The bit I read of WoT Vol. 2 emphasizes paranoia that Leliana was becoming better than she was as one of the primary reasons for Marjolaine's betrayal, so I guess it's possible she was different at one point...but she screwed her over so very casually, so I'd find it hard to believe she was ever more than the manipulator. I'm still of the opinion that Marjolaine was playing her like a fiddle since day one, and sad as it is, those good times were just part of that. A cruel lie.

@Snook. Mmh. It's very possible that Leliana was becoming a better manipulator than Marjolaine. The problem for Leliana is that she has one blind spot: she can't see people she cares about hurting her.

Other than that, Leliana really is a better bard than Marjolaine could hope to be. She became the Left Hand of the Divine, then the Spymaster of the Inquisition and possibly the Divine. Marjolaine doesn't hold a candle to her.

Marjolaine's flaw was that she struck against her out of jealousy instead of using her. Leliana would have opened up all kinds of opportunities for her. Now I'm wondering what someone like Baron Harkonnen could have done with a pawn like Leliana. *shudder*

I'm not sure Leliana ever had quite the mindset to be the perfect manipulator, though. Leliana isn't a complete sociopath like Marjolaine was.

I wish I could draw, because we badly need Leliana as Divine making out with the Hero of Ferelden.

On that note, what title would your PC want if romancing Leliana as Divine, if any? Aside from the "Consort" one that Orlesian party introducers would almost certainly bring up.

I'm not a terrible good drawer (ironic, cuz I paint), but I couldn't pass this up.  Here's for you, Xil :)

Wife?

Would Leliana introduce gay marriage too?

Ahh, I very much approve of the Hero of Ferelden's hair there. I'll now wish that Lilith's could stick up like that in-game. Nicely done indeed.

And for Lilith, fighting darkspawn is always fun, but being both the Divine's liaison to the Grey Wardens and possibly the Circle, and her lover, is almost a better dream job than being a Grey Warden.

Guddamn I didn't realize how much stuff Leliana has in volume 2.

The chapter she's primarily in is called 'The Hero of Ferelden' so I wonder if there'll be anything on the Warden themselves as well. Not sure what, mind you, but something.

Well I suppose that would explain this.

I'll just have to erase that bit of the book and replace it with 'The Warden returned to Thedas where she proceeded to make a lot of love to Leliana before she swept her up and they ran off and grew old together kthxbye take that weekes' or something. Canon. I say so.

@Snook In what context did Weekes say that? Was he talking to Leliana fans in particular?

Nah, it's a contextless tweet right now, mostly. He made another earlier about how he was writing a 'love scene' so I'm thinking he's speaking of some kind of Solas DLC. My body is ready.

Oh. That's ok then. I don't care about Solas. *shrug*

Now I can go back to adoring Leliana in peace.

My Inquisitor romanced him, so she needs answers. Preferably after kicking his lupine arse for hitting and quitting like that. :S

But yeah, false alarm. Lels is safe...I think...

I wouldn't worry too much. Josephine is not the object of nearly as many headcanons as Solas. He's the big focus of questions from DAI.

I wonder if they'll reveal in World of Thedas whether the Warden was successful in their quest or not. Since they've said they won't make a DLC featuring the HOF, this is the only way I can think of to complete their story.

And I wonder whether they'll shed some light on Leliana's last page about what she did after Inquisition if she isn't Divine Victoria. Or what happened if she was romanced, though I doubt it.

The book is written from an in-universe perspective and thus is pretty vague on player characters/choices/so on, so I doubt there will be anything substantial like that.

I wonder if Bioware writers sit around and sometimes mutter  'that bloody Warden! They just won't let him go!'

Bah, I'll let her go when BioWare stops giving me reason to want to know more, be it through more Leliana cameos while shoving the Warden offscreen or sending her on quests that sound more interesting than what the Inquisitor is doing.

Agreed. I mean, the heroes of Dragon Age have been the Warden (wow), the Champion (cool) and the Inquisitor (Indifferent). Is it any wonder people like the Warden best?  *tongue in cheek*

I actually prefer my Inquisitors for the reasons that other people prefer their Wardens. The lack of anything more than some text for their Origins made me fill in the details with my own ideas, so they feel more personal to me, and with Tressa my elf, well the game seemed made for the story I had in mind of losing her Dalish faith as she went through, right down to he confrontation with Sera after Mythal that so many people have problems with. I guess she would've worked well with a Solasmance too.

That said, I did get some major feels when Morrigan started talking about my Warden. There's still a big emotional connection there, for sure.

Hurlock Vanguard (Darkspawn Chronicles) is best protagonist.

(Nah Warden>Champion>Inquisitor. I want to like my Inquisitor like the other two but...just so dull. :/ )

*unless said Lelimancing Warden is dead, anyway.

Then it's just heartbreaking.
