Is there a reason why the casteless don't just go and become surface dwarves? What's keeping them there?

At that point, Justinia didn't know Leliana will become the divine though. As I said previous, I wholeheartedly agree with softened Leliana being better. But not a better divine.
Given what we know of chantry zealots, and how stubborn they are, I highly doubt they will remain stable long. A divine must think about the future as well, not just her own rule at the time.
A Chantry at war with itself isn't stable at all. I don't see how violence is suppose to change hearts and minds, especially when Leliana's platform is about ideals and encouraging good, not dictating it. Do you not feel it is hypocritical to try to shove Leliana's ideals on her enemies and not abide by them by resorting to violence? What makes Hardened Leliana any different from Merideth, Lambert, or Petrice? They've employed tyranny as well and that only spurned their detractors to fight even harder against them. Do you not think Leliana will not end up the same way? If Leliana is undefeated, her old age will cause her to die and her successor will have to continue her war. Endless warfare will not benefit the Chantry or Leliana's ideals.
A Chantry trying to reform it's ways cannot start with hypocrisy and broken promises. When the violence spills over to the populace, other people will act to subdue the Chantry itself. Then Leliana's reforms will be at the whims of the Chantry's conquerors.
I never thought of Justinia to want a hardened Leliana as Divine. She wanted to gather support for her ideals, not enforce them with bloodshed.

Leliana looks really good in that Seeker armor. She'd fit really well both in light and heavy armor.
Hey guys, do you think there's a chance we could get a video interview with Corinne Kempa like the Kate Mulgrew one from a month ago, considering that she's been recording new stuff for Bioware recently? Claudia Black and Steve Valentine did one as well before DAI came out, even though Morrigan and Alistair's roles in the game turned out to be smaller than Leliana's, so now she's the only "big" VA we haven't heard about for a while. I would love to hear what she has to say about her character and her journey, especially if it's truly coming to an end (and I still hope it's not).
I hope so. They seem to be releasing a new one every month so fingers crossed. They seem to be slightly teasing Leliana's role in the future DLC so who knows? Maybe they didn't release an interview with her because it was too spoiler-y?
It would be a shame if they didn't. Corinne seems to be really enthusiastic about Leliana as a character, and I was completely blown away by how much in-depth Kate Mulgrew went regarding Flemeth. I wonder if Leliana's video will top Felemth's. I didn't find Morrigan's video rather interesting. It was rather short and she talked about voice-acting in general than her character. :/
You can try asking Bioware on twitter for any information.

They thought that releasing walking bombs to walk among folks was very bad idea? ![]()

I'm pretty sure she didn't walk out of that dungeon in Leliana's Song with only emotional scars.
In Origins they use the same nude model for every female in the game and in Inquisition she never takes off her armor, so we never get to see whether or not she has any scars. Wouldn't make any sense if she didn't, after all she was a bard, then a veteran of the Fifth Blight and then an assassin for the Divine for nearly a decade and WOT2 says she has been at the front lines during multiple battles for the Sunburst Throne.
There's even that one conversation in the first game where she talks about her scars and the Warden can reassure her that they only add more beauty and complexity to her character. Not the exact quotation but it was something along those lines.

You are right, they did use the same models for all nudes, it makes sense now.
I never got that conversation about her scars, do you remember around what part of the story/affection it unlocks?

Just replayed Leliana's sidequest and found it. My memory is pretty bad.
After the quest, and in the camp, you must ask her "Are you feeling better about what happened with Marjolaine?". I took screenshots a bit too late.

I think that she's mostly being figurative in that conversation
That's what i thought at first look. But it could be literal as well. Or both.

I'd say both. :3
Part of Leliana may be all about shopping, Orlesian balls and cute bunny-pig pets but we both know she's also a fighter who isn't afraid to get her hands bloody. She doesn't strike me as someone who'd want to comfortably settle down and live a quiet life, disconnected from the rest of the world.
She clearly admits she was bored in the cloister in Lothering, Part of her will always long for the dangers of adventure and uncertainty of tomorrow. As long as her Warden is by her side of course. ^.^

They've got really bad misconceptions of the surface world, namely that they'll fall into the sky. Dwarves that haven't left the underground tend to think very, very negatively of surface races too.

Created a new Inquisitor last night (to romance Dorian. It'll be the first time I'll have played a gay man in a game. I'm actually quite looking forward to it) and I managed to capture Leliana in mid-crow-release...

Enjoy DA2. But beware, some consider it the weakest link in the series.
It was surprising for me how many people claimed DA2 was great after Inquisition came out. Must've been the fact they found a new thing to hate.
Man I'm late...again. But thanks! Yeah I've read a little about that but since I enjoyed DAO (and now Awakening) and DAI equally, I think it won't be such a disappointment... as long as there are good characters, DA humour and stuff, I'll be fine.
Oh well.
Spoiler
Same here. I love jester-like Cassandra and seeker-Leliana : she's so much prettier without that hood (it may be badass, but... I don't know, it makes her...chin/jaw look a little weird)

Oh, it's a great game of it's own right. Some call it a poor Dragon Age, but it's a great game - and certainly a good enough DA.

I agree, she'd pass as Leli. Especially considering what today's movie people can do...

If we look at physical appearance; body, weight, height, Bryce Howard really does look like Leliana. There's no doubt she'd portray her really well too.
Another actress who I think has lots of potential for an Origins movie is Jessica Chastain. (If you know about Bryce you'd have probably heard about Jessica too, ever since they starred in a movie together people are constantly confused whose playing who in movies since they look so alike...google both of them, you'll see).
She'd be my ideal choice for Inquisition Leliana especially. The actress has said in multiple interviews how she loves to play strong female characters with a complicated past who struggle with their motivations and their own identity. I think she's even played a few characters with a similar mentality as Leliana; who start off as naive, bright-hearted and end up cynical and cold about the world.
In one of her upcoming movies, she's playing a medieval, red-headed rogue character who's an archer with a few other tricks up her sleeve. Remind you of a certain bard from the first game? ![]()
