I don't know why but your pics ALWAYS look significantly better than what other people upload. I see that you are using Dropbox. I guess Dropbox doesn't compress images maybe?

I'm somewhat amused by the notion that Flemeth arrived in time to save the Warden, Alistair and potentially the Warden's dog, but didn't bother to save the other mooks in the party.

 

(Warden gets shot full of arrows)

 

TG: We're surrounded! But the darkspawn won't take us without a fight!

 

(Flemeth crashes into the Tower of Ishal, blasting the darkspawn with fire)

I don't know. I'm playing on ultra at 1080p, but there's nothing special about my rig. My motherboard is five years old! Those three are from three different playthroughs, as it happens. I just noticed that they could be strung together...

It might be a compression thing then. Either Dropbox uses a really good compression algorithm or doesn't use one at all.

It doesn't use one, as it's simply mirroring files from my Hard Drive. I launch Origin through Steam and use the Steam overlay to get my screenshots. Perhaps Steam doesn't compress its JPGs much, or maybe at some point I set the quality to high...

They are JPGs so they are compressed by definition. I can't see a quality setting, but I guess the compression isn't too much, and crucially they aren't being compressed again by one of those free image sites...

Not to mention her parents weren't married, so I'm guessing there is no family name either. Hey, 'Nightingale' is an actual last name. Since that's her nickname from the Imperial Court, why not use it as a last name?

 

If she went with the Orlesian (French) variant for nightingale it would be Rossignol, which is apparently a real French surname:

A lot of last names were originally nicknames or related to the profession of people, so I'm not surprised Rossignol is a real name. Interestingly, 'rossignol' is also old slang for a lock pick or fake key. How appropriate.

It certainly is. I have a friend who is a retired French teacher whose surname is Nightingale, and he's been known to use Rossignol when booking hotels to make it easier for them to understand his name... (Also being a native French speaker I suspect that we aren't telling Cat anything she didn't already know... )
