That's...a good point actually. Not a city elf player myself but that kinda blows to have that little detail go away. Still, I'm glad the version she told the Warden was the truth and Leliana's Song was the tale. Would feel wrong if she lied to the Warden there.

I guess one could just headcanon that Adaia was in Orlais.

I headcanon that Adaia was an ex-bard anyway so sure, why not.

Y'know, I'm not actually too sure how I feel about Leliana having been to Ferelden before she fled there. I've always kinda liked the idea that exploring it with the Warden and co was her discovering the place she was always told was the place of her heritage for the first time. Kinda fit in with her seeking a fresh start to return to her roots when she never had before.

It might explain why she ended up in the Lothering Chantry. Maybe she had passed through the town at some point while a bard.

I've always thought Dorothea just sent her out there because Lothering was secluded and quiet, and would be a good place for Leliana to collect her thoughts and start anew. Kinda like it that way more, tbh.

Interesting that, even though she found her, Marjolaine didn't try anything while Leliana was in Lothering. I'm guessing that attacking a lay sister would attract too much attention, even in a small town like that. And if the Templars are permanent residents there... I guess you don't want them on your case. After all Lothering is just outside the Kocari Wilds 'where witches dwell'.

Yep, much safer to attack her when she's surrounded by two Grey Wardens and a bunch of other dangerous killers. Wasn't very smart either way, in retrospect. :S

That's because Leliana was making a move and planning revenge. So Marj had to act first.  Crazy paranoid cow.

I wasn't too fond of how the Warden would make the call for Leliana there, but Leli did seem more enclined to keep chatting.

For some reason nearly every time I played through the portion of the game where Leliana finally confronts Marjolaine, it has ended with Leliana beheading Marjolaine. She seems to get the final blow a lot and the fatality animation triggers.

This goes through my head every time.

Yeah, there should have been an "It's your choice, Leliana." option there, but...she probably would have let her go. And...nah. I never do that. Marjolaine has done enough harm to too many. Letting her go just feels wrong to me.

I don't think Leliana has ever actually killed her for me. She's always an archer, usually it ends with my Warden stabbing her in the gut before beheading her or something. Sometimes Shale squishes her.

My favourite was when Barkspawn ate her. 'Zis place smells like wet dog!' Well, here's a wet dog for you. Get her boy. :S

Makes you wish Morrigan really could turn people into toads. I'm sure she'd oblige.

Never killed Marjolaine once on any of my playthroughs.

But I guess that has more to do with the fact that I never harden Leliana and muchly prefer the 'soft' version. Plus, I think Marjolaine has a beautiful name!

I always looked at Leliana's Song as Leli embellishing a few details to connect her story to that of the CE Warden.

I usually have Leliana save an Arrow of Slaying for when Marjolaine drops to low health.

You can kill Marjolaine without hardening Leliana.

Yeah, she has a beautiful name.

She's also a major threat, and intended to kill you.

Goooooood byyyyyyye.

I always keep Leliana softened too tho. The choices of killing Marjolaine and hardening Leliana aren't linked.

Marjolaine is a spice: marjoram. That stuff is nasty

I know they're not linked in-game, but they very much are in my own headcanon xd

Careful now. There may be fans of the stuff around :P

But seriously, I luv French-style names. Especially feminine ones.

Speaking of names...

Anything in world of Thedas on whether Leliana has a surname?

I reckon Marjolaine is loads worse than the bandits, guards and such that we'd already been killing by the score in self-defense, so I never saw a problem with my killing Marjolaine while still softening Leliana. As the Warden can say, Marjolaine will keep hunting her for the rest of her days. Killing her is protecting herself and everyone else that evil woman hurts.

Just my justification, anywho. :S

Not that was in the preview. She isn't highborn, so I'm guessing she doesn't really have one.

Not to mention her parents weren't married, so I'm guessing there is no family name either. Hey, 'Nightingale' is an actual last name. Since that's her nickname from the Imperial Court, why not use it as a last name?

Maybe she'll have a daughter named Florence one day.

Her name is Leliana Snow due to being born out of wedlock, but everyone knows she's actually a Targaryen. The signs are there.

Hey, Tower Guard and Bandit Leader have families they're trying to feed. :P
