Who Became the Next Divine? http://www.strawpoll.me/3269183

What do you know, lots of people made the right choice with the best Divine.

Yeesh, do you ever unbend?

Why does is it matter so much to you what other people do to the fictional characters in the fictional universe?

Nearly every time I look at this thread I see you beating people about the head with this.

In all sincerity, Sister 'The Maker shall be her bacon and her shield!' Theohild would have been the right choice for Divine, tbh.

Honestly I hope the vast majority of these characters get retired come the next game. They all had their time in the spotlight, time to wrap them up and get a whole new cast of characters. Probably better to leave most of them be now anyway.

Well, with the exception of Zevran I guess, though I'd say him not appearing is the best thing that could have happened for him. As a result he's the only DA:O LI who's actually physically still with the Warden, and thus the only LI that's actually helping them on the Calling cure thing. Also the only Origins romance that doesn't have something potentially happen to them that could...complicate things. (Alistair...well, dying, Morrigan drinking from the Well, Leliana becoming Divine...)

Hmm.

I think that's to be expected considering that the setting for the next game is more likely being set in unexplored regions. However, I think a lot of people would be curious about what happen to their previous games' PCs because they're still attached to them after all these years (I am not talking about new players, of course). Killing them off-screen is a relatively bad cop-out plan by Bioware, if that happens (unless the next game is being set 10-20 years after Inquisition/the Last Flight, so time-skip plot device is being used again).

A little bit spoiler-y, but I think Lady M. would still play a significant role in the next game. She had been missing since Witch Hunt, and only to be seen again at the Winter Palace. Compared to Leliana who appeared in DA 2 and its DLCs as well as two novels, or Alistair who has his own spin-off comics, I think that's... fair. Zevran would only get the short end of the stick, I suppose.

Probably dead. That was the beginning stages of senility.

Why would the Black Emporium not go over well? I was looking forward to that mirror at least. The CC has too much room for error, and the lighting can throw you off. The game needs to let you tweak stuff.

And people who think that isn't important probably have hideous characters.. and don't think about anything in general. :P

Actually there's one puzzle left about Leliana added in the Inquisition to progress her storyline beyond it (though I doubt it is possible), however I don't know if it is one of those minor details that would be swept under the rug once the next game comes out couple years from now.

I wonder if the statistical result also consider that she's bisexual and her sneak-romance bug etc.  I mean, as far as internet goes, Morrigan and Alistair seems to be almost as popular as her, so I did not expect that she would outnumber them by significant margin. Gaining Leliana's approval is also... relatively easier than someone like Morrigan, who's pretty much hate anything you do unless you throw a newborn baby to the campfire.

Poor Zevran though, I suspect he's the least popular romance option.

I wonder if he played as a female or male warden? The male warden version of the romance is kind of crappy imo tbh..its clearly meant for female wardens. :/

I don't get why some do not want to make Leliana the Divine just because she romanced the Warden.

Hasn't Weekes, who is not lead writer, confirmed that Leliana will change the rules to allow a Divine to be in a relationship ?

I did a playthrough with male Cousland romanced a hardened Leliana who later married Anora and Leliana remained as a mistress. If Leliana becomes Divine, doesn't Ferelden stand a strong chance to gain a lot ? Doesn't your Warden ?

Female Warden x Leliana is my preference too, can't really see her with a male Warden entirely due to my own bias...but that's a little unnecessary, innit? The differences between the female and the male versions of the romance are only a few different scenes and some subtle differences.

I don't really care about what Weekes said, I want my Warden and Leliana to be free to do as they wish, especially after her dialogue about leaving the Inquisition and rejoining her for good. I've been waiting a long, long time for my Warden and Leliana's adventures in DA:O's epilogue to continue, I'll be damned if I'm going to let that opportunity slip away now. I'd rather they both have some peace.

Not sure what's hard to understand about that. It's not for everyone.

Doesn't your Warden ?

Mine would gain nothing except for a lifestyle she wouldn't mesh with at all, that she'd have to grit through if she wants to stay with the woman she loves. For both of their sakes I'd rather not.

Don't agree at all. Romanced as both and certainly see no intent that it's meant for one gender.

Meh, it wouldn't irk me so bad if her admiration for strong women was balanced out with admiration for another guy.( not including the warden). But meh. 'shrugs'

I don't find it surprising that alot of people got Leliana as Divine. Consider that the previous games were tailored to be pro-mage and you might already have a bias towards her major boost in DAI. Supporting the wardens also favors her, so it's rather easy to get her alot of points.

That being said, I think Cassandra is best suited for the job. Suppposedly the keep default agrees with that unless I'm mistaken, haven't checked it myself yet. :)

i guess it's possible she might have been initially written up with a female Warden in mind, seeing as a common consensus is that she's a bisexual with slightly more inclination towards women but I don't think it really matters either way. They're basically the same romance at the end of the day, and the things that would seem out of place for one gender (like the hair conversation) have a different scene for the other gender.

The only thing that felt weird to me personally (and this might get some controversy, just something that didn't sit right with me on a personal level) is that the male Warden romance kind of made me feel like I was helping her get over a bad F/F relationship with the power of the D. I know she's bisexual, but in this context it put a bit of a weird taste in my mouth and I prefer this sort of plot if the Warden is also a woman.

Amd all the important figures in her life had been women up until that point, the female Warden romance just meshed with her story a little better from my perspective, IMO.

just my two cents, don't mean anything to the male Warden/Leliana fans out there.

If you're just talking about balanced ideals at least.

But ideals aren't the only thing about being Divine. I don't think Cass is personally suited. I feel sorry for her, especially in romance. But outside of that, she's a warrior and hunter. Not someone who sits around in long robes, waves at people, and doles out boons. Leliana seems more stoked about it and already handles herself with political intrigue and socializing. Same with Vivienne.

And that's the beauty of it. There are arguments to be made for all candidates :)

Don't think that's what she'd be doing all the time, tbh. Her image in the epilogue slide has her decked out in full plate armour brandishing a sword.

Personally, I think the idea of a Warrior-Divine is awesome. If she ever declares an Exalted March, she'll be on horseback leading it. Aww yiss.

It'd only be awesome if she hated the Inquisitor and they were at odds. :D

She isn't going to have that many wars or enemies otherwise.. it seems less dramatic if she's on good terms. And the big problems that would require a march could just as easily get smashed by the Inquisition.

Deleted dialogue implies that Cassandra is afraid of horses... Weird considering her default card has her riding one.

You really think she'd turn down the opportunity to smash things with the Inquisition like the old days? Nah.

Is she afraid of nuggalopes? My Inquisitor can lend her a nuggalope. Majestic.

I don't even know what issues they'd be. That particular ending is kind of tame. If I recall, it even calls it a Golden Age.

Even in a Golden Age, there will always be people in dire need of a punch to the face. :S
