Ha! I wanna seen the haters try to convince me that Leliana and Cass hate each other. Yes, they disagree often, but they always have each other's backs. I'd say they are an awesome team.
And I seemed to have missed that note from Charter, damn. Good to know that Leliana still has faithful agents in her ranks. After Trespasser, some people were ready to jump on the - Leliana is an incompetent spymaster - bandwagon just because Solas

Haters are very very wrong. Cassandra doesn't even hate Varric, let alone Leliana.
I don't think it was a matter of incompetence, there's little she could have done to prevent this mess.
Anyway, I want Charter as a companion in DA4. There, I said it ![]()

Is there any difference between hardened and unhardened Leliana in Trespasser? I was rather confused as she didn't really act like the hardened character i expected, far more in line with a softened one.

None that I've found so far, apart from potentially that line where Giselle says few dare to oppose Divine Leliana. Another choice rendered pointless.

I think there's a difference during the cutscene where she asks the Inquisitor to walk with her around the Winter Palace. If she was softened she says how now she sees tears shed in the night over silk embroidery and hands rubbed raw to maker gold gleam, but if she's hardened she says all she sees is blood and hidden knives.
There's also a slight difference if she's not Divine and is romanced. If she's hardened, when asked about the Warden she says that duty has kept them apart and maybe it's time to be a little selfish and if softened she says that things can't seem to calm down for them to be together again.
Yes. Truth be told, she's the only Divine I'm safe with the honor guard. She'll need protection and I'm sure she'll find ways to ferret out corruption.
Same. Even if the Inquisition continues, the epilogue does say it has shrunken in size and many of its members were either neutralized or thoroughly questioned and chased out. And the survived several assassination attempts line about Divine Leliana sure as hell made me uneasy.

Hardened or not, i'm glad they didn't transform her on Marjolaine 2.0 and instead, made her even more badass.

I get the opposite
They both start with the "We are well, thank you. Our duties have kept us apart for a long time."
and then with soft "Perhaps it is time to put duty aside and be selfish. I have sacrificed so much already."
and hard "I know we will be together again one day. I just don't know when that will be. Things never seem to settle down. "

I'm wondering, does softened Leliana also stop the rebellion in her divine ending or is that just hardened Leliana?
I had softened Divine Leliana and her ending said that after restoring Shartan's verse in the Chant a schism broke out across Southern Thedas and she wasn't perturbed by that or the assassination attempts, holding it as proof she's on the right path. Nothing about stopping the rebellion.
What did you get for the hardened Divine ending?

I assume the rebellion being referenced is the schism that is mentioned. Seems like that no matter who Divine Victoria is, trouble starts brewing regardless. Not shocking, we will never get a perfectly happy ending since we need drama left over for the next game.

At least on my hardened Leliana playthrough, the ending was the same as above but when it came to the rebellion, the ending said that it quickly fell apart and eventually faded into obscurity with some believing the Divine had some part in the rebellion's destruction.
Here's my ending:

I can count the number of perfectly happy endings in history on the fingers of the Inquisitor's left hand.

Well Oghren comments on the rich pure lyrium doing things and changing the temple (not to mention all the spirits and such). The ashes are known to universally heal (like Arl Eamon) probably because of the lyrium. Having her resurrected thanks to it makes sense. The annoying part is that it seems tacked on for all the people complaining/wanting a reason for her revival as it's never mentioned or influences her character and is just dropped in at the end epilogues if killed and not Divine.

Wonder what that ending would mean for her in any potential future appearances though.
not that I even get what it means
Is she like a lyrium zombie?
Did she get Wynne'd?
Is she not even the original Leliana at that point, just got Cole'd?

I imagine it'll get treated like Leliana's unhardened Ultimate Sacrifice DAO slide.

I doubt we'll be seeing anymore of Leliana in the series. She might get mentioned, but I doubt she'll be an NPC.

And I'd be good with that. Though I do still feel like the Inquisition, disbanded or not, is still going to have some presence in the next game, so she might turn up somewhere.
I just hope they make it so the Warden is actually doing something relevant too, probably off-screen, seeing as they're apparently back from the west now.

Agree fully about the Warden.
I'd love to see him/her turn up at Weisshaupt, but sadly I also have a feeling it will be left to Hawke or Stroud to sort out whatever is going on there.

Which is still kind of weird to me...that seems like something that would logically make a lot more sense for the Warden to do from a story perspective.
Hawke is dead for me though, so Stroud being involved is better.
