Sister Nightingale: Leliana in DA:I Appreciation&Discussion (Nope, still not romanceable)

If you're playing HN, do you have any title relating to Highever or is that all Fergus now?
Now I seriously want to imagine what every DAO/DA2 character's titles would be at this kind of soirée... 'cause I'm pretty sure the Orlesians were just making **** up. Varric's a deshyr now?!

Still, I was a bit surprised to have her announced as the Queen's mistress like that. I had Vivienne in my party too and she got announced as the mistress of a Duke.
The Orlesian court: where everybody knows your lover's name. I like how she is introduced as the Inquisition's seneschal rather than spymaster. It's not completely false either since the seneschal is the one running the household and coordinating the servants. She would have to keep an eye on what and who comes in and out of Skyhold.
One of the few things I like about Orlesian nobility, they'll announce a same-sex relationship like that without so much as a scandalized gasp. My list of things I like about Orlais' nobility are few, but at least there's that. :S
I think any Warden can get up to six different titles in one complete playthrough of Origins.
Warden-Commander
Teyrn of Gwaren
Bann of the Alienage
Hero of Ferelden
Champion of Redcliffe
Paragon
... I ran out of ideas. But I'm sure any single Warden can get six titles.
If you ask to serve the crown, the Warden is made something like Lord Chancellor of Ferelden, IIRC.
Leli's sound way more impressive, though. Also, I think 'Warden-Commander' is just a rank and not necessarily an honorary title/position, correct?
'Blackwall' is announced as 'Constable of the Grey,' so I imagine 'Commander of the Grey' is the honorary title.

To me, a military rank is worth more than an honorary title.

Yup. Thanks.
Also, THE WALL is announced so, so yup times two.

I brought Cole along once because I was curious what they'd make up for him. Ends up they didn't even announce the poor guy. At least Solas was dubbed my Inquisitor's 'elven manservant.' :S
If only it was possible to drag Loghain to this ball. lol, I can't even imagine, but it would probably be hilarious...

I think Orlesians like to make things more impressive by mentioning any titles one can possibly earn.
I imagine they decided to keep up the titling habit.

Cole probably just made them forget.
I would kill to see Loghain, though. Or--sweet baby jesus--Warden Carver.

I'm sure Carver would love being introduced as "Brother of the Champion of Kirkwall"

I like "Founder of the Silver Order" for The Warden. At least Carver will have his templar / warden titles.

Bonus if sarcastic Hawke comes along, and they make fun of outrageous Orlesian accents again like they did in Mark of the Assassin. Baron de Stinky-Cheese....
Talking about Carver, digging through the MOTA banter just now and I noticed something I missed.
Hmm. Guess he didn't make too great of an impression, Leliana meanwhile remembers him as being 'a little surly.'
I imagine he was awkardly sputtering. :S

Yeah, given how awkward Carver is with women (Merrill, Isabela at first, "Peaches"...) I imagine he'd get so flustered around Leliana he'd just clam up and glower.
Poor bae.
Would be interesting to see them interact now that he's grown up a bit and Leliana's...completely different than he remembers her.
Don't get too confident, though, little bro...that red headed lay sister's girlfriend might be your commander depending on what I make you... :S

I do find it interesting Bethany would even go to the Chantry so much with all the Templars....she must have really liked those stories. Also (headcanon time) she needed to get away from Snarky!Hawke and Carver when they were being annoying.

I wonder what would happen if it was possible to have Hawke accompany you to the Winter Palace. I mean, they had no reason to be there, but I would still have taken mine if we'd been given the option. Totally different beast from all the Kirkwall politics she's too intimately familiar with.

He was probably in a bad mood because Hawke had done something more awesomely than Carver ever could. Like existing.
Actually, he was a lot better at getting killed by ogres than Hawke. He really shined in that category. ![]()

' Tell them I died at chateu haiiinnnne'
I hope it does tbh.One could argue Leliana had more freedom as a spy.
Now that she's tied to this organization and working for it 24/7, there's a chance that DA:I is the game that ends her character's story.

Those titles are so bawss. Leliana's and the Warden's. And if you happen to be romancing Alistair instead of Leli, then I suppose you can get the shiny mistress title~

The Warden is Arl/Arlessa of Amaranthine too. And should probably get "Conqueror of the 5th Blight" and perhaps "Slayer of Urthemiel"
I'm sure Carver would love being introduced as "Brother of the Champion of Kirkwall"
I'd imagine any badass sobriquets the characters have garnered over the years would definitely be mentioned. For example, my City Elf Warden is sometimes referred to (in my headcanon) as "The Grey Wolf of Denerim", a title that originated from the wanted posters Loghain and Howe had for him, but then appropriated for himself, 'cause it's pretty cool. Admittedly, everyone gets a cool epithet in my stuff. Even Merrill has one!

I would say my Warden could be called the honorary Queen of the Hinterlands because she won it for her people and all her hard work paid off, but...but then...
Damnit I'm still salty. ![]()

Yeah, that totally sucks. Did they ever get around to explaining why the Dalish boon didn't pan out, or was it just another arbitrary plot point in a game full of them?

Not really. If you bring Merrill along to meet Alistair, he says something went wrong and he intends to make it better, because he owes his old friend too much not to...but then it was never mentioned again. There weren't even any mentions that the Dalish were ever there at all. The boons didn't even have tiles in the Keep. :/

Actually, fun bit of trivia if you play a DC and tweak your world state just so: Bhelen officially marries Rica (rather than just keeping her as a concubine) when her sibling is named Paragon and she becomes nobility. I think the exact line is, "It [the statue of Paragon Brosca] stands in front of the palace. King Bhelen wants all of Orzammar to venerate his wife's noble house."
Does- does that mean I get another title? My sister's a queen, damn it!

Oh, wonderful. Yay for shoddy world-building! /sarcasm
Though I suppose it would be an interesting point of divergence in an AU setting or storyline if the boon was maintained; how would the Mage-Templar War have turned out with this third faction that both sides had to deal with in the Hinterlands? How would the Dalish as a whole have reacted to the notion of settling there? How would that have affected race relations in Ferelden and beyond?
And on the subject of Merrill, her badass sobriquet? "The Storm That Walks."
