Well I didn't give her all of them when I found them. Did anyone else carry an Andrastes Grace in their inventory throughout Awakening for the same but opposite reason of headcanon for the Warden to be reminded of her?

yes

I was just giving her gifts for no reason other than to hear 'Oh, how dear of you! Thank you so much!' :S

YES

I've heard that line enough times for it to still echo in my head years later. ^_^

YESSS

...I'll be in my bunk.

I always gave the first one to her when her approval was only at 'interested' (Give flowers, get a kiss on the cheek. Wuahaha.) but by the time I found the next batch she already had max approval anyway. I was just giving her gifts for no reason other than to hear 'Oh, how dear of you! Thank you so much!' :S

I like the 'Why, thank you so much' line too. She sounds so surprised.

If you can, you might as well consider replaying the game on PC. That's what I did after playing the 360 version for two years. The PC Ultimate Edition has been on sale for as low as $4.99 (USD) more than a few times now.

Game feels wholly different on PC.

No, but I did in Origins. I just waited until I got the dialogue about Andraste's Grace being her mothers favourite and how she misses that scent of the flower...then I give them to her as a gift.

So lovely to see her eyes light up with happiness. :)

I've actually memorized where you find them, and that dictated what order I do the main quests in. I like to give it before they're actually in a relationship but after she's mentioned their significance, just because the Warden going out of their way to comb Ferelden up and down to find one after that is kinda diabeetus-sweet. :S

Wuahahah.

I'm planning on playing again soon myself.

Just need to reinstall the rest of the bazillion mods I like to use. It's a long process. :S

I don't think I even finished my first playthrough before making the switch to PC. The gameplay simply screamed KB&M to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the isometric camera when I made the switch.

Eh I only have one Warden I ever play with, and thus I'm pretty sure I have a file sitting around somewhere that just makes her my first preset. Makes my life much easier.

Spoiler

I have been tempted to go into the toolset and try to brush up consistency by making Leliana look a bit closer to her DA:I appearance doe. The mod I use right now is close enough though, with some tweaks. Like the old ginger hair again.

Spoiler

She's a bit more frail-looking in DA:I.

Then we get to Skyhold and agree to become a leader so technically we're everyone's boss from then on, but I feel the Advisors are not just soldiers we can order around expecting absolute obedience. We may be the Inquisitor but they're the ones who keep the Inquisition going. :P

Yeah, we definitely call the shots, but a good leader knows when to delegate and stay out of her specialists' hair to avoid stressing everyone out (more). Plus, I think by the time we get to Skyhold, there's probably a bond of trust between the leadership -- and I count Cassandra in that circle too -- or they'd never have handed us all that power. I imagine the five of them as a relatively harmonious group when it comes to leading the inquisition ... most of the time. My Karis has a huge respect for what the advisors do.

I have a headcanon that sometimes, when Leliana is thinking of/worrying for/getting sad about the Warden, Cole goes out and finds that place where those Andraste's Grace flowers grow in Redcliffe, and subtly leaves them for Leliana.

Aw. :) As someone who adores our spirit buddy, I may happily borrow that headcanon. It makes perfect sense, and adds a little weight to the Warden's impact on Leliana. He can't really pop over to Redcliffe as quickly and easily as the game pretends (everyone zips across the continent like we had teleporters and that gets silly at times), but "my" Cole will absolutely keep an eye out for that flower on now when the group's out and about.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Strolling around Redcliffe, Cole wanders off to some hill to pick flowers. Varric's probably all "Kid? What are you doing?" and Cole's all "The Left Hand remembers wildflowers, they brought her back to a time she couldn't remember, now they bring her back to a time she wishes was still real..." or something.

And just that small little thing that reminds her of when the Warden used to give them to her whenever she found them makes her feel a little bit better, somehow.

;_;

I've thought that before too.

I also like to headcanon that the tiny box in the rookery, the one that Sera doesn't want to mess with in the pranking scene because it might be personal, is basically her 'Warden box.' Just a few little things to hold onto, and if it's a Warden who died, basically the last few belongings to remember him/her by. Which isn't much since they basically spent all of their time together on the road in that case. Good thing they didn't mess with it.  :crying:

^ What mod is that animation from? It actually seems to take the female elf/human female height difference into account unlike the vanilla one which has her shoot up somehow.

I don't have all my stuff installed anymore after I switched over to an SSD drive, but it's probably LRS.

Or MRS.

Or something with an abbreviation that ends with R and S.

Now I'm curious what is in the box, damn it. It would have been cool to see Leliana go all knify just as Sera opens the box. Especially for a dead warden, and if sera broke something...

That's my headcanon as well, and I'm glad Sera decided to respect Leliana's privacy without a second thought. I like Cole and I know he just wants to help, but a little more consideration for personal boundaries wouldn't harm.

I have to wonder how much help he really is. He goes straight to the problem and solves it then makes people forget about him. Besides, there will always be new problems along the way and those people are not learning to cope on their own, so there will always be a need for spirits like Cole. It creates a dependency of sorts.

So in a way twisted way, Cole is a bit like substance use/abuse.

*That sounds crazy. No wonder I like Leliana so much. I'll let myself out.*

I had the same thought in that scene.

Though, I wanted them to open the Warden's box xd

That sounds dirty.

I also wanted to read the Warden's letter to Leliana instead of the one she sent the Inquisitor. Too bad they didn't get mixed up by accident.
