Just more random Leli screens. Can't stop taking them it seems. :S

Hah, my Leliana romance Warden is a female dwarf. You should see what happens when you kiss her then, she kind of awkwardly gets down on her knees and proceeds to make out...on her knees...

Guess it beats DA:I's dwarves magically getting taller/qunari magically getting shorter.

Stand on the stump and they're still too short, eh.  :P

I remember seeing somewhere that one of the scenes for Iron Bull with a dwarf actually has them standing on a stool. No idea where it came from, just appeared there for the moment.

I know someone drew a comic of it.

Here.

Lol, yes  I have seen that too. Although I'm sure there are advantages to being that short >_>

yes. I'm not sure what the official medical terminology is for such a thing but she has heavy...co-dependency issues. maybe even identity dependent issues or again whatever the term is officially called.

i think that is why I'm quick to get angry when the writing traumatizes her further...that dependency comes from trauma, imo.

I think that is probably linked to her childhood. Her father either skipped out or died when she was young (I lean towards the latter), or even before she was born, because in DA:O she only makes one brief mention of him. It stands out in comparison to her mother, whom she seems to have more memories of. And it seems likely that her mother died when she was fairly young as well, since she is gone by the time of DA:O and Lady Cecile sounds like a guardian of sorts.

I think she has a tendency to latch onto people because of that.

That reminds me: Leliana seems rather fond of Sera, who was also raised by an elderly noble lady who died when Sera was still fairly young. I wonder if Leliana knows? Maybe she sees something of herself in Sera.

Leliana seems to keep a tight eye on everyone the Inquisition recruits. She likely knows even more about these guys than the Inquisitor.

Except Blackwall. There is a bit of messenger tag where she finds a discrepancy in his story, but she decides it's not a priority so she doesn't investigate.

Tsk tsk. Letting personal feelings interfere with the job. Bad Leliana! Cullen does say she has a blind spot for Wardens. Either from the Warden or Alistair, if the former was a douche nozzle.

She also misses Solas of course.

The game doesn't really do a very good job of showing her as a good spymaster in the main game, though she can have some successes on the war table.

I'd be incredibly surprised if she managed to find anything out about Solas all things considered.

And yeah, at least on the war table though I found myself preferring her approaches to many situations, she usually had a backlog of missions I wanted her to do in my game.

Well, Solas is a trickster god. It makes sense that he could avoid detection. Possibly she thought 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth' when he showed up knowing so much.

Yes. And then, he is A GOD.

You do NOT gather enough dirt on A GOD to find out they're actually A GOD if they don't want to. Purely because they're A GOD.

Did I stress that out enough? A GOD.

And what being a "god" have to do here from what i know solas isn't omniscient neither omnipotent even corypheus outsmarted and overpowered him.Only problem i can see here is that any source of information about him is pretty much dead.

There is also the note reused from World of Thedas up in the rookery of the real Blackwall that shows he wasn't in Fereldan during the Blight.

Pretty much. His updated postgame codex has her kind of admitting that. That said, knowing Solas he would come up with a lame excuse that everyone would believe. "I saw it in a dream" or "I grew up in a abandoned village talking to spirits so what?"

Spoiler

I don't know how much she is involved with Skyhold security but the assassination attempts on Bull and Josephine within Skyhold were close enough that they managed to breach the same room/get thrown off of the ramparts was pretty bad on her part. She is mentioned in both cases so she does have involvement with security. She needs to get away from this whole spymaster business.

On the other side, what would be Leliana's biggest achievements as spymaster in the game?

I guess she must get credit for some nifty infiltration work at Redcliffe and Halamshiral, and she's active in the Calpernia plot. So that's not too bad - better than Liara in ME3, anyway.

Though her best move was surely recruiting Josephine, which isn't really a spymaster thing.

She also recruited Harding. If nothing else, she's got a good eye for talent.

This one's always been one of my favourites because it's precisely what I imagine my Warden was doing the whole time. Lels was like a whole head taller than her.  :P

Personal experience: it's incumbent on the taller partner to accommodate the shorter partner, not the other way around.

If you think that that's awkward to draw, imagine how awkward it is to do.

tbh I've always thought Leliana is a bit too emotional for the whole spymaster gig. I mean, Varric says she's a good spymaster because she doesn't get attached to her people or worry about them on a personal level, but we see shortly after we arrive at Skyhold that he was dead wrong.

Hope she retires and finds another line of work. Like adventuring. With the Warden.

I think her only proper role is as Divine. No one else can do it as well.

Plus, in the bargain, she can get rid of that stupid celibacy vow.

A momentary weakness, which the inquisitor thankfully shakes her out of.

Meh. Maybe she can do well as Divine, but I think it'll be awful on her on a personal, mental level. I don't think now is the time for her to bury herself in burdens, way more than being Left Hand ever gave her. But...don't really feel like arguing about Divine stuff.

I'm content with my never making Leliana Divine. Give her some happiness instead.

She has happiness; she has the Warden. That's the main thing. It's not yet time for her to retire.

In any case, I can't prioritize Leliana's happiness over that of the setting as a whole. It's for the same reason that my Shepard chooses Control instead of Destroy.
