I agree. Are they really going to discard the Warden just because some fans (possibly just the most vocal ones) said they didn't like Hawke's return in DAI? This doesn't make much sense to me. I had no problems with DAI!Hawke, and in my first playthrough she was alive and well after Here Lies The Abyss. The only thing I didn't like was finding out that by the end of the game she had disappeared again instead of, you know, riding off into the sunset with her lover-_-

Well, maybe Hawke will show up again. We could have an storyline regarding the wardens and their power struggles as the epilogues suggest. And then we would meet Hawke in the Anderfels or the surviving warden instead if Hawke was left behind.

But wouldn't that upset some fans? We can't have that.

So guys I have some rather interesting news that you may or may not have heard. :)

So it turns out a fan who met Weekes (the new lead writer) at San Diego Comic Con last year found out that Leliana was Weekes' canon romance in Origins. He also said that Weekes was all in for empowered female characters like Leliana and Isabela (who he romanced in DA2).

This news probably isn't that much wow, or something rather new to most of you, and despite Weekes' preference of Leliana, I doubt she'll continue to get major roles in future games (I hope not), but it does assure me that at least Lels' romance won't get screwed over, in other words, Spymaster or Divine, both her and the Warden will get their happy ending, despite all they've been through.  ;)

Even though this post may serve as ammunition to those fans saying she is a writer's pet and go 'I told you so', I never understood what's so bad about it? So what if she's liked both by Gaider and Weekes? She's a great, well-though out character and deserves more recognition. She never overshadowed other characters with extra content and was there when the plot demanded it. Her role in each game made sense.

But, either way, #hatersgonnahate #youhavenopowerhere  B)

I love Lelsi, but no writer should write their own fanboyism in. You end up with a Liara situation where she's decked out in a few miles of plot armor. "Empowered female characters" sounds a little too Tumblry to me too, and I'd like that sort of mindset to stay as far away from me and my cute Orlesian bard as possible.

There aren't that many haters, I think. I think Gaider even said that player stats had her as the most played romance.

I don't know if she was one of Gaider's favorites in particular though. He wrote Morrigan and says Isabela is his favorite character (Sheryl's character).

Too late for that she already had plot armor better than sentinel armor

Also her favoritism is so obvious in dai that i would have to be blind to not see that she is writers pet (even without her being shoved
into most da products) when practically every character (save for one and even that one) praise her to havens not mention completly ridiculous epilogue she got was devoided any sort of realism .

Actually there's one puzzle left about Leliana added in the Inquisition to progress her storyline beyond it (though I doubt it is possible), however I don't know if it is one of those minor details that would be swept under the rug once the next game comes out couple years from now.

I wonder if the statistical result also consider that she's bisexual and her sneak-romance bug etc.  I mean, as far as internet goes, Morrigan and Alistair seems to be almost as popular as her, so I did not expect that she would outnumber them by significant margin. Gaining Leliana's approval is also... relatively easier than someone like Morrigan, who's pretty much hate anything you do unless you throw a newborn baby to the campfire.

Poor Zevran though, I suspect he's the least popular romance option.

There are enough haters on this forum alone to keep me from reading many threads I'd be interested in, but I guess other female characters have it much worse.

That just makes me more sure that I made the right choice with making Leliana Divine. I finally got to accomplish what I've wanted throughout the games. I still would have chosen her even if it meant she broke up with my Warden but it's good to know she doesn't.

Hopefully Weekes understands that bringing back non-Divine Leliana yet again would do a lot more harm than good for the Warden romance, if she's his favourite character.

I think you people think the romance is way more important than it actually is. Why do you think romanced Leliana goes from "I'm going to join the Warden when this is over" to "Hey, you should make me Divine. I want to be Divine".

Because they evidently forgot all about it.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm hoping they don't forget that again.

If you're implying that the fact that she's his fave necessarily means he will bring her back, I wouldn't worry about it. It's rarely that cut-and-dried.

I don't think we'll see Leliana at all in the DA series from this point on. We'll hear about her maybe, particularly if she is Divine, but I don't think she'll be be making a cameo. I'd bet on DA:I being her last game.

Yeah, Leliana is only losing to Alistair when it comes to the number of appearances in Dragon Age media. It's time for another LI to shine, I guess. Especially after what happened in Inquisition.

Honestly I hope the vast majority of these characters get retired come the next game. They all had their time in the spotlight, time to wrap them up and get a whole new cast of characters. Probably better to leave most of them be now anyway.

Well, with the exception of Zevran I guess, though I'd say him not appearing is the best thing that could have happened for him. As a result he's the only DA:O LI who's actually physically still with the Warden, and thus the only LI that's actually helping them on the Calling cure thing. Also the only Origins romance that doesn't have something potentially happen to them that could...complicate things. (Alistair...well, dying, Morrigan drinking from the Well, Leliana becoming Divine...)

Hmm.

Because Schmooples the second wanted better accommodations.

This is Leliana's fan thread. Not a Divine Leliana fan thread. Quite a few people in here don't like or do her ending. They're not one and the same.

This 'correct choice' crap is irritating.

Why on Earth would someone care so much what choices someone else makes in their game?

Does that not defeat the entire purpose of RPG games?
