I also accidentally caught what may be the most sinister facial expression of all time.
Muahahhaha, muahahahhaaaa.
Bahahahaha! This cracks me up for some reason. Maybe because Leliana's face looks so grumpy while Natalie looks like she's leaning in for a kiss.
Probably what's happening. Natalie's leaning in for a peck on the cheek or something, but then buggers off when she sees Leliana giving her the death glare. :S

This is why I'm not really very interested in flycam, especially in cutscenes. They set up the camera angles a certain way for a reason. Maybe I'll mess around at some stage for fun...

You can get some really nice stuff with it, though.
I'll repost these ones I took a while back for instance:
Was doing Leliana's personal quest today.
May or may not have taken a metric crapton of dramatic-looking Leliana screenies, because why not. Ended up reminding myself of those oldpre-release screens.
More under the cut...cause I took a lot...cause Valence is all photogenic.
Man, this thread updated quickly. Haven't been able to post in the last little while, been dealing with taxes.
Anywho, I'm hoping Volume 2 of World of Thedas turns out well. The snippets of info they've previewed about Leliana seem pretty interesting, but after Inquisition, I'm regrettably not as enthusiastic about it as I'd like to be. Knowing my luck, there'll be page after page about how much the Wardens suck, how much Dalish culture is built on lies, and how the Friends of Red Jenny are the best thing ever. /sigh
Also thought I'd share a Leliana-centric short fanfic piece I wrote about a year back for a writing contest on DeviantArt. It's called Ghost Dances, and while it's a bit of an artifact (having been written before Inquisiton was released and with some of the details sketchy), I'm still kinda proud of it. What it lacks in canonical status, it more thn makes up for in feels. /shameless plugging
It certainly is. I have a friend who is a retired French teacher whose surname is Nightingale, and he's been known to use Rossignol when booking hotels to make it easier for them to understand his name... (Also being a native French speaker I suspect that we aren't telling Cat anything she didn't already know... )
I have no idea where anyone is from. If she is from France or Belgium rather than Canada, her English is impressive. I'd have never guessed.

She's Québécoise, and she teaches French to English speakers in Ottawa, which explains things to a degree, but I am still staggered by how good her English is. The same is true for a few other posters here, too...
Believe it or not, I'm not even a native English speaker either. :S

(Also, Belgians are often very good at English. My Belgian grandmother was trilingual (Flemish, French and English), and spoke a few other languages quite well too.)

So many people with mad tongue skills hanging out in the Leliana thread.

Hah, not really tongue skills, I'm Danish. It's all just meaningless guttural sounds.
*snip*
*must resist deep throat joke*
Anyway, that was a pretty funny video. Thanks! I like how all the guys stare at each other in confusion. (how many takes do you think that took? I suspect a lot.)

Go ahead, I've heard them all. Along with the potatoes shoved in our mouths, the seal with pneumonia...
Meanwhile, I take pride in the fact that nobody outside of here can pronounce a damn thing we say. Hell, we have something that's so hard to pronounce that it was once used to root out German spies. The good old 'rødgrød med fløde' test. Works every time. :S

The joke I had in mind is nowhere near as innocent as those two... Anyway, language barriers were weaponized a lot during the World Wars. I know there is a word for words and phrases that only a native speaker could get right... Let me see if I can find it.

That's pretty cool, actually. You learn something new every day...
That pretty much sums up my reticence about the issue. I see no sign in DAI that she's gotten past that tendency, and who knows what she'll face in the position. In fact, if there's anyone I think could really use a relaxed retirement--preferably somewhere warm and beautiful--at the end of that game, it's Leliana.
I have no reticence whatsoever. Leliana must become Divine for her story arc to mean anything to me. I merely wonder how it would manifest.
