I agree. It's obvious the last 10+ years haven't been kind to her at all and not to mention she's the Origins LI who has been separated from the Warden the most.
Ever since Awakening Justinia has been eyeing Leliana as her new Spymaster. Don't tell me Dorothea didn't know a few years in advance that she was going to be chosen as Divine.
If Inquisition proved anything it was that Dorothea was a shady and very secretive person. She loved Leliana but loved the power that came with being Divine more. She knew what being a Left Hand would do to Leliana especially since Dorothea was one of the few who saw Leliana at her lowest after Marjolaine's betrayal and was well aware that Leliana hasn't been emotionally stable ever since then.
I have to disagree with on Justina's motivations. I don't think she was power-hungry in the sense that Marjorline was; she simply recognized that Thedas and the Chantry needed to change in order to stop the mage vs. templar conflict, and that such change wouldn't come about because she asked nicely. She's like Hardened!Leliana in many respects: she has good motivations and truly wants to change the world for the better, but is willing to get her hands dirty in order to do so. In principle, I can totally see where she's coming from, and why she might be willing to employ Leliana in such a role.
I also don't think Leliana had to be manipulated into serving as the Left Hand; she's a tougher woman than a lot of people give her credit for, and when she reigns as Divine, she carries out an agenda similar to what Justina would have, had she not been so hamstrung by Chantry politics (though of course her methods might differ, depending on whether or not she was hardened or softened). Her disillusionment in the game comes largely from being burned out and emotionally exhausted after all the tragedies she's experienced, not because Justina was pulling her strings.
I'm sure Fluffy Ninja Llama will come through, as usual. Best channel on Youtube for cutscenes.
Yeah, she's pretty awesome. I've finding her stuff a great resource for my fanfiction, if I ever need to reference a scene.
With or without a romance Leliana deserve always her happy ending, one of the rare characters that support you multiple times without ask for huge compromises.
A valiant defender of justice, who bear sadness but never retreat from the goal.
Absolutely. As much as I love the Leliana romance, it's also important to remember that she's more than just a love interest. She's an awesome and engaging character in her own right, and doesn't need to be the Warden's lover in order to tell stories featuring her. That's just icing on the cake
