I like her better in Origins, but I do agree they've done a good job with developing her. I'm still extremely 'meh' on quite a few things in Inquisition regarding her, and really hope Inquisition was the last chapter in her story so I can actually get the ending I want this time...but overall, she's one of the most well-rounded characters in the series by now, no doubt. The fact that this thread is still one of the most active character threads despite the character existing for 5 years now is testament to that. :S
Yeah, definitely agree with that.
Even though her character had some moments in Inquisition where the writers seemed to go a little too far with Darkside Leliana (A bard with no tongue can tell no lies, for example), I loved what they did with her.
Some might say Morrigan's development is better than Leliana's, because Morri's character ends up being more nice, while Leliana turns out very cold and reserved.
People shouldn't consider good character writing only being the one where the character goes from rude and bloodthirsty ---> soft and caring. It can be the other way around and be just as well-written. The most important part is the execution of said writing and for it to make sense with the character's surroundings, history and motivations.
Which is why there hardly any people complaining about Leliana's change of character compared to Liara's from Mass Effect.
Contrary to Liara, Leliana at least had a very sensible and believable reason as to why she was the way she is in Inquisition, while Liara's change from shy, awkward girl to a I'll-flay-you-with-my-mind badass in ME2 seemed like it was written for the sole purpose of making Liara be more hardcore in the Wrex-sort-of-way.
