Looks like the best thing that could happen to Zev is not getting caught up in all of this for a change

She sounded pretty sad that things didn't end better between them for me, but said it had to be. That was about the only reference I got.

Which was sad, because my Warden was basically her sister. There should have been more. The female Warden/Morrigan friendship arc was seriously one of the most moving things in the game, hearing her call my Warden a sister one last time would have been enough to put the feels into overload. ;_;

Hm, that is a tad disappointing. I agree, the female friendships in DA have always felt really well done, Morrigan's especially so. Cassandra's reminded me a bit of it, in fact (even if I do wish she were a LI). Aside from the specific romanced characters, a lot of the DAO crew's interactions were a bit...lacking, I thought. Especially since you can have a big dysfunctional family reunion of sorts in Skyhold and nobody even really mentions it.

I'm still not sure what the dialogue for a non-romanced, ultimate sacrifice Warden is.

Just did a quick speed run through the prologue with the default world state and got this:

Yeah. I was really hoping there'd be a scene with all three of them reminiscing a bit if Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana are all in Skyhold at once. Serious missed opportunity.

Cool. No where near as heartstring pulling as the dead romanced Warden dialogue, but still. Now I wonder if there's unique dialogue for a Warden who 'killed' her and died. Maybe he/she gets a 'good riddance.'

Actually, a living Warden romancing her gets more dialogue than a dead one. The gushy conversation where she gives you the operation to find the Warden obviously doesn't happen with a dead Warden, nor does the mention of them at Valence.
Whether a dead Warden fits more...that's a matter of debate. The letter from my Warden begging my Inquisitor to keep Leliana in the light was one of my feelsiest moments in the game, and added a whole new layer to that whole choice of softening her. I also just liked the feeling I got with my Warden and her, that she was basically the one last light in Leliana's life, but she's far, far away for who knows how long. The little glimmer of hope she gets after the letter was pretty 'd'aawww' worthy.
It was pretty endearing in general, how the Warden seemed to be the one thing that could lift her spirits.
A dead Warden fits better if you plan on a hardened Leliana, I suppose.

It'd also make her having no reservations about becoming Divine whatsoever a little less jarring.

Actually there is dialoiuge about a dead warden in valance. instead of ' i came here with the hof after the blight' its 'i needed 'something' after the hero of feralden died' and another dialouge about a dead warden, when u investigate an item there.

Thanks for the video, again, mrcrazyman! I won't be seeing it either, so it's interesting to see the other side of things.

As for Warden Alistair...yeah, I've got two world states with him, one US and one where I had him to do the Dark Ritual. He's pretty angry either way; either the Warden overshadowed him and he's sick of constantly hearing about her and people asking what it was like traveling with them (and I imagine he feels a bit useless when he missed the opportunity to be king and let a good friend die for him), or he, as you say, claims they've joined the dark side, as it were :P

Actually, if you do wicked eyes and wicked hearts before adament, get morrigan, and then finish adament she will ask if you saw the hof there. i forget the actual dialouge, but it does suggest that she is friends with them. i ha e a save near there and can reload it to find what she says exactly.

That reminds me of some pretty awesome fanart I stumbled across today. It made me laugh. Source http://ryuunafadoodl...dark-red-velvet

Hmm, interesting, I never got that far with an ultimate sacrifice import.

What's the dialogue when you're investigating?

Not to mention if Alistair is Kieran's father and you've got Fiona there too.

Actually, throw in Hawke, who could've known or been in a relationship with several of the Warden's companions, and Varric's next book is all but writing itself.

Oh, that sounds vaguely familiar. Showing a bit of concern is something, at least. Especially coming from Morrigan when she doesn't really know the Inquisitor that well.

And that fanart! I so wanted a conversation or something between them about the dress :D I think there's something (indirectly) about it, something like a messenger saying her son picked it and Leliana saying he's got good taste. Or perhaps it's in the code but not the final game? I'm not sure.

And since we were talking about Barkspawn, I've always headcanoned that Leliana took care of him after my Warden died. Since he's not around Skyhold I guess I'm going to have to accept that he died.  :(

Well, it is a large dog who is full grown in DAO which takes place a decade prior. Chances are Barkspawn has passed away, yes. :(

I did the same but was perfectly happy to pretend he's just so old, he couldn't really make the trip so he's with Schmooples II being cared for by some poor unsuspecting Inquisition agent

My "canon" world state prior to DAI was unhardened Leliana romance/US Warden...with Warden Alistair. Was not the happiest playthrough, to be sure.

As much as I dislike Orlais and its politics, the fact that same-sex paramours are announced as matter-of-factly as opposite-sex ones is the one thing about it all that makes me smile. (If memory serves, one of the ambient NPC introductions done by that herald features two women, too).

The real question is, how the heck does that work out if Leliana becomes Divine?

The Divine is mistress to the Queen of Ferelden, and the Queen of Ferelden is 'mistress' to the Divine? :S

The real answer is 'mess with either of them and the other will rain death and misery upon you'.

I imagine they'd silently approve though, because that's precisely the kind of scandal that Orlesians live for. The minstrels would have material for ages. :P

Let's not forget that Divine Leliana has a nug in her official portrait and likes to prank people by hanging their smallclothes to flagpoles and Chantry boards.

And of course "Run if you ever see her with a twine ball, a measuring stick, and a handkerchief" :P

What's the dialogue when you're investigating?

I tried to load up a  save from my first playthrough, to find it but the only save files are an early haven file, one near the well, and post game. So I can't go back and do the valence quest again without going through that state for 50+ hours just for dialogue. (PS3 onsole peasant 30 save file limit across all playthroughs..including auto saves)

Once I get cheatengine working on P.C I'll go back and playthrough US state again.

It means the divine could  be seen as  having too much of a vested interest with the enemy..rebellions galore! And the Queen could also be seen as a traitor..to the feralden people...

I don't see it working out longterm for them..

I would figure something would have to give. The logistics would be a nightmare. Considering that if you take the throne while romancing Leli it's made clear that it's simply a political power grab I would imagine Divine Lels Victoria wins out. Fereldan is just a country but with the Divine you have half a continent not to mention it's the Divine! Of course this is assuming the HOF actually cures the Calling and returns.

A part of me wonders if Leliana would use the situation to her advantage. Maybe even spread the rumours  herself, so that it would create a situation where the Queen would step-down due to political pressure. And because the HOF is no longer queen, Lelianna would have the HOF back to being 100% hers.  I imagine there would be resentment on the hero's end for it..

There is only one situation more messed up than  the queen-consort romance.

Male COusland  who romanced Lelianna, married Anora, and fathered kieran.. I do not see that relationship surving at all.

Well to be fair the HOF kind of did the same to her by taking the throne in the first place.
