Ha, me too! Shoulder length or so, I had guessed.

I kind of like the idea, actually, even if it turns out her hair's the same. Makes the setting feel a little more real when old friends change their hair/clothes/etc. over time.

PCs, too. I like to imagine how the Warden's appearance changes during DAO, Awakening, while they're off galavanting during DA2 and DAI... when they're old and crabby, assuming they live that long... :P

I was actually kinda disappointed that returning characters changed so little. Would have been cool if Leliana grew her hair out a bit, maybe Alistair grows a small beard or something, Morrigan actually wears something different than what she wore ten years ago...

If we ever redesign the Warden, I'm probably gonna make mine shave most of her hair off or something. I'll headcanon the taint had progressed enough that her hair began to fall out.

...that thought just made me kinda sad...

I was hoping they'd use one of the designs from the art book

Yup, it looks like they basically reworked them to accommodate the new engine whilst keeping the basic model/skeleton intact. Some ended up looking more or less the same while others showed some extent of change.

Morrigan did look quite different, though. I'm absolutely in love with her DA:I look

Didn't stop them with Awakening - provided they actually make it work like it should this time for those with dead Wardens, I don't see the problem here. Provided the DLC's premise and content itself is interesting and doesn't rely solely on nostalgia to carry it, it could still be good regardless.

The premise of Awakening was so laughably bad that I couldn't have imagined playing it even if my Warden was alive. I'd really not want to see it used as a template for either a returning or a new character.

If they didn't go and give the HoF a fate with such gigantic implications, I wouldn't really mind not hearing from them much again. But, they did. And BioWare should do something with it, and it shouldn't just be some underwhelming throwaway dialogue next game.

The sacrifice is the only fate with gigantic implications, though. A living Warden wants to find a cure, that's it. The Fifth Blight and its climax was that character's time in the spotlight, and with all the variations that could have happened since then, I just can't imagine them ever returning. How do you satisfy players after a decade's worth of in-game events and out-game headcanons?

On another note, I'd assumed Leliana had long hair under that hood. Then I did the Wicked Hearts mission and it was like "what a twist, it still is the old haircut".

I remember a war table banter in which Josie comments on the fact that Leliana hasn't done anything new with her hair in many years. Then they go on to poke fun at Cullen together. Poor guy -- if these two are in a joking mood and decide to team up against him, he probably can't catch a break. :P

Yeah, and that's a pretty damned big thing if they succeed. It sounds like a great thing to cover firsthand. Not left vague and off-screen forever.

If this whole thing ends up being a big 'left to headcanon' and the Warden is left in limbo like some seem to want, I'm going to be really angry.

How do you satisfy players after a decade's worth of in-game events and out-game headcanons?

Every Warden is already doing the same thing regardless of headcanons. They already went and did that. Don't see how that matters for this.

At least Lelianaist Andrastianism is pro-dwarf

It's garbage.

Dwarves turned from the true god to self worship and for the most part seem content with the choice.

I'm one of those who've accidentally hardened Leliana.

Man, the game really knows how to twist the knife in the wound.

Leliana says she wasn't sure about killing the traitor until you told her to. Well, great. It's not like I wasn't already feeling bad or anything.

Ha, yeah. It seems that first opportunity with the traitor is a deciding factor when it comes to whether or not to harden her.

Which sucks. Me, I kept my mouth shut on the first playthrough.

I didn't tell her "HURRR, MUST KILL ALL PEOPLES!" - I simply stay the hell out of her business.

It's not like I'm officially the Inquisitor at the stage, anyway.

I kept my mouth shut my first playthrough too. If only I knew it would have bit me in the arse that much.

The Warden's letter about Leliana just made the whole thing worse. It was already too late to help her at that point. :o

Pretty damn much. Thankfully, my Warden for that import was a CE Alistairmance without Harden, where he became the King.

Sad moment in that playthrough, but... Well, she was not with anyone, unless she met someone in the ten years.

I had a Warden in a similar situation as yours once, my Mahariel. Headcanoned she ran off with Arianne after Witch Hunt.  :wizard:

I'm doing a Mahariel/Lavellan pt now and I headcanon that Leliana taught Josephine the elven words she greets the Inquisitor with at Haven.  I usually have Leliana do the first elf war table mission too, but it's sweeter when your Warden was Dalish.

This is my canon, so I've had similar thoughts to this as well.

My Lavellan romanced Solas, so I kinda wish Leliana had a comment when she shows up with her vallaslin removed. She probably knows more about them than most humans do from her Dalish girlfriend. I reckon there would be an "Uh oh, how am I going to tell her that?" moment if Lavellan told her about what they really mean. :S

Does anyone besides Sera even comment on the vallaslin's removal at the end of Solas' romance? Beats me.

Cassandra has a banter about it, and Josephine has a rather cute moment where she's all "Ah, mistress Lavellan, I - WAIT WHAT."

But yeah, I wish more did. Particularly Leliana.

lol, I want to see that one with Josephine now!

I've managed to 'initiate' Solas' romance once, but I never did proceed with it.

I don't think my Mahariel would care about the vallaslin reveal though it's not a thing she'll ever know I guess since I don't romance Solas. Unless, it gets revealed as general knowledge some other way.

As for Leliana saying anything to a Dalish Warden, I wonder if she would even mention it at this point as she wouldn't trust the source, considering how shady the source acted after Coryface was defeated xd

I don't imagine my Mahariel would be too bothered either. She'd be a bit upset at first, but she's been away from her people for almost 11 years at this point, she probably feels Dalish in name only by now. I imagine she'd start thinking of them as a memento of sorts instead.

As for the second part...true. Leliana in particular is probably starting to mistrust anything that ever came out of Solas' mouth, seeing as she appears to be a bit regretful of the fact that he completely duped her as he did.

I was never really one to believe or trust Solas in the first place. Literally the minute I met him, the way he shows up and introduces himself, I felt something was off about him.

And what happens at the end... it's downright heartbreaking for a Lavellan who romanced him. :(

IMO, the vallaslin mean something different now to the Dalish and I don't think Solas can quite appreciate that from his perspective (being some ageless god that looks down upon the Dalish in general).

Though, there is the Arlathan reveal which Leliana would definitely know about and I think that would make for an interesting conversation between her and the Dalish Warden.  Also, the revelations in the 'Knight's Tomb' quest.  Then, there's the whole Flemeth/Mythal thing...my Warden did kill Flemeth in DA:O so she technically killed one of her gods (kind of).

Leliana/Dalish Warden would have lots to discuss XD

I was a bit suspicious too, I'll admit...I did agree with Vivienne's assessment that it's suspicious when someone seems to know so much with so little personal history of their own...didn't think it was to the caliber of 'ancient elven god,' though.

My Lavellan needs a Wolf Hunt DLC badly tbh. :C

I'm pretty sure my Warden actually has Mythal's vallaslin, to boot. Or, the DA:O equivalent anyway. That'd be...interesting, to say the least. :S

Out of curiosity, what's this Arlathan reveal you're referring to? The stuff the Sentinels tell you at Mythal or something else?

Nevermind. I gotcha.

Vivienne really saw it from a mile away. I was glad to see someone shared my suspicions xd
