Happens every damn time. Just recently there was that room in the werewolf lair with a billion pressure plates, and Leliana was shouting out 'TRAP RIGHT AHEAD' as we were all on fire.
Sometimes I think I need to improve my Warden's trap detection too.
The bear traps always amuse me because the character just reacts like it's a minor inconvenience instead of a serious injury. Those things will snap bones like they're toothpicks.
And then there's this:

Especially in Ostagar if you don't play a thief or didn't invest in the lock pick skill. So many chests lost forever... Ok they contained junk, but it's the principle of the thing. *nod nod*

Luckily, my Warden has the bare minimum lockpicking skill (she's a rogue, but I can't think of a reason a Dalish would know much about lockpicking.) so I got the ones in Ostagar, but I had the problem in DAI. All those locked chests/doors in Haven...bah.
Heh yeah, I played a Dalish like that too. More of a hunter than a straight up rogue.
Ignorant of the ways of the world. I mean, look at Merrill.

You mean the locked doors under Haven's Chantry? If you ask Sera she can open them for you.

Not much. Just a dawn lotus and a few codex entries.

I think all of the companions & advisers should have had fully cinematic conversations. The lack of them made DA:I the least immersive game in the series.
Definitely. Between the lack of cinematic conversations, the War Table and less meaningful questing content, Inquisition did have some immersion issues, didn't it?
Changing her complexion to a healthier color is a good first step. Her default skin tone looks a little jaundiced.
Uhh, changing character's skin tones and complexions always feels like a bit of a slippery slope to me. That's not to say that every such mod ends up becoming that awful whitewashed Isabela mod from DA2, but I always feel a little sketchy about altering a character's looks to be more "ideal" or "realistic" or what-have-you. Maybe it's just me.

Well, it's not like anyone's making Leliana black or anything. Just a slightly less sickly looking shade than what she was given.
As long as you keep the characters recognizable as who they are, I've never really seen the harm. I've modded most of DA:O's companions just because I don't like how generic the character models are in vanilla DA:O, I like everyone having a bit more personal flare when compared to any old background NPC like they do in the later two games. Now, I like to try and make Leliana look a bit more in-line with Inquisition.
But, that's just my opinion on the matter I guess.

I always like modern AU takes on the characters. They're always kind of fun to think about. :S

I want to punch whoever that guy is in the face for calling Leliana 'chérie'. (darling) He oozes sleaze. But yeah, I want to see where this comic goes too.

I thought the implication was that the guy in the suit isn't real, and that there is the equivalent of her vision, hence her waking up at the end. Unless I read that wrong. :S

Ooh! I hadn't thought of that! It would explain why she isn't sure who the guy is. I just thought the artist was going for a Charlie's Angels thing by not showing the guy's face. Wait, maybe there's that too...

Yeah, the hidden face thing is part of what makes me think that. This is why they need to continue it, it's too ambiguous, there must be moaaaar. If the vision thing is right though, the 'Maker' is apparently a bit of a sleazeball, yeah. :S
Still don't know what the Warden would be in some modern AU though. Mine would probably be some...weird hermit survivalist woman living out in the Siberian wilderness or something, who got forced to come out for...I don't know...

Modern Warden? Well, the Order itself would be similar to what it is now: a paramilitary group that fights Darkspawn (just because it's modern doesn't mean the magic is gone. Especially if that guy was the Maker)
Most of the Origins would work pretty much the same in a modern setting, just with updated titles. The Dalish are the trickiest in a modern setting. Romani perhaps?

Maybe the Sami? They actually herd reindeer and everything.
Not sure about dwarves either now that I think about it.

Mmm when I saw that comic I though it was some kind of flashback scene, where Leliana thinks about the circunstances that led her to meet her "Warden" lover. The guy in the suit would be some kind of secrent agent that offers her a mission. She says "I'm no longer in that line of work." which makes me think she doesn't want to work as an assassin or do evil things, but when she reads the dossier she finds the mission acceptable.

If I'm right the conversation is in secret agents language. That's why Leliana says she doesn't know who she is talking to, but she seems to have a good idea of it, as the suit guy explains with that 'Of course you do, my little sparrow.' Maybe the suit guy tries to behave like a James Bond figure. 'A pleasure as allways', 'my little sparrow', 'darling',... He's trying to sound seductive. I don't really know if he's sleazy as you think, but I don't think he's a nice person. He seems a very shady figure.

There's another good interpretation. Don't see anyone, uh, behind her in the last panel though... ![]()
