Maybe there isn't much Leliana/M!Warden on tumblr because many people feel like there's always less f/f content around than f/m or even m/m content, so they try to balance things out with fanart and fanfiction (and headcanons that some of you have called "weird"). In the end they're just expressing a preference, it doesn't automatically mean they all hate men or think Leliana does. Yes, there are also those who write rude comments and attack people for making different choices but let's not act like it's just a tumblr thing, they are everywhere and this forum makes no exception. All you can do about it is surround yourself with decent/trusted people and enjoy the content that you like, ignoring the rest.
Personally I never thought the M!Warden/Leliana romance was rapey or condescending, it's just different and I feel that difference adds more to Leliana's character. I just happen to prefer female characters and female OCs, so my attention is usually focused on f/f romances. I can't bring myself to care too much about a dynamic that never worked for me if I can choose one that works.

That's the sad thing.. if people think it's condescending or "rapey". I can understand her having a preference somewhat, but that's harsh. I had nothing but warm fuzzy feelings about this back in 2009/2010.

I mean, m!Warden x Leliana is my jam but I accept that Leliana is bisexual and that it's normal for a bi person to have a preference for one gender over the other. I have a bi friend who prefers males over females, for example. It's completely normal for the romance to have a different tone depending on whether it's male or female Warden. I tried explaining this to someone on Tumblr but all of a sudden I was attacking the person and disrespecting their opinion. So i just gave up.
Some people on Tumblr find everything offensive. That's why I'm hesitant to post headcanons/fan art of my m/f pairings for Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I have f/f as well, but most of them are m/f. I tend to avoid Tumblr now because people are currently riled up by the new N7 trailer for ME and why there's Femshep's VA in the trailer.
As someone who has Maleshep as her canon it irritated me when someone said all of us Maleshep players should delete their saves and start playing as the canon Shepard.

As someone who has Maleshep as her canon it irritated me when someone said all of us Maleshep players should delete their saves and start playing as the canon Shepard.
I follow a few Maleshep players and they seemed to take that comment as a sarcastic response to people actually claiming Maleshep was the canon Shepard, which is as wrong as saying Femshep is. Maleshep has been all over the place for years, so when suddenly the focus is on Femshep (long after the end of the trilogy, in this case) the least one could do is be cool with it, let it slide. But what did we get instead? The usual rants about "feminists ruining the trilogy" and "Bioware hating heterosexual men", all for a trailer where Femshep isn't even physically present. Can you really blame people for replying "yeah whatever, delete your saves if you really feel they were invalidated by a single trailer"? I know I can't.
Of course if we're talking about different comments feel free to ignore this post entirely. Or ignore it anyway

According to a theory that's been going around recently she could be an agent of Fen'Harel, if not the agent responsible for the whole Trespasser mess. I hope it's not true, not only because I would like Charter to be on our side (if not in our party) in the future but also because otherwise it would be another instance of "Leliana has to screw up somehow for the story to move forward", and frankly I've had enough of that.
Yeah and I liked that while the other elves serving the Inquisition mostly went away she decided to stay and was chosen as one of Leliana's successors. It would be a shame if it was just another one of Solas' plots we could do nothing about.
Plus I don't think Leliana would react well to another of her friends betraying her.

Nothing except that she's elven and didn't leave. I think that theory is mostly based on what The World Of Thedas vol.2 has to say about Charter: apparently she is a "notorious master in false identities" known as The Black Hart and she was looking for a steady employment when Leliana asked her to work for the Inquisition under the name of Charter. The author concludes with "It is almost certain that he or she has shed that nickname for another by the time of this writing", but the only clues I found in Trespasser seem to go in the opposite direction. For example there's the note you can read in the Winter Palace right before heading to the final battle, where Charter says she'll understand if after the "oversight" with the Qunari spies a better agent gets promoted (as Leliana's successor?) in her place; then Leliana reassures her and jokingly (?) points out that she has enough scandalous gossip on her to know she can trust her, which can't be said about many other agents. That and the fact that it was Leliana who first contacted Charter (and not the other way around, like in the case of the elven spies "seeking refuge" in the Inquisition) convince me that this time Leliana knows who she's dealing with.

The only issues I had with playing Trespasser on my old laptop were during the Deep Road section. I don't know why but after a few minutes there the game started lagging so badly I couldn't even open my inventory, let alone fight or climb a ladder, and then it started crashing every five minutes. It's a miracle I managed to get out and finish the playthrough.
I said I was gonna play Fallout, but I just ended up distracted with DAO.... again. I'll get to Fallout soon. Never played the PC/Modded version of DAO before. I love the sacred ashes mod for Leli.. this armor should've been in the game. They even portray her that way in the Keep.

I never thought anything of it either way. I was in my own little world. If anything, I just liked her because I saw a little of myself in her. I used to be kind of a thug, and then turned to spirituality. And I'm a musician. lol. So you could just say I gravitated to someone I identified with, storywise. And as a guy, I never saw the big deal with Morrigan. If that's supposed to my option. I think she's awful, tbh. What can I say?

Yeah, there's no point in trying to appease the unappeasable. As a liberal progressive LGBT-friendly feminist guy myself, it's really frustrating to see social justice movements trying to solve real problems be drowned out by this self-indulgent white noise from the professionally offended. I wouldn't march to the beat of their drum; they're going to be angry no matter what you do, so what's the point in wasting time and energy trying to reason with them? Personally, I'd love to see your headcanons/fan art. You shouldn't have to be ashamed of the good work you do.
If anything, Leliana is an extremely loyal partner. I can't imagine her cheating on the Warden or anyone she's romantically involved with.
that's the thing about Leli that is glossed over a lot, I think. She stays down for you...neither distance or time would change that about her.

Too often in fiction, one's love life and one's career/duty/calling are set up as mutually exclusive conditions; you can either be with someone, or stay committed to your cause, but not both. I love how Leliana and the Warden actively defy that. Their committment to each other hasn't changed, and indeed is stronger than ever despite the distance between them, but neither are going to abandon the things they believe in for each other either. It's... unusually mature.

If I remember correctly she's the one who recruited Harding. In Trespasser she acts like Leliana's second in command and keeps her updated on the scouts' activities throughout the quest. Oh she also guards our storage chest and wardrobe in the Winter Palace.

Yeah, many people seem convinced that Merrill would gladly help Solas with his plan but it doesn't make much sense to me.
I wonder if we'd ever see Merrill again. It sounds like they had bigger plans at one point, for the expansion for DA2 (the Mythal stuff).
