Speaking of those two, anybody here hoping for a "Hey ladies, can you give me a hand?" joke?
I'm expecting Hands jokes from at least Sera and Varric...with lots of innuendos.

Leliana wonderings as opposed to ramblings...
What was the whole story about the caramel pudding? Was that where she met Marjolaine? Did she wrestle Marjolaine in the caramel pudding? How did Leliana get involved? How long did the cleaning up take? Did the pudding go bad before the entertainment was over? So many questions, I need to know!
Oh, and Morrigan accusing Leliana of being frigid is the funniest thing in the entire Dragon Age series.

Sounds like a perfect job for the Inquisition. Reach out for the truth!
Absolutely. Wynne is not nearly as perceptive as she thinks she is. Her interactions with Zevran, Leliana, Morrigan and the Warden lead me to believe that she is a horrible judge of character. You can check the YMMV for DAO on TV Tropes if you want my opinion of Wynne.
I suppose that makes a lot of sense (and Sheryl Chee liking that post certainly increases the validity of the argument xD ). I myself have never looked at it in that way, though. I always thought that deep down, she knows that a lot of what she thinks, says or does is wrong, but something inside her compels her to take on that motherly role, or that of the 'wise one' in the group. And that doesn't always come across the way she wants it to.
I don't, but I'm probably the only Dragon Age fan that believes Cassandra is straight.
I too believe Cassandra is straight, but I won't be extremely surprised when she turns out to be bisexual in Dragon Age: Inquisition. And I have to admit, I do like the idea of a Leliana/Cassandra-ship.

You can never trust those people, always teasing with their vague posts and likes that may or may not mean anything.

I liked it because I enjoy seeing the different interpretations of characters, especially when people notice things that may not have been intended. I just find it very interesting to see people drawing all these different conclusions about one character. ![]()

Or things that are not there in the first place... hehehe.
Hm...
Why does - almost (yes, there are people who don't like her all that much) - everyone like Leliana so much?
Sure, she is quite awesome sometimes - but:
She has her faults, too (and some of them are quite sad, for someone who is as traveled and who knows backroom dealings etc. like she does):
- seeing the chantry as being the solution to everything (they can do no wrong)
- working for the chantry (oppression of the mages (even if she has seen how the Dalish handle their mages and how the Grey Wardens do), trying to arrest people just for being there (Hawke), trying to win back an army (the templars - who are oppressed themselves by giving them lyrium!) etc.)
- limiting her view of the world (watching it through chantry-eyes, when she knows better...)
- being sanctimonious (after leading the live she did, preaching to others? - funny...pot calling kettel black and all that!)
I just can't understand her (yeah, she was rescued from death by someone from the chantry (forgot the name)...that's a reason to be thankful...but not to become a chantry drone (she does not question her orders as far as I know or at least express that she doesn't take everything at face value)...*shakes his head*

ps: I still like her...but I don't love the character anymore (I dislike people who limit their view of the world and accept that non-believers are hunted - It's no wounder, I am a non-believer after all!)

I'll just refer you to pages 52-54 of this thread. A few of us went into great detail about her there. ![]()
Oh I must admit I am not fan of Leliana the Chantry-Sister, though I do love Leliana as a whole in all of the games. You have to understand this, though: not all the Chantry does is bad. I mean, there are a number of things:
- giving shelter to those in times of need (Lothering, Redcliffe, Kirkwall)
- inspiring the people, giving them hope through their belief in the Maker
- They saved Leliana from death. I mean, that's a big plus in my book ![]()
And Leliana may be a bit Chantry-apologetic at first, but she's not always like that. She just starts off (in Origins) with strong faith in the Maker. Nothing wrong with having a bit of faith.
But in the end, of course she has her faults. Every good character does.
Trying to arrest people just for being there (Hawke)
While you made some good points there about Leliana's hypocrisy, I have to disagree with the reasons why she probably wants to find Hawke, or might believe as Cassandra did that they were more involved in the events at the Gallows than simply being present at the event?
In DA2 she encounters Hawke at least twice, the first time is where she explains that the Divine is ready to write off Kirkwall and declare an Exalted March if the situation doesn't improve, a situation not helped by the fact that Hawke and company just had to kill a bunch of rebel mages who were waiting to ambush her.
The second is in Chateau-Haine where Hawke is working with Tallis, someone that that Leliana appears to know is a Qunari agent. Even if she assumed that Hawke didn't know about Tallis being a Qunari (which they weren't, at first), it's clear that Hawke and Tallis are upto something when they encountered Leliana. I find it hard to beieve that Leliana wasn't at that party unaware of the existence of those documents and may even have wished to retrieve them herself, only to be beaten to the punch by Hawke and Tallis. The death of Prosper and the Qunari documents returning home in Tallis' hands suggest that while Hawke might have fought the Qunari in the past, their sympathies aren't necessarily aligned with the Chantry.
Either way, we know that Hawke is no stranger to trouble and getting involved, so it's not hard for Leliana to image they were involved in the rebellion, rather than being an unwitting accomplice and unwilling participant?
Spoiler
Also she did she used to be an assassin of sorts before running off to the Chantry.
What?
Mage hating Leliana?
God damned...chantry appologist and mage hating in combination? - I will have to kill her (I play mages most of the time) -.-
So - gotta read on...thanks for getting me to read Pages 52-54 of this thread ![]()

Well, you can't really hold a grudge against people you've killed. And she had a grudge against Marjolaine.

Well when she killed entire ferelden? ![]()
Point is that she didn't seem hold grude for entire social group because of torture she went rather after individual and she hold grude against them. Now we have smiliar situation but seems that entire social group gets grudge from same person.

We don't know if she hates all mages, just the ones in the group that captured her.

Whose to say he wasn't with them but left? His clothes have the same color scheme, both are from Tevinter, etc.

But not all of Ferelden is the group that captured her. That's like saying every every member of the qunari-race answers to the Arishok.
