How did you all primarily use Leliana in DA:O? Archer, or dual-wield?
I primarily kept her as an archer and used Zevran as a dual-wielder. Of course one of the great things about DA:O is that you could switch sets when needed.

Archer, always.
Probably about half and half. I preferred dual wielding, and didn't use Zevran much.
Though even if she was dual wielding she'd still use her bow a fair amount.
Yup, Archer. My Warden was the warrior tank, Leliana was the archer, Wynne was the healer and Morrigan add some magical dps, combos and off healing. Sometimes I replaced Morrigan or Wynne with Shale, because I like Shale's banter quite a lot.
I had to choose Sera (that was hard dammit). Lels is amazing and waifu through and through but i had more fun with Sera in her romance. Plus more scenes with her.
But I was suprised by how many ppl picked Sera on twitter though.

As for the archer VS dual wield question: I kept Leli as an archer most of the time. Actually in one run I had everyone as archers (except the mages, obviously). It worked out ok. Triple arrow of slaying on the Archdemon for the Win!

Most often she's an archer for me. I adored the dual wlelding warrior in DAO so made more sense for her to use her bow.
Sometimes using Leliana as a dual-wielding rogue could be unintentionally hilarious. Like clicking on her and getting the cheerful, "Well, aren't you sweet and attentive?" while she's covered in blood & gore.
Archer, always.
This.
Same goes for Sera. I can't really justify taking that bow away from them.

She started as a dual wielder in my very first playthrough, then I switched to archer to give her Marjolaine's Recurve and never turned back. It suits her, I think.
I do wonder how these orlesian bards explain taking their bows to parties.
i always try to keep her as an Archer but if i put a second set of weapons on her, she ALWAYS switches to the dual wield. Plus...there's something sickeningly satisfying about seeing her cut Marjolaine's head off for the eleventeenth time. How did you all primarily use Leliana in DA:O? Archer, or dual-wield?

I had her mixed, mainly an Archer but if enemies start to attack her switch to dual-wield
I had Leliana as an Archer+Ranger. Got her to summon wolves..at one time we had 2 wolves to help us.

Forget it, it's Twitter.
Also, had a notion relating to Leliana's parentage lately, either horribly insane or insanely horrible, one of the two.
What if her father is the Usurper Meghren?
Now, before you throw those rotten tomatoes you're hefting, is the notion at the very least not plausible? After all, she left Ferelden for Orlais around the time of the Occupation, or shortly after Ferelden was liberated, and we know Meghren was kicking around until around 9:02 Dragon according to The Stolen Throne. So, interesting idea, or worthy of banishment?
That happened to me too more or less! I'm pretty sure I never flirted with Alistair, but I did raise his approval with gifts and was nice to him. All of a sudden Leliana is going postal at poor Warden and shrieking that I'm in love with him!
I then had to calm her down and go "dump" my poor Bro Alistair. #Awkward
I never explicitly flirted with him. I think. He definitely flirted with my Warden a lot in the awkward oblivious kind of way. She was like that too, so I've always imagined the flattering compliments went right over her head.
Was a serious WAT moment when Leliana was all "DO YOU SAY THE SAME THINGS TO HIM YOU SAY TO ME"
I was just being nice. ![]()
The "I like you, but not because you're royal" was a tricky one. But if that confusion came early enough, I quite liked it - if Alistair wasn't too high approval, then the dialogue to tell Alistair he's got the wrong idea fit quite well.
Things only got really awkward because high approval + 1 ambiguous flirt = Love
Yeah, that's the line that always got me. It really bothers me, actually, all the other lines make it sound like the Warden actually does look at him differently now. Bah.
I actually like the idea of awkward un-reciprocated tension between my Warden and Alistair. I always like to sort of establish it in my playthroughs; I can never help myself in conversations like these:
W: "I haven't noticed an increase in appetite."
A: "Really? Well, I saw you wolfing down food earlier, and I couldn't help but think 'it's a good thing she gets a lot of exercise...'"
W: "I'm a growing girl."
A: "I'll say. Oh! Don't hit me! I bruise easily!"
I just prefer it when it remains awkward and unresolved and doesn't screw up my Leliana romance. She's the only one she has feelings for. >.>
Poor swooping-is-bad boy! He thought he was going to get lucky just to be dumped, friendzoned and/or to have his feelings retconned in the most awkward ways. :P"
Yeah. Poor guy. My Warden never returns or addresses his affections, and then makes him sleep with Morrigan to add insult to injury. Sorry mate, she likes you, but can only ever see you in a familial sense. Not that way. And she really regrets all the things she made you do. :S

Archer. My Warden was a dual-wielding rogue dexterity tank, I managed to get Leliana and her working rather well together.

I wish they made the bow Leliana always uses in Inquisition Marjolaine's Recurve. I like to think of it as her signature bow.

You can pretty much get away with headcanoning anything about Leliana's father. I actually like to toy with the thought that her father was an elf, in fact. Cause...why not.
I think Meghren was sickened by basically everything in Ferelden though. So...dunno.

Me too, especially after reading its description:
Leliana's mentor taught her apprentice more than just social graces, and the younger bard had always coveted this masterfully worked longbow. Beautiful carving and delicate inlays around the grip wordlessly convey one of Marjolaine's great lessons: just because something is deadly, there is no reason it cannot be beautiful.
Anyway, she definitely had Marjolaine's Recurve in the E3 demo and in this trailer. Too bad they decided to give her a new bow along with her "Redcliffe" look ![]()

Yeah, I remember that. Thought it was a really nice callback, was disappointed when it got replaced by the most generic looking bow ever in-game.
I vaguely remember her being described as using Marjolaine's Recurve in Asunder, too.

Archer.. bard and asssasin.. but if I try again, I'll go bard and ranger.

Archer (...because I tend to play as a dual-wielding city elf rogue)

Wish this was an actual CGI trailer like Vivienne, Varric and Iron Bull's. It was kinda weird how there was never actually an Advisors trailer.
Either way I can definitely see this happening. ![]()
Also anyone follow the #UltimateParty voting on Facebook/Twitter?
Leliana and Varric fans are eating each other alive. ![]()

What are they even doing that for? Just for fun?
I've seen a new update pop up every now and then but never bothered commenting.
