Personal opinion aside, he was better then all the antagonists after him.Pein was a terrible villain.

Squeeeeeeeeeee! Sleeping Leliana. So adorable.
I like this. She looks very young.
Id' say she is 16 years old in this pic. Right when she started her bard training. ![]()

Dayum, Cass and Leliana are rocking that longer hair. It'd be cool to see them like that as Divine in DA4 for example. 'Tis a bout time Leliana let her hair grow, Leliana's Song was the last time we saw her with long hair.
But I agree with the above poster, Leliana sure seems to give off an Andraste vibe the most. Didn't Cass/Sera once banter about Andraste being a ginger/redhead?

Now my theory of Leliana being a descendent of Andraste is
looking more sound

she looks nice with long hair there...and still has that mischievous glint in her eye
so things like Leliana's reforms...is her word simply law as Divine or are there checks and balances within the Chantry system with you know...the small matter of voting for example?

Here is the main reason I chose to soften Leliana:

Is it just me, or have some of the character threads, including Leliana's become less active as of late? I guess lack of any news/no new DLC announcements factor into this...

While I wouldn't be thrilled to romance the naive religious girl from those times, it should be truly interesting to do so with the fearsome spymaster from DA:I.
Shame that Leliana can't be an option again. She's a different and more mature person now.

It's the way Leliana speaks and carries herself in most character interactions in this game.
So calm and collected whenever she discusses the next move. Her wit and sarcasm in other moments as well.

That's more because she's emotionally shut down and generally distant. She is a clever and sarcastic person in Origins too. It especially shows in her banters with Morrigan and Zevran. She's just more cheerful.

I wonder if she remains as emotionally distant now as Divine - possibly so if hardened, not so if er...softened?

I agree...I bet the only person with whom Leliana can be her true self is only the Warden and given her tragic past, they are the only family she has now. As for an Ultimate Sacrifice Warden...I don't even want to think about how lonely Leliana would feel.
Imagine if Cullen and Josie's relatives came to visit at Skyhold, a huge family reunion and then you see Leliana staring from the distance with a sorrowful look, not knowing whether her love is still alive/thinking about her long dead Warden lover. ![]()

They did indeed.
To be honest if they go on and make Leliana a descendant of Andraste it wouldn't surprise me in the least...there have been too many hints.
It's seems a much more likely theory than her having the spirit of Dirthamen in her, cause if they make her a vessel of a God and then Sera turning out to be Andruil it would make her character less unique. Gods, gods everywhere...
I have a feeling they will put more emphasis on Lels in a Darkspawn/Magister DLC they have been hinting given she has the highest resistance to the Blight. Maybe it will turn out Andraste's descendants have Blight resistance and they will connect all the theories/hints about Leliana in a DLC.

If Leliana turns out to be a descendant of Andraste, I'm going to be disappointed to be honest. Why must cool abilities always come from ancestors? It makes the character seem cheap. They're not special, their ancestor was! Leliana's resistance to the Blight could just be evolution in action. A mutation that took place over time as humanity has become more exposed to the Blight.

Orlais and Ferelden also bicker over where Andraste was born. The Orlesians claim she was from Jader and the Fereldans Denerim. Leliana is both Orlesian and Fereldan.

I wonder whether resistance to the Blight is what determines whether or not a Grey Warden recruit survives the Joining. Consider that Oghren was totally unphased by drinking the archdemon slurpie while the humans and elves collapsed in agony. It would make sense for dwarves, who have lived in much closer proximity to the darkspawn for centuries, to have greater resistance to the poison/germs carried by them.
Rather than seeing Leliana's resistance to the taint as evidence of some divine origins, I think a lot of people in Thedas probably share similar traits. The diseases carried by the darkspawn have been around enough for some people to have built up natural resistances. Maybe that is the determining factor for who survives a Joining.
