I wonder how Leliana's story arc would culminate once she becomes Divine... surely by that point, she's forever left the chain of being used by other people for their own ends? Though she'd probably have to be careful not to restart it with someone else who might become a new Left Hand (assuming the Hero of Ferelden wouldn't take that position).

Also, seeing as that page is just a snippet that seems to have more preceding it, I wonder if the often-discussed subject of Leliana's parentage will be addressed at all in the book. 

We can only hope. I don't think the identity of her father is particularly important, but it would be interesting to know.

I'm pretty excited that, looking at the index of characters around the end of the preview, a lot of the characters from the Warden's origin stories are getting blurbs in the book. I see Tamlen, Shianni, Bryce Cousland...should be good for little juicy bits of info like that...

Heh. 'I prefer to beef'. Tsk tsk. I think there is a word missing there. Probably 'use'. From some banters in the game (with Varric), he mentions that some ladies keep miniature nugs in their hand bags. Thedas' answer to teacup pigs? Varric wonders why they do this and posits 'snacks' as a possibility.

Hm so now that we know Leliana was 16 when she first fell in with Marjolaine, I would say around 26 is a safe bet for her age in Origins, 36 in Inquisition. I remember her saying she was with her for quite some time, plus the two years she spent in the Chantry. She didnt seem older than early 20s to me in Leliana's Song.

I'm afraid I would need to ignore that request. My curiosity is too imperious a mistress. 

 

I love noodle incidents, but I always spend way too long wondering "what was it?"

That pretty much sums up my reticence about the issue. I see no sign in DAI that she's gotten past that tendency, and who knows what she'll face in the position. In fact, if there's anyone I think could really use a relaxed retirement--preferably somewhere warm and beautiful--at the end of that game, it's Leliana.

Not really. She doesn't like the Inquisitor, especially not at first. The people who can manipulate her are people she is attached to and that she looks up to as mentors/rescuers. 

 

The Inquisitor is neither. So it's not just anyone who can manipulate her, but the people who could used her to further their own ends. I think the risk is still there, although with age and repeated loss getting close to her got a lot harder.

Well mountains are often in border territory for obvious reasons (like the frostbacks in DA.) Here's a photo taken in Switzerland. The Snow-capped mountains in the background are the Mont Blanc Massif in France, with Italy just behind.
