That reminds me of my Tabris. Even after all that time, she still blamed herself for not being fast enough to rescue Shianni in time.
Agreed, my Tabris is much the same.
And on the subject of doubts, that's actually one of the things I really like about Leliana. She's a woman of great faith and determination, yes, but she's also willing to step back a bit and examine herself, what she does and what she stands for. Too many of the Inquisition companions are simply judgemental jerks, wholly incapable of any real self-reflection or moments of vulnerability, so it's nice to see Leliana question herself a bit.
On another note (if I may be permitted to indulge in some shameless plugging for a moment
), I've just posted the most recent chapter of my Origins novelization The Grey Path, so feel free to check it out: https://www.fanficti...4/The-Grey-Path
Here's a small, Leliana-centric sample for you all:
“Of course. I love stories far too much to keep them to myself,” came the redhead’s earnest reply. “And what of your people? Do they share stories of elven heroes past?”
“There are fewer of those than you might think, regrettably,” lamented Sagramor. “So much of our history has been lost or destroyed over the centuries, and some days, it’s hard to find champions of my folk worth singing about.”
Leliana gave a bright smile. “Well, there’s you, isn’t there?” she reminded him.
