Jokes on her, my completely oblivious Inquisitor 'agreed' with her, pushed for Cassandra, and succeeded in making Cass Divine without ever even suggesting Vivienne as a candidate. Her plan kinda backfires when I do exactly what she says she wants. :P

Apparently I almost got Cassandra as well. She was ahead of Vivienne until I went to the temple of Mythal... what on earth did you do while I was away, Viv?

Oh well. I guess I shouldn't have conscripted the mages, just to be safe.

Yeah that sort of happened to me as well, I don't know what happened at the Temple of Mythal; someone seems to gain a whopping increase in points for seemingly no reason. I mean, luckily for me it was Cassandra who I was rooting for anyway, but here's my readout of points before 'What Pride Had Wrought':

And...here it is afterwards.

I have no idea what I did. :S

Whatever happened I'm glad I can at least change that outcome in the Keep without having to alter my actual choices.

I still can't believe she tricked me into thinking she considered Cass the best candidate ("You should really support her, my dear") while quietly working behind my back to become Divine herself. Oh, but I'll be more careful next time :P

I really wish there was a dialogue option where after Cass/Leliana become Divine you can rub it in Vivienne's face.

There was one option in Origins during the Landsmeet where nearly all the nobles support you and you could tell Loghain right into his face; Ha you lost!

Like if that's not trolol from the Warden that I don't know what is. There were a lot of dialogue choices where your Warden could sound like a sarcastic a** in the wrong place at the wrong time in the first game just for the lulz.

I bet Alistair, Leliana and Morrigan were all facepalming into oblivion during those moments. Warden, stahp, just...don't.

Warden : Nah...

But, no matter what, nothing can top sarcastic!Hawke: I just don't work with ugly people.

So cringeworthy...

Hawke: it can't be a coincidence? It sounds exactly like a coincidence!

Even now that line makes me chuckle

Meh. I prefer her moving on from all this BS that's brought her so much misery and perhaps finding a genuinely happy life again, for once, like she wanted from the start. That last bit is a perfectly valid place for Cassandra to go too.

That would require Cassandra to actually fix things.

At any rate.

All in all, I think that Leliana will be happy as Divine. She's never exactly shied from doing what's right, and in that position, she finally won't have her actions dictated to her by others, but can follow her own conscience. Something that'll work out especially well when accompanied by the Hero of Ferelden.

It's just like the Alistair/Anora decision many years back, people arguing, losing their minds that if Anora or Alistair rule they'll bring Ferelden to ruin...Just like it is with Cassandra/Leliana/Vivienne now. By the time DA4 comes it'll turn out every candidate was a good choice and the Chantry/mages/templars will all be in the best shape. Especially if the next game goes to the North I doubt the devs will throw any more baggage on the events in Southern Thedas.

 In first place her position wasn't reason why her actions were dictated by others and it didn't change as she is still naive and easy to manipulate as inquisition proves. And with following her own conscience good luck pal...

I don't really care about the politics of the decision anymore, because yeah, you're right. Two sovereigns says they'll all be carbon copies of each other for all intents and purposes next game, much like Anora and Alistair. Folks saying 'Cassandra doesn't know what she's doing, it'll be disatrous!' and 'Leliana is too radical, everything will backfire!' have more faith in the weight of imported choices than I do.

Really it just comes down to the character and what we think is the best place for them. Some think she'll do fine there on a personal level. I think it's a bad place for her to go, and prefer she doesn't. Neither of us is likely to be proven right or wrong any time soon, either way.

Thedas is and will always be a relatively shitty place. All you can affect is who you want to pile that s**t on.

Nug cruelty becomes a capital offence, Why else would the halls of the grand cathedral run red with blood in the hardened divine ending.

My Inquisitor would probably be drawn and quartered in the middle of Val Royeaux for all her accidental nug kills.

I actually stopped buying one of those things as a gift for her in Origins, because I hate that constant squeaking in the camp.

Why couldn't Anders be the one that liked nugs and Leliana be the cat person?

First couple of times I missed out on the Nug gift, think because of going to orzammar late with maxed out approval.
