Big sister Leliana is always watching Inquisitor. Always. Anything to keep Josie from experiencing a Marjolaine 2.0 with the Inquisitor.

I think Leliana's interference in Josephine's romantic life is a double-edged sword. The fact that she deliberately puts things "out there" is a cute way to let you pursue a romance with Josie if you want to, and consequently get on your Spymaster's good side; but if you're just flirting around without bad intentions it forces you to officially turn her down in what is probably the most awkward conversation in the game. Before falling for Sera my Adaar used to flirt with everyone (even with Harding - something Sera constantly approved of) and she got the shovel talk after a couple of flirts with Josie. When Leliana replied to her poor excuses with "You mean to tell me I misread the situation? Interesting" she started fearing for her life, but it wasn't nearly as bad as having to tell a previously-clueless Josie that there had been a misunderstanding and they were just friends after all. It's like she always develops a crush on the Inquisitor but never takes their flirts seriously until they have to confront her about what Leliana said, accidentally leading her on.

No, I'm just a horrible human being that used Leliana (then went full Morrigan romance). And I was playing a male human Noble. He... Was preparing to be dumped by Morrigan so there's that.

I noticed the difference in her personality instantly. In origins she was overly religious and had a strong belief to be merciful, then in inquisition she was cold and ruthless, but I actually liked her better. I wonder why bioware made such a change in her personality though? Anyway I was surprised and most of the time prefer the change. oh and I really like her armor.

Because of her position...what she'd been doing for the last ten years...and then Justinia is murdered. I think that would take it's toll on the best of us emotionally.

My only adjustment was trying to see her as not bae...that was incredibly hard to do even within role-playing.

if Leli is Divine in Trepasser, the banter is awesome between the advisors. I imagine since she and Josie are bff's, it is sometimes awkward between them but only in how Josie addresses her. Cullen with that "yes your...Leliana" ahahahaha!

You're right, I keep forgetting about her even though she was my favorite Awakening companion. Maybe it's because I feel I never had the chance to really know her. I would love to hear from her again though.

It's a bit jarring for me except when the Warden (romanced) was dead. That's including Justinia as well though. /headcanon

 

Then again, maybe I just have a thing for the US Warden. Hard to imagine them any other way now.

My Cousland, Vera, was the only one to take this route. In that playthrough, I couldn't see Alistair ruling alone or with Anora so I surprised everyone and declared it. I do remember picking the option to tell Alistair that it was strictly political so don't get any ideas dude. Only thing is...I remember having to have break up dialog with Leli and I don't remember what I missed to not get the mistress option(the dragon keep import does have her called the mistress to the queen of ferelden during winter palace). I remember her sad face though and I don't think I'll ever do THAT again.

I think there was a bug where she used her unhardened dialogue. So you needed either a mod that fixed it or to avoid talking to her post-landsmeet for things to work out right.

I feel a bit bad for Alistair about itm, particularly isnce Leliana and Warden don't seem to be exactly discreet about things. I spent a bit of time head-canoning Leliana and Queen Cousland playing matchmaker with King Alistair and Warden Bethany to make up for it. Which is probably kind of weird of me, but whatever...

Few things are weird with Leliana (even if I don't like some things... like hardening).. I think her overall story has more options than just about anyone (or at least make sense if you headcanon a bit).

I love that they used the music from Leli's DLC to make a proper song for her, she deserved it. It's still one of my favorite tavern songs, topped only by Once We Were.

 

I used to side-eye Maryden for her "craven master spy" line but I heard her calling Leliana "brave and bold" in Trespasser, so all is well now.

I really like how Leliana (who got extra attention throughout the series, being one of the few Origins characters to have an appearance of some sort in DA2, MotA, Inquisition, and getting her own DLC in Origins) got a song...

 

...and so did Sera, for whom this was the first appearance. It gives me hope that Sera might play some role in the future, and originally I had hope that there would be a DLC dedicated to Sera.

 

That said, I did look forward the most to Leliana from the old characters, and Sera from the newcomers.

I admit it took me a while to understand Sera (quite literally at first, because English is not my first language so I had a hard time adjusting to the way she talks) but once I did I loved her. I feel she's very underrated as a character and many people don't even bother trying to know her better, to see where she's coming from. The maturity she showed after two years amazed me and one of my favorite moments in Trespasser was when she told my Lavellan she had asked her "friends" to look for any survivors of her clan. 

 

I share your hope, Serza. Sera is one of the few characters who could come back not just as NPCs but as companions, so it's possible that we'll see her again. The same thing can be said about Harding I guess.
