In a franchise where "rivalmance" exists and is widely accepted this is hardly the weirdest thing that could happen.

Of course she does, she was basically raised by Mythal for this purpose. I too was disappointed in having a human as our "elven expert" in DAI, but I can't really take it out on Morrigan. She lived most of her life in total isolation from civilization and knowing only what her (abusive) mother exposed her to, but at the same time she got access to more magical knowledge than most Dalish elves could ever have. She was taught to cherish and preserve that knowledge, we can't really expect her to drop everything just because it's partly based on elven lore and she's not an elf herself.

But all that matters is that my Cousland wants her armor. No, she isn't my Leliana romance. She's a Alistair one (becuase I am a classy person that likes marriages happy. And he ninjamances me. And I didn't mind very much.) But yeah, Leliana is a epic lady in DAI, I was slightly terrified of her actually, but she's way cooler then the goodie two shoes little lady she was in DAO.
