Zevran's a lot more stable in his (general lack of) conscience and sure of who he is than Leliana. Don't think he'd have anywhere near as many problems with the role.

But then the doubt is part of Leliana's appeal. She's a good person trying to reconcile doing awful things for the greater good. Then again it might just be me...

She didn't even let Cassandra join her as Right Hand.

There's an implicit assumption there that Cass would want to accept the role for a third time. I'm not sure that she would. Her focus would likely be on reforming the Seekers.

Here's a crazy notion I just had; Leliana and the Warden getting married on a ship. After all, the captain of a sailing vessel technically outranks God, so why wouldn't he be able to marry them, in spite of the racist laws of both the Chantry and secular society? Just a random thought, I'll admit.

When you first meet Leliana, you're attacked by Loghain's guards. The last guy standing begged mercy and I had my Warden say "I can't let you report back to him".

Then she convinces you to let him go because he's already surrendered. What do you know, Leliana softening your character instead of the other way around! Ha ha.

She's always had a forgiving side to her character. She just lost touch with it over the years of doing Justinia's dirty work. That's the point of softening her in DAI.

I find her a very sad character. Especially the way she turns out if she was romanced in the DAO. I know its the impression only because I have played the previous games so I remember how full of life she was in DAO, in DAI she just seems like a rose that instead of blooming closed her petals and grew more barbs.

I was disappointed that even softened Leliana still gives you a cold answer when you ask for bard stories.

Inspired/softened Leliana, to me, is what Josephine says, "niceness before knives." At least try the diplomatic options first and look for solutions that don't involve killing people before assassinations and blackmail.

What DAO story do you guys find suits her development in DAI the best? An UltSacrifice Warden? No romance at all?

 

First time I ever played DAO it was Leliana and Ultimate Sacrifice. Should I just stick with that?

 

I don't have much interest in repeating Inquisition again, but I liked having a Dark Ritual Warden present. It meant that, after Corypheus was defeated, she could have someone to come home to, you know?

Oh, yeah, she'd totally be up for it. After all, an illicit marriage, one outside the Chantry that would totally ****** off the more conservative members of its hierarchy? Wild horses couldn't stop her.

Softened Leliana isn't less of a realist, really.

She's just more open minded and understands that things don't always need to be bloody.

LoL softened leliana is pretty much disney princess ,and even hardened is pretty much out of touch with reality (same as her endings) , difference between softened or not is pretty that she is less ruthless and regains her faith.

I wouldn't say she mocked her for softness rather that she will now boast that she was right , but i guess it is up to interpretation.

My Warden lives, but an ultimate sacrifice Warden takes a lot less headcanon to tie into her DAI development, tbh. There are still a bunch of oversights with a living/romanced Warden, whereas a US/romanced Warden fits in quite seamlessly.
