My Warden lives, but an ultimate sacrifice Warden takes a lot less headcanon to tie into her DAI development, tbh. There are still a bunch of oversights with a living/romanced Warden, whereas a US/romanced Warden fits in quite seamlessly.
I was thinking of making her Divine too, so perhaps this is fitting.
He was like her first real convert...so to speak.
I wouldn't say she mocked her for softness rather that she will now boast that she was right , but i guess it is up to interpretation.
What DAO story do you guys find suits her development in DAI the best? An UltSacrifice Warden? No romance at all?
First time I ever played DAO it was Leliana and Ultimate Sacrifice. Should I just stick with that?
US romanced Warden seems to fit the most with Leliana's development and story in Inquisition.
Even though my canon is a DR Warden who romanced Leliana (with which I was really satisfied with in Inquisition), sometimes I feel that for a US Warden Leliana is the most fitting and well-written romance of the Origins cast. US Warden gets the most mentions by Leliana in Inquisition as well.

A Morrigan romanced DR warden that went through the Eluvian could work well, if you had a warden that flirted with both and chose Morrigan when it came to the confrontation. Maybe that would be a motivation for Leliana to throw herself into her work for Justinia...

Or maybe a Softened Leliana with the Ashes preserved and the Chantry Scholar allowed to spread news. I think her epilogue slide says she leads the expedition to Heaven. I imagine that's how she becomes Justina's Left Hand and the following 10 years grinds away her optimism and faith.

With my DR femmeWarden it's still pretty sweet how she mentions her.
I don't know if that's already been mentioned but...I'm actually playing Origins (after Inquisition...yeah shame on me) and I was wondering if I were the only one who couldn't picture Leliana with a male Warden ? (and urgh...didn't know about that threesome, I just missed it...so disappointed

Leliana is very popular with a female Warden, but there are just as many Male!Wardens out there to romance her.
The threesome is nice, but I prefer my Leli to be exclusive.
Also she may have a strong contender for god tier wafu from another fandom lately for me... not saying who.

It's more that I'm not a big Morrigan fan... and I only care about the heterosexual pairings if I play a male. Too much self-insert, I guess. That just leaves Leliana.
Ah, I knew it! And yeah... I like her to be exclusive too, even if I enjoyed her reaction when talking to the pirate girl. Funny, I also liked the idea of her softening up my character (human female warrior) before she gets hardened and finally accepts herself
And urgh. It's so hard to choose between a US and a DR warden for my canon. On one hand I like dramatic stories but on the other hand... I really love the idea of my warden going on adventures with Leliana. I guess I'll have to wait until I play DA II before I make my final choice. (oh, I shouldn't have listened to Nightingale's eyes, now I'm all emotional and stuff)

For some reason, I always found Leliana to fit more with an elf as a romance than human, regardless of gender. I don't know why, one reason would be her fascination with elves and elven history/stories in general. Another would be her banter with Zev about how she finds elves really attractive.
I know it is bias, but I had the impression Leliana had more chemistry with my Mahariel than Cousland.
I consider a romance between Leliana and a Warden who survived DA:O as a fable about the problems of having different careers and keeping a relationship.
After DA:O:
Warden: "Sorry, Leliana, I know I promised that we would go on an adventure, but there's a darkspawn army causing problems in Amaranthine and they need my help".
Leliana: "Now that you mention that, my friend Dorothea sent me a letter. She needs my help too, and I owe her a lot".
Warden: "Well, I guess waiting for a year or two won't hurt, right?"
After DA2:
Warden: "I have discovered some clues I need to follow. I will be away from Ferelden for a while. What will you do?"
Leliana: "Sigh, Dorothea needs me for something called 'Project INQ'. I won't be able to accompany you".
Warden: "Don't worry, I'll try to write as often as I can. It's time I leave some codex entries of my own!"
After DA:I:
Warden: "Leliana! You won't believe what I found in...! Wait, how come you're the Divine?!"
Leliana: "Things happened".
Not if you don't make her Divine tho.
Then they can finally get some R&R time.
