That she is. The characters I end up liking the most are usually the ones I hated at first. It's weird.

I want to replay Origins with a warrior but don't know if I should go Cousland or Mahariel.  I should go Cousland since I haven't actually ever finished the whole game with one but meh...

If you're going warrior, I'd say probably Cousland. I can only see Mahariel as a rogue, though I'm very biased about that at this point as it's all I play the game with. :S

Elven arms just don't look right hefting big greatswords around.

Leliana sure looks young in those renders.

Like the time when she was with Marjolaine, still a bard in training.

Though the more I look at them I can really see Leliana having the exact same model if Origins ever had an HD remake. Her look fits well with what she told Wynne; "I think I look younger than I am". She is mid twenties but looks 19/20 just like Alistair. In my opinion anyway.

*The Warden greatly approves*

I can see that. The hair does make her look a bit more youthful.

Thedas has some remarkably good anti-aging products. Nearing on 40 and not looking a day over 25. :S

Looking at Leliana, Cassandra and Briala (who are mid thirties) and comparing them to Celene (who is canonically 36/37) is rather weird really.

I can understand being an Empress is a stressful job, but let's be honest, being Left Hand is just as hard work. Leliana's fragile physique and the fact she is so shaken and broken up emotionally further proves this. Celene didn't have blood on her hands all day, everyday.

Yet Leliana still looks gorgeous and Celene (if you've seen her without a mask) is rather...meh. I feel the designers went a little too far with aging and wrinkling her up.

I always put Leliana close to late thirties, not that a few years matter. But yes, she's gorgeous. Perks of being writers pet, eh? ;)

Mid 30s is not that old, guys.

I'm sure all of them are the equivalent of athletes and don't eat like crap...so they have that covered.

Maker, I'm only 30, and I have an alarming amount of greying under my hair already. I'm gonna turn 60 when I turn 40, I can tell.

Celene didn't have blood on her hands all day, everyday.

Well, she did eradicate an entire alienage though. And apparently needs a heavy amount of tea/other stimulants to function remotely properly. Not surprising she looks a bit...haggard, I guess.

I think Leliana is older than Celene by a year or so, personally. Guess she just takes better care of herself. :S

Sometimes early grey is genetic. As long as you're not wrinkled up, then you're OK :P

Seriously though, people shouldn't look too bad in their 30s. Unless their diet is terrible, they're methheads, or stressed out.

My spine also nearly gave out from under me at the age of 28-29. Though that could probably be attributed 50/50 to genetics and me being a dumbarse. :S

Well, I've improved anyway. Mobility was completely screwed over for the majority of last year.

Probably not gonna be running marathons or anything anytime soon, though. Managed to play a somewhat decent game of tennis at least.

Getting older is not the same for everybody. I'm 38 and I can't conceal it, but I know people of my age who seem to have made a pact with the devil. A friend of mine surely does. And there are women like Monica Bellucci. She's 50 and hot as hell.

They could have put more wrinkles in Leliana's or in Morrigan's skin to show they are not in their 20s, but at least is not Flemeth's story of having an old looking face in DAO, a youthful face in DA2, and then a face full of wrinkles in DAI, while having every time a body that many young girls would kill to have. Maybe Morrigan benefits of having Flemeths heritage somehow :D

I was thinking... We don't know much about Leli's father, do we? And these days it seems we have old elven gods everywhere. Maybe she is the daughter of a hidden elven god too. That would justify any plot hole with her and her youthful look. Dum dum dummmm! ;)  Just joking, enough hidden elven gods already, and we wouldn't stop hearing complaints about her pet writer's status :P

Perfect writer's pet excuse to keep Leliana around forever - I approve! :D

Ageing varies from person to person. I'm almost 30 and think I've aged appropriately in the last few years, having always been mistaken for much younger. Except in my preeteens - I was an exceptionally tall kid, one of those who towered above everyone in primary school and finished growing by about 15. My mum used to have endless arguments with bus drivers trying to get me the half fare you're entitled to until 16! :D

I don't think I've aged particularly badly, but I'm terrified of aging; there seem to be fewer worse fates than to have your own body turn on you and decay from inside out, your cellular patterns crumbling without any way to stop them. Unless I have a compelling reason not to, I plan on committing suicide by age 60 if I haven't found immortality yet.

No, don't do that.

When we get old we can get away with anything. It'll be fun. Just play it off as senility.

Seconded. And hopefully we'll all be of sound mind enough to still hang around forums talking nonsense to lovely people. :)

I don't want to get away with any of that, because I detest the cultural norms that lead to that sort of thing. Aging is too damn close to Hell itself for me, except that it has an end.

Well, maybe not an elven god, but I've toyed with the idea that her father was an elf before. Maybe that explains her constantly nice, smooth skin. Elves seem to age more gracefully. Maybe Leliana is unknowingly enjoying the perks of being elf-blooded.

I also just like to headcanon this because it's something my Mahariel will probably never figure out but she would get totally excited about if it was true. Heh.
