I have no reticence whatsoever. Leliana must become Divine for her story arc to mean anything to me. I merely wonder how it would manifest.

So do I, and I'm inclined to think it might involve more of her tendency to let herself be defined by other people.

::shrug:: I'd actually be gratified to find out that I'm wrong.

Believe it or not, I'm not really a native English speaker either. :S

Woo, really?

So many people with mad tongue skills hanging out in the Leliana thread. :D

Damn right. (Wait, do I count?)

Hah, not really tongue skills, I'm Danish. It's all just meaningless guttural sounds.

Holy heck, I tried Google Translate. You're actually right...

You are my spirit animal.

I know there is a word for words and phrases that only a native speaker could get right... Let me see if I can find it.

Shibboleth. The funny thing is that a lot of them don't seem to work as well as their creators intended - not that medieval Flemish guildsmen or American GIs should be expected to be linguists.

Represent.

You're another case in point. It could be argued that your English should be of a high standard if you're studying for a postgraduate degree at an English speaking university, but Ive seen first-hand that this is not always the case. Quite a few people make money proof-reading the theses of non-native English speakers, and I very much doubt that yours will need that, at least in terms of correcting your grammar.

There was a Dutch guy who popped into the Sera thread a couple of times, but that was ages ago... Dutch and Nordic people almost always impress me with their level of English. I remember being on holiday years ago when a Dutch kid told me how bad he was at English. In near-perfect English. I understand it's partly because you get TV-shows and films (and I guess video games) with just subtitles instead of being dubbed into your own language, so you're all constantly exposed to it from an early age. Of course that must have just been amplified these days with the internet.

Well, I've never played video games with Dutch subtitles or voices, even though I'm sure there probably are. I guess it is mostly that, yes. At least, my English has never benefited that much from English class in school, save for getting a better understanding of grammar and why some sentences are structured as they are - which probably would've come to me naturally anyway, due to this exposure to so much English content, both on- and offline.

Holland (or the Netherlands, if you want to be correct) is a small country, so it's only logical most of our media consumption is English - from which we benefit a lot :D

She's the one who can help you to gather more herbs. That's all I'm saying... ;)

Yeah I can imagine some elfroot smoke drifting down from upstairs into the library area with Dorian and Fiona shaking their heads...

For some reason, Leliana getting stoned with elfroot doesn't seem that far-fetched of a headcanon to me.  :P

I mean, she does have a way with herbs, wouldn't be surprised if she brews up a mixture of potions every now and then so she can stay awake longer to work in the rookery or to chill from time to time.

I'm sure my Warden can hook her up whenever she feels the need for it. Stress relief and all. I mean, Dalish probably hit that stuff a lot, right? :P

Well yes , coffee shops it is ....though i prefer to call them bars...but what can you do.

I have been gathering Elfroot and i found  two Royal Elfroots ...fit for a queen...or a Devine. Royal Elfroots do more than get you high. :)

I also found several of those herb flowers Crystal Grace...they are so lovely to look at.

But back to Leliana...Elfroot can put a Devine smile on her face. They should of had a Devine Elfroot too.

I wonder if Leliana would be a vegetarian given her love of animals

I imagine that nug dish from the new Thedas book would be off the menu at any Divine banquet

But sometimes a nug is all that can keep meat on a peasant bones, or a casteless dwarf I guess.

I can imagine it being a point of disagreement with a romanced Brosca at first.

I remember there was a discussion like this a few days ago. I've always figured that, while she isn't a vegetarian, she's rather light on the carnivore side. Probably picks at any meat she gets for a while before sliding it over to the Warden or sneaking it off to the dog. :S

WOT vol. 2 confirms that Leliana is the one who started the Orlesian nug loving trend.
