Forgive me, but how is Leliana Slytherin?

'Those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends' would certainly describe DAI Leliana. She's not shy about resorting to extortion, maiming and murder to get results. If she is made Divine, even softened Leliana fits the Slytherin type: her reforms are nothing if not ambitious. She's basically turning the Chantry and its doctrine on their head. That's pretty big.

 

I don't see her as a Ravenclaw at all as they are the kind of people who enjoy learning for its own sake. Leliana is not an Intellectual type, which doesn't mean she's not smart. She's certainly brave, but not the Gryffindor kind. She's not a knight in shining armor. If anything, I think her best fit is Hufflepuff. Hardworking and Loyal. If there is one thing she displays, it's unwavering loyalty to her friends and loved ones. And if you think Hufflepuff is too 'nice' for her, remember that their symbol is a badger. Badger are nasty little monsters when they are riled.

 

Of course, that only works if you step away from the childish black and white interpretation of the Houses that Rowling gave us. Otherwise Leliana is Gryffindor because that's the 'good guy' house and 'ambition' actually means 'megalomania' thus Slytherins are all power-hungry, cheating, selfish jerks. *ranting*

The thing is that Leliana has no personal ambition, until the very end of Inquisition, arguably. Sure, she's extremely pragmatic, but she doesn't want anything in particular for herself... which may be why she winds up being exploited way too often. So yes, I'd say Hufflepuff is a better fit.

I think the one thing Leliana really wants for herself is to be happy, but one of the things that makes her happy is helping those she is attached to. A trait that was noticed and horribly exploited by those two c-words Marjolaine and Justinia.

 

At least we (depending on dialogue choices) got to see Leliana lash out at Marjolaine for what she did to her. I guess she wasn't so mad at Justinia because she owed her her life.
