Yeah.

This is why I hope my Warden cures herself and washes her hands of the whole thing.

Yeah, it's relatively easy for male Wardens, but I was glad to see that my Warden (and everyone's surviving Warden) was off in hopes of avoiding that whole gruesome nonsense. Honestly, my Warden would be an idiot to do the Calling after seeing all that crap and hearing Hespith's creepy ass rhyming. I sure hope Ser Ruth dies before she meets such a fate.

Badly, I suspect. I've said it many times, being Divine is the last thing she needs. >.>

I like that we have a respectful disagreement on such a major issue and yet continue to co-exist peacefully in this thread. Truly, we're the very model of scientist salarians real fans.

I agree to disagree...if it will keep the peace :)

I for one flat-out ignore the rape implications and the "female Wardens (can) turn into broodmothers, are thus a colossal threat to the world by aiding the very enemy they were sworn to fight, and shouldn't even be allowed to exist" BS. Any Bioware writer who wants to contradict me on that can sod off, after apologizing for the fact that female Wardens weren't even worth considering when they wrote that lore. I don't need or want gendered crap like that in my games.

I like many Bioware games, truly. But I won't pretend they don't put some things in there sometimes that range from "seriously aggravating" to "hugely problematic".

Maybe we should just drop this topic since it just keeps going in circles

Didn't Gaider confirm female Wardens about to undergo the Calling can either go to the Deep Roads or commit ritual suicide?

I don't remember that.

The only thing I've ever seen regarding the subject is from this interview.

Spoiler

The topic will go in circles for a long time, which is a testament to Bioware handling said choice in Inquisition very well in my opinion. :D

Yeah, I tend to rag on that ending for her a lot, (can't help it, it...bothers me.) but I know it's kinda split down the middle with people who like and dislike it. I'm surprised a more significant disagreement has never broken out in this particular thread. :S

Personally, I'm glad it hasn't. Debate is welcome but people seem to really get up in arms about it elsewhere. I can see both sides of the arguement so I'm not really in either camp but I think most people on this thread just like Leliana and want her to be happy one way or another.

And not to make things worse...Cassandra offers to be Leliana's Right Hand if she becomes Divine, does anyone know if she offers the same to Vivienne? And I assume, regardless, Leliana does not pick up the mantle of the Left Hand again, yes?

Cassandra offers to be Right Hand in Leliana's ending, but she turns her down for whatever reason. I'm not sure if she offers with Vivienne, but the two respect each other so I wouldn't be surprised if she did.

As for Leliana becoming Left Hand again...I highly doubt it, and hope not. Justinia released her because of the suffering conscience the role brings, I'd rather she drop that for good and not look back, tbh.

I doubt she does take up the role again though. She seemed pretty done, plus she planned on going back to a romanced Warden, and the Left Hand position was one of the things standing between them in the first place.

I don't know why she offers anyway, she tells you back at Haven she doesn't want to do that anymore

I kind of wondered why she turned her down in my playthrough. I mean, they get along well enough and they'd been working together for years already. I'd think perhaps the Warden would have something to do with it but that was my US Surana so...

I agree on the Left Hand thing, I'd really rather her just get away from all of it, for her own sake. She mentions in some endings staying with the Inquisition, which I suppose would still be better. And like you said, maybe she can finally get some peace with a romanced Warden when it's all said and done.

Probably because she feels that it is her duty.

She says she probably wouldn't do it again. She says it depends on who becomes Divine.

I have seen some people headcanoning she had the Warden in mind for the position, but yeah, it happens for everyone, so...hmm.

I guess making them Right Hand would eliminate some suspicions on why they're together so much.

"I'm, uh...bodyguarding."

*insert right hand joke here*

I don't think the Warden could be either the Right or Left hands of the Divine, just because some versions aren't Andrastian. One thing both Cassandra & Leliana have in common is that they are rather pious, in their own ways.

Well, yeah, if she became Divine in my ending I imagine my Dalish would be an extremely...controversial pick for Right Hand. But with everything Leliana does, I get the impression she wouldn't care overly much.

She'd certainly be loyal to protecting the Divine's interests, anyway.

Mmh... A Dalish Warden as Right Hand...

I am the blade that fells her foes

I am the shield that deflects blows

Her soul with the Maker resides

But in my arms her soft heart hides

Two faiths in one path intertwine

I am the Hand of the Divine

I'll let myself out.

I don't think so! That's awesome!

Unless you're going next door to the Sera thread, in that case, I'll leave them wide open... :P

Edit: Figures, that's exactly where she disappeared off to!

Aww, shucks.

I don't usually do poetry style, but I've been wanting to explore that particular style of writing. I need to brush up on the technical stuff.

Well, a little improvement, and soon we'll all know you by name as one of the greatest poetesses of our time!

(that sentence is dead serious, no pun or anything intended - just in case I need to say that...)
